Chapter 12 12 "It's in my pocket, come and get it yourself."...

Chapter 12 12 "It's in my pocket, come and get it yourself."...

The quarrel between mother and daughter caused the already difficult relationship to drop to freezing point again. Chen Zan felt uncomfortable. She lay on the bed, looked at the ceiling, sighed silently and closed her eyes.

All she saw and heard were Lou Yan, that face that was filled with disappointment, and those voices that were like brainwashing that were repeated over and over again, like pages of a book being blown by the wind, the rustling traces numbed her nerves one after another.

Chen Zan frowned subconsciously, hiding the discomfort and hurt between his brows.

She never had the initiative when it came to making choices. Lou Yan never gave her a chance, either before or now.

Even the things she liked to do, Lou Yan tried to eradicate them from her world, and did not even allow her to have any delusions.

She had never been free.

The bitterness and pain in her heart gradually accumulated. Her fingers tightly grasped the quilt under her body, and her slender and thick eyelashes trembled slightly. The sadness was like a huge wave that was about to swallow her up.

But when she was about to collapse, she thought of someone.

A boy of seventeen or eighteen is full of vigor and vitality.

At the age of passionate blood, favored by the light and caressed by the wind.

So later, he also became a ray of light, illuminating her bitter youth.

Also tell her that she should be herself.

The tension in her fingers gradually loosened, and she curled up on her side, hugging herself feeling very insecure.

The bright light above her head enveloped her, and she closed her eyes and returned to that summer.

In the second semester of her senior year, Chen Zhan fell into a vicious circle. She began to feel aversion to studying, and the continuation of this situation resulted in very unsatisfactory midterm exam results, causing her to fall from the top three in the grade after having been ranked first for many consecutive years.

After the midterm exam there was a parent-teacher meeting. She remembered it very clearly. The weather that day was extremely bad. The lead-gray clouds pressed down very low in the sky, and there was a pungent smell of earth in the wind that was choking and pungent, indicating that a storm was about to come.

After the parent-teacher meeting, Lou Yan looked particularly bad. It started to rain on the way home. She drove, and the wipers scraped away the water stains on the windshield in front of her again and again. The streets were blocked and there was no way to get through. They were trapped in the traffic.

In front of him, a traffic policeman in fluorescent green was holding a flag to clear the road. Pedestrians were hurrying, with raincoats and umbrellas mixed together, passing by Chen Zan in dense crowds.

There was only silence in the car except for the ticking of the stopwatch.

Chen Zan secretly glanced at Lou Yan out of the corner of her eye. She picked her fingers guiltily, thinking back to the time not long ago when the teacher in the head teacher's office called her and her daughter for a talk.

In fact, only Lou Yan was talking to the head teacher. Chen Zan just stayed by the side and watched how they analyzed the reasons for her failure in the exam based on her study habits.

Finally, let me end with Lou Yan’s words:

"I will definitely have a good talk with her when I get back. Thank you for your attention and careful training of Chen Zan. I'm really sorry for failing to live up to your expectations."

All the words were polite and respectful, but in just a few words, they were directed at her in the wrong way.

She failed the exam because she didn't do well, but Lou Yan also made her sad.

After returning home, the mother and daughter still didn't speak. After dinner, Chen Zhan obediently went back to her room to do her homework. Before she could concentrate for too long, Lou Yan came in from outside, went straight to her desk, reached over the table and took the paintbrush from her desk.

At first she was confused, until Lou Yan reached out for her album again, and then Chen Zan realized that something was wrong.

She stopped writing, watched her put away all the painting tools, and interrupted, "Mom, what are you doing..."

Lou Yan's voice was cold, as if to inform her, "You are not allowed to touch these things anymore."

It turned out that she thought that painting affected her grades.

She reacted almost instantly, grabbed Lou Yan's arm, stood up, and forced an explanation to her, "No, this exam was my own problem, it has nothing to do with my hobby."

Lou Yan didn't listen to her explanation at all, didn't even look at her, pulled her hand away, and was about to turn and leave. But Chen Zhan suddenly rushed over and snatched the thing in her hand.

