Chapter 27 was simply too much of a gift from him.



With incense running low and time running out, everyone stared intently at the hairpin in the young man's hand, wishing they could bite off a piece of flesh from it.

“This young man is quite skilled; keeping him by your side would be a good choice,” Gu Zhixing suddenly said, his tone tinged with amusement.

He had been observing from beginning to end, and now that only the young man remained on the field, the hairpin was basically his for the taking.

Shen Jintang shook her head slightly, her eyes filled with certainty: "I don't think so."

No sooner had the words left his mouth than a figure flashed through the crowd.

A petite woman suddenly pounced forward, her movements as nimble as a cat, aiming straight for the hairpin in the young man's hand.

The young man realized what was happening and was unwilling to give in.

Just as the two were locked in a stalemate, they heard Shen Jintang's voice: "The time has come."

The two held one side of the gold hairpin respectively, refusing to give way.

Gu Zhixing watched this scene with great interest, wondering what choice Shen Jintang would make.

He was convinced that the young man would be the winner of this contest.

The young man's skills stood out among the crowd, and Gu Zhixing thought highly of him.

At worst, he could find someone else with decent skills elsewhere, train them, and then give them to Shen Jintang.

Just then, the young man suddenly let go of her hand.

The golden hairpin landed in the woman's hand.

The woman breathed a sigh of relief, stepped forward, and respectfully handed the hairpin to Shen Jintang: "Miss, this is your hairpin."