But she was no match for him. In the chaotic struggle, Lou Yan was furious. She pushed Chen Zhan onto the bed and said angrily, "What do you mean it doesn't matter? I think I've been letting you off too much lately. You've forgotten what's most important!"

A feeling of grievance suddenly welled up in Chen Zan's heart, irritating her so much that her nose felt sore. Under the light, her eyes gradually became watery. She shook her head, her voice choked, "I didn't..."

"You still say no! Chen Zhan, do you have any self-awareness?!"

Tears rolled down the corners of her eyes. Chen Zan closed her trembling lips tightly, her fingers curled tightly and dug into the quilt as she listened to the scolding coming from above her head.

"You've dropped from first in the grade to seventh. Do you know what that means? At this rate of decline, how will you ever get into Jingbei University?" Her voice was as cold as ice. She used almost all her strength to hit Chen Zhan. "Everyone's eyes are on you. They're all hoping you'll fall. You've dropped so badly, and you've done so poorly on the test. Aren't you afraid of being laughed at?"

Hot tears fell on the thin quilt, wetting a small spot.

"What you have to do now is to focus on your studies, reflect on your wrong behavior during this period, and get the first place back in the next monthly exam," she flipped through the album in her hand, and the pages rustled. Every page contained Chen Zan's works with the date written on it, almost one page per day, which meant that she painted a picture every day.

Lou Yan cruelly deprived her of the right to paint, "As for painting, it is not suitable for you. I advise you to give up as soon as possible."

Chen Zhan looked up in shock, tears streaming down her face, her eyelashes wet. Her eyes were gleaming with amusement, yet she stubbornly raised her eyes and questioned, tears streaming down her face: "Why...why do you say it's not suitable for me..."

"Because I'm your mother, I have to be responsible for you!" Lou Yan looked down at Chen Zhan's rain-washed face, ignoring her sadness and even demanding her strictly, "Chen Zhan, I'm only telling you this once, you must get into Jingbei University!"

She took away all her painting supplies and albums. During those days, Chen Zhan was depressed. She carried the heavy burden on her shoulders and the sadness in her heart, and struggled to move forward.

Painting was the only relief in her boring study life. Without this hobby, she felt like her soul was drained.

Lou Yan's words lingered in her ears over and over again, causing her to occasionally think that perhaps painting was really not suitable for her.

That day she stood on the rooftop of the school building and thought for a long time. The dry wind warmed her cheeks, the sun was bright and warm, but her heart was like a desolate sea.

She was about to give up.

But the next second, a sudden voice came from the other side of the rooftop, interrupting her idea of giving up.

It was a male voice.

"Are you serious?"

Chen Zan was startled and looked around like a frightened deer.

But then another voice was heard, and in comparison, this voice seemed a bit lazy.

Nonchalantly, "Just going to participate in a competition."

"Participate in a competition?" Jiang Qiannan repeated these words in surprise, and asked him in even greater surprise, "Sui, do you know what competition you are participating in? It's a shooting competition!"

"I know. You don't need to remind me." He Jingsui said calmly, "Besides, I don't think there's anything wrong with doing what I enjoy."

The sun was shining brightly. Chen Zhan moved cautiously and quietly in the direction of the sound.

She hid behind a stone wall that separated the space, and cautiously peeked over there.

There were two young men on the other side of the rooftop. One of them was tall and straight, and his simple outfit of white T-shirt and black pants was very eye-catching. He was half leaning against the wall, his arms folded over his chest, looking very lazy. The sunlight fell on his face, outlining the sharp facial lines. The black hair on his forehead slightly covered his eyebrows and eyes, and his lips were thin, and when they were slowly curled up, he had a lazy and bad look.

She recognized him; it was He Jingsui.

She also recognized the other boy in the black T-shirt, he was his friend Jiang Qiannan.

Is he here too?

Chen Zan asked himself silently in his heart, his heartbeat sounded involuntarily, as if it was going to break his heart.

"Aren't you afraid that your father will find out?"

"If he knows, then he knows," He Jingsui said without taking it seriously. "It just so happens that I want to make a bet with him, too."

"What's the bet?"

Chen Zan had the same question. She leaned against the wall, looking at the young man silently, her heart pounding.

The sky was fine, and the hot wind ruffled the black hair in front of his forehead and lifted up a corner of his white T-shirt. His dark eyes were unruly and untamable, with the corners of his eyes slightly raised. There was a calm and confident look in his expression that said, "If you don't believe me, let's give it a try."

"I bet I could control my own future."

Only he dares to be so confident.

Chen Zan watched from afar, and was touched. He Jingsui was also pursuing what he loved to do. He never hid anything. He seemed to be able to calmly deal with all kinds of difficulties on the road of pursuit. So he was always so at ease no matter what time.

Unlike her, she wasn't determined at all about what she loved to do. Even when faced with difficulties and obstacles, the first thought that came to her mind wasn't to keep going.

Chen Zan felt a little ashamed. She shrank her neck, turned back and leaned against the wall, hiding herself like a clown. She lowered her eyes to look at her toes, and her ears were filled with the words she had just heard.

Later, she heard the name of He Jingsui, the first-place winner of the youth shooting competition, on the sports news channel.

Countless reporters surrounded him with microphones, vying for him to give his acceptance speech.

He Jingsui, with a gold medal hanging around his neck, said only one sentence to the camera.

The young and frivolous boy was extremely arrogant, with a nonchalant look on his face. His dark eyes looked at the camera, slightly raised, in the posture of a winner.

"The purpose of coming here is not to win the championship, but to tell the world that the one who can control his own destiny is the winner."

"And I, just happened to become today—"

His lips parted slightly, and two words uttered from his throat so wantonly: "Winner."

At that moment, with his heart trembling, Chen Zan suddenly realized for the first time in his life, and suddenly remembered the words of the young man he overheard on the rooftop last time.

Even if your power is small, you must tell the world that only you can control your own destiny and only you should be yourself.

This is what He Jingsui told her.

It seemed as if tens of millions of butterflies were dancing in her chest, and the heartbeats that she could not hide reappeared repeatedly in the abyss that she thought was endless.

He was like a ray of light, illuminating her dark and numb youth.

Chen Zan looked at the young man holding the trophy on TV and smiled gently with his lips curved.

"He Jingsui, thank you."

Thank you for telling me that I should be myself.

No matter how difficult the future is, we should be winners and control our own destiny.

The phone buzzed twice, and Chen Zan came back to her senses in a daze. She turned on the phone, and the light from the screen reflected on Chen Zan's fair cheeks. Her skin was so smooth that even her pores were very small. Her eyelashes fluttered as she saw the message from Jiang Yu.

[Jiang Yu: How was your chat with Aunt Lou?]

It’s nothing, we just can’t continue the conversation.

Chen Zhan had a slight headache. She rubbed her head irritably. Her hair was disheveled, and the strands of hair beside her ears stuck to her face. She was in no mood to reply.

【Chen Zhan: Still the same.】

[Jiang Yu: It's okay, don't overthink it. Aunt Lou will understand your choice.]

Lou Yan will never understand her choice.

Chen Zan didn't want to explain too much to Jiang Yu, she just wanted to be quiet now.

So I sent him a message, [Chen Zhan: Yeah, I know.]

Jiang Yu looked at the message that popped up, and the corners of his lips curved slightly. He was typing to tell her that the two families would have dinner together tomorrow when Chen Zan's message popped up again.

[Chen Zhan: It’s getting late. I’m going to bed first. Good night, Brother Jiang Yu.]

The words in the chat box were only half typed. Helplessly, Jiang Yu deleted the text and sent another one.

【Jiang Yu: Okay, good night.】

The next day was the day for a dinner with the Jiang family. Early in the morning, Lou Yan brought Chen Zan to visit.

The two families are neighbors and have a very good relationship.

They were going to visit together, so Chen Zan temporarily put aside the unpleasantness with Lou Yan and followed Lou Yan obediently.

The two arrived at the door of the Jiang family villa and were greeted by a nanny.

Chen Zan recognized Jiang Yu's nanny and greeted her with a smile.

"Mother Lin."

The middle-aged woman called Lin Ma said "Hey" and walked over with a smile on her face.

"Madam Chen, Zhanzhan," she said, her eyes wrinkled with joy as she quickly ushered them into the house. "Please come in, Madam is waiting for you."

Lou Yan and Chen Zan entered the house and saw Jiang Yu and Jiang's mother walking towards them.

Chen Zan greeted them with a smile.

"Aunt Jiang, Brother Jiang Yu."

"Zhanzhan," Jiang's mother said, dressed in a simple and gentle manner. She took Chenzhan's hand, looked him over, left and right, up and down, her eyes filled with heartache. "You've lost weight."

"No, you always think I'm fat." Chen Zan answered her with a smile.

Jiang's mother affectionately brushed her hair away from her ears, turned her head to look at Lou Yan, and gently scolded her, "You really are such a fool. Don't be too strict with Zhanzhan. It's heartbreaking enough that she suffers in school every day."

"She chose to suffer this hardship herself, she can't blame anyone else," Lou Yan said. "If she had listened to me, she wouldn't have suffered so much."

Jiang's mother also knew about what was going on in her family. At this critical juncture, it was not appropriate to talk about this topic any further.

After a pause, Jiang's mother abruptly changed the subject and asked Jiang Yu to lead them to the living room.

After sitting down in the hall, Mother Lin brought some brewed tea from the kitchen.

Lou Yan and Jiang's mother started chatting as soon as they sat down. They hadn't seen each other for a long time and had endless things to talk about.

The hot tea in front of her was steaming, and Chen Zan held it in her palm, taking a sip. Next to her sat Jiang Yu, wearing a casual white T-shirt and black pants, looking refreshingly homely.

He was still thinking about Chen Zhan's message from last night, so he turned his head and asked her softly, "Zhan Zhan, were you and Aunt Lou really okay last night?"

"fine."

Things have already happened and are in the past, and being unable to trace them back will only add to the burden.

Chen Zan didn't want to fall into a situation that made her mind numb again, so she rejected the possibility of Jiang Yu asking again.

"I'm very happy to be your guest today." Chen Zhan smiled, "I'll have to trouble you and Aunt Jiang to entertain me again."

"What are you talking about? I heard that you're coming back for National Day. My mom is so happy. How can it be a problem?"

"Yes, Zhanzhan, just treat this place as your own home. Don't be polite to me." Jiang's mother looked at her with a smile, her eyes full of love for her that was about to overflow.

Chen Zan was also happy. She subconsciously glanced at Lou Yan, who was standing beside Jiang's mother, and didn't notice any emotion on her that required her to be cautious. She smiled comfortably and agreed to Jiang's mother's words, "Okay."

As night falls, the city is illuminated by brilliant lights. The long, bustling streets, lit with streetlights, wind their way forward like a magnificent river.

The two families dined together, and the private room was filled with laughter and joy. Chen Zan sat quietly beside Lou Yan, eating and listening to their conversation.

Mother Jiang asked about Chen Jinnian, asking if he was still as busy as before. Lou Yan replied, "Of course not. When he gets busy, he's rarely around all year round. But I've gotten used to it over the years."

Chen Zan's father, Chen Jinnian, is a scientist who works away from home all year round. He has little contact with Lou Yan and Chen Zan on weekdays and seldom goes home. Although they have the closest relationship, they seem to be separated by the greatest distance.

"This guy is like this when he's busy at work," Jiang's mother said to Lou Yan with a smile, "Jiang Yu's father is the same. He's often away from home when he's busy with work. Only this kid is different from his father. He still remembers to come back after staying abroad for a long time."

The topic immediately shifted from their father to Jiang Yu, who was caught off guard and didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "Mom, you're talking about Dad, so why are you bringing the topic up to me again?"

"Why, I can't say anything to you?" Jiang's mother asked him politely.

"That's right," Jiang Yu smiled and helped her pick up some food. "Here, your son will honor you."

Lou Yan, who was sitting next to her, also laughed. She watched Jiang Yu stand up, pick up the dishes and put them into Jiang's mother's bowl. There was approval in her eyes, which was completely different from her usual serious and solemn look.

Her gaze followed Jiang Yu, nodding in approval and satisfaction, "Xiao Yu has been sensible and obedient since he was a child, and now he is even more different than before."

This compliment came too suddenly. Jiang Yu smiled modestly and said, "Aunt Lou, you are too kind."

"How can this be a false compliment?" Lou Yan patiently recounted his achievements over the years. "You've always been number one in your studies, winning scholarships every year. You were admitted to Beijing University through the college entrance exam and even went abroad. Now you have a successful career. This is much more genuine than a false compliment."

Words could not express Lou Yan's love for Jiang Yu. Chen Zan sat beside her, looking at her eyes filled with many expressions she had never seen before. Loneliness shrouded her interest, making it impossible for her to empathize with her at this moment. She praised Jiang Yu's excellence.

She closed her eyelids and poked the rice with chopsticks. The sounds in her ears gradually became blurred, forming a barrier that isolated her from their world.

But before there was a moment's peace, someone pulled her out with great effort.

"Chanchan."

The voice belonged to Jiang's mother.

Chen Zan was startled and looked up at Jiang's mother who was sitting opposite her.

Jiang's mother asked her with a smile, "Have you decided what you plan to do after graduation?"

She was only a freshman, so Chen Zan hadn't thought that far. He was about to tell her that he hadn't made up his mind yet, but Lou Yan beside him interrupted her.

"I plan to send her to study abroad after she graduates."

No one expected this decision. Even Jiang's mother was stunned for a moment. She turned her head to look at Lou Yan and asked in surprise, "Really?"

Lou Yan nodded calmly, "Zhanzhan's admission to the Art Academy was an accident. It was my fault as a mother for not supervising her well. Besides, she was going to study abroad anyway, so it didn't matter which university she attended in China."

These few words made Chen Zan confused. What Lou Yan said was not her true thoughts. She wanted to refute, but the next second, Jiang Yu grabbed her wrist.

She turned to look at him, understanding the meaning in his silent eyes.

He asked her to be quiet.

His palm was warm against her wrist. Chen Zhan consciously broke away, and her fluttering eyelashes told her that they should keep their distance.

Jiang Yu's hand was still suspended in mid-air, the presence of that slender wrist gradually disappeared in the air. He curled his fingers slightly to grab it, but found that it was all in vain.

He withdrew his hand a little awkwardly, chuckling softly, with a hint of loneliness in his eyes.

Lou Yan arranged everything for Chen Zan on her own. When she talked about the plan with Jiang's mother, there was light in her eyes and even her voice was raised a few tones.

In addition, Chen Zan did not directly refute her, which instantly made her excited, as if she could talk for three days and three nights without finishing her story.

But Chen Zan couldn't stand her like this, and even felt a little disgusted with her plans and arrangements. She hated Lou Yan's self-willedness.

The rice in the bowl became very hard after cooling down, and it even hurt my stomach when I swallowed it.

She felt a little out of her appetite, so she put down her chopsticks and stood up.

Lou Yan beside her noticed her and turned to look at her, "Where are you going?"

"Let's get some fresh air outside."

This made Lou Yan feel uneasy. Her expression, which had just been beaming with joy, immediately darkened. She felt that it was impolite for Lou Yan to leave the table on her own initiative. "Everyone is still eating. Why are you going outside to blow the wind? Just sit here quietly."

Chen Zhan pursed her lips, and she closed her eyelids slightly and refused to sit down.

The atmosphere was deadlocked and tense, as if in the next second, Lou Yan's cold expression would turn into a sharp arrow and pierce her through.

Jiang's mother noticed something was wrong and winked at Jiang Yu.

Jiang Yu quickly stood up to save the situation, "Auntie Lou, it's quite stuffy in here, I also want to go out for some fresh air, I'll go with Zhanzhan."

As he spoke, he put his hands on Chen Zhan's shoulders and said to her, "You can talk to my mother slowly."

Chen Zan was taken out of the box by Jiang Yu. The noisy laughter outside came to her face, soothing the stiffness of her body.

"Are you okay, Zhanzhan?" Jiang Yu asked with his head down.

Chen Zhan responded with a faint smile, but he looked very tired. "I'm fine. Thank you, Brother Jiang Yu."

"Auntie Lou is always like this. If you don't want to listen, then don't listen."

"Okay." Chen Zan really didn't have the energy to argue about whether to go abroad or study. Facing Jiang Yu's worried eyes, she ignored him and said, "I want to walk alone. Don't follow me."

The temperature at night is actually still quite high. There are no stars in the dark night sky, but the bright reflections on the busy streets light up this luxurious city.

Chen Zan walked slowly along the street, uncontrollably recalling Lou Yan's words in his mind.

She thought that since she accidentally entered her ideal college, Lou Yan would stop forcing her, but she only realized until now that Lou Yan had never given up.

Didn't give up on arranging her life.

It would be a lie to not say I'm sad.

She even felt a little irritated, and the irritation that had nowhere to vent was about to wear away her calmness and tranquility.

Just when she was about to step on the edge of extreme collapse, the moment she raised her eyes, she saw a familiar figure.

The man was wearing a T-shirt as black as the night, sitting on the steps in front of the convenience store with his long legs propped up. A cigarette was loosely dangling from his lips, and he was tilting his head to press the lighter.

There was a crisp "click" sound, and a cluster of bright blue flames lit up.

It was the silver lighter she found last time in the hospital.

A wind blew by, the fire flickered, and he blocked it with his hands.

The cigarette butt was about to reach the flame, but the corner of his eye was the first to keenly notice her presence not far away.

He tilted his head slightly and looked at her.

The dark gaze swept over her, finally stopping on her face.

She was wearing a perfectly fitted dress, with a nipped-in waist, which accentuated her slender figure. Standing in the light, her skirt swayed. But her face had an indescribable loneliness, as if she had suffered a little injustice.

Even he frowned in confusion.

He ultimately didn't light the cigarette. He extinguished his lighter, stood up, and walked towards her. His shadow shuffled across the ground, as lazy and casual as he was. He Jing then approached her and greeted her, "Why are you here?"

The light from the street lamp had a hazy and charming dark yellow color, outlining his figure indistinctly. His dark eyebrows and eyes were hidden in the darkness, emitting an intriguing fascination that made people dare not ignore.

Chen Zan's eyelashes trembled, and he suppressed the upsetting emotions deep in his heart.

He replied calmly, "Just passing by."

His gaze remained on her face for a long time, making her feel very embarrassed and she lowered her eyes.

I heard his very light laughter beside my ear, "Why do you look like that? Did someone bully you?"

"No." She noticed the slender cigarette between his fingers, and her eyelashes trembled slightly. "Were you smoking just now?"

He Jingsui raised his eyebrows in surprise, followed her line of sight, and saw the cigarette at her fingertips.

I've also heard that boys like smoking because it can relieve stress and numb their nerves.

She is under a lot of pressure now and needs to numb her nerves that have been tensed up by Lou Yan.

Perhaps it could have the same effect, so Chen Zan was so bold in front of him for the first time and asked in a daze: "What does it feel like to smoke?"

"Curious again?" His voice came from above his head, with a hint of familiar teasing, extremely frivolous.

He was lazy and nonchalant, and that was intentional.

This tone reminded her of the last time in the hospital when she was caught with his lighter. At that time, he said that she was a good student and should not touch students' things.

Perhaps because she had been controlled by Lou Yan for too long, she discovered that she was not actually a good student.

She wanted to be bad, too, especially tonight.

So, this time she was very sure, raised her eyes and met his gaze.

"yes."

She asked him, her voice strained with forced calm, "Can I smoke?"

The moment these words fell, Chen Zhan saw the teasing in He Jingsui's eyes fade. Astonishment filled his dark eyes, and he thought he was hallucinating. "What did you say?"

She didn't have the courage to repeat those four words. Her heartbeat was up and down without any rhythm or regularity. Chen Zan pressed his thumb on the base of his thumb, as if he wanted to use this to suppress her inexplicable panic.

But all this did not escape He Jingsui's eyes. He caught the little panic on her face. When he understood what was going on, he relaxed his surprised brows, curled his thin lips, and followed her with a bit of playfulness.

"You want a cigarette?"

She had originally planned to let it go, but He Jingsui brought up the topic again, so she gritted her teeth and walked down the stairs he had laid out, "...Yes."

He glanced at her empty hands, and Chen Zhan subconsciously put his hands behind his back.

She was clearly being very well behaved, so He Jingsui smiled and continued to tease her, asking knowingly, "Can you smoke?"

She doesn't speak.

He Jing then scored a second time, "Are you trying to cheat me out of my cigarettes?"

The fingers holding the cigarette curled up, and his playful eyes stared at her.

The stare made her feel weak, and the forced calmness on that face seemed to be cracking inch by inch.

"No..." She was so nervous that her legs began to feel weak and her tongue was tied between her teeth.

Riding a tiger, it was difficult to get off. She was dizzy and anxious to make him believe it, "Can you... lend me one?"

A bad student who is not very competent.

He Jingsui laughed softly at her words one after another.

At this moment, nothing is more interesting than Chen Zhan.

He suddenly became interested and wanted to see how bold she could be.

His playful eyes were filled with mischief, and he deliberately tried to entice her by saying, "Can you lend her a cigarette?" "It's in my pocket, come and get it yourself."

The author has something to say:

----------------------

The next chapter will be V, and there will be 10,000 words updated. Babies, don't make me fat TVT

The next book I will write is "When the Snow Melts", which is about age difference. If you like it, you can collect it. The copy is as follows:

On the day she first met Wen Jingyan, Su Wanjin was kicked out of the house by her family.

It was a winter night, snow was falling heavily, and she was wearing very little clothing, crouching on the side of the road, shivering with red eyes. She thought she would freeze to death, until a shadow fell over her head and a pair of straight legs appeared in her sight.

Su Wanjin looked up, and saw Wen Jingyan in the falling snow.

The man was dressed in a black suit, looking very refined. His eyes behind his glasses looked incredibly deep yet dull in the shadows. He squatted down and carefully wiped the snow off her face.

The gentle voice grabbed all her heartbeats, "They don't want you, I want you."

Those seemingly sentimental but actually dull eyes fell on her face. He stretched out his hand to her and said, "Would you like to come with me?"

Wen Jingyan treated her very well. He would run more than ten kilometers away in the middle of the night to buy her favorite strawberry cake, accompany her to the lake to relax, and patiently accompany her as she grew up.

Countless days and nights of meticulous care made Su Wanjin's love for her grow deeper and deeper.

On his birthday, she drank to give herself courage and confessed to him with a blushing face.

That was the first time she saw Wen Jingyan's serious face, and the eyes hidden behind the glasses no longer looked at her as gently as usual.

He pushed her away, kept his distance from her, and shattered all her fantasies with a cold voice, "You are drunk, we are not suitable."

Su Wanjin raised her face stubbornly and asked him, "What's wrong with it?"

The red eyes that were about to burst into tears were very eye-catching. Wen Jingyan curled up his drooping fingers and turned away from her, "You are still young."

That day, Su Wanjin felt hopeless.

They met again three years later. The man hurriedly pushed through the dense crowd and came to her side.

The person he had been thinking about day and night was standing in front of him.

Restraining the urge to crush her in his arms, he reached out to her again, cautiously as if he was risking everything.

"Will you come with me?"

When her hand fell into his palm again, his heart was filled with the feeling of regaining what he had lost. On the night drenched by the spring rain, he cherished her and kissed her again and again.

When love reaches its deepest point, he becomes obsessed and greedy.

"Jinjin, can you give me another chance?"
