Chapter 39 Su Su
After taking a hot shower at home, Yu Bai made herself a cup of cold medicine and continued working. When Nan Kui called, she was researching relevant information.
"You're still busy working? Bai Bai, you're such a workaholic."
Nan Kui is a civil servant, working nine to five. After get off work, she just stays home and relaxes. Recently, she's become obsessed with the mobile game Honor of Kings. She uses her sweet voice to hook up with top male players in the game, and she gets tons of guys sending her pictures of their abs on WeChat.
“You’re not playing games? You still have time to look for me.” Yu Bai typed as he replied to Nan Kui.
Nan Kui chuckled, "Hey, am I the kind of person who values romance over friendship?"
"Tsk tsk tsk." Yu Bai didn't believe it.
"Achoo—" Before Nan Kui could retort, Yu Bai sneezed. Nan Kui quickly asked her worriedly, "Bai Bai, are you catching a cold?"
"I forgot my umbrella tonight and got caught in the rain for a few minutes," Yu Bai said, rubbing his nose in a nonchalant tone.
"Then how did you get back?"
Yu Bai bit her lip, the image of Jiang Jizhou's drunken face flashing in her mind. She lied, "I'll take a taxi."
"That's good, remember to take your medicine." Nan Kui reminded her, then hesitated.
"Are you hiding something from me? Just tell me."
Nan Kui smiled sheepishly, "You understand me best. I think I went too far."
"What?" Yu Bai raised an eyebrow.
“I was in online relationships with two people at the same time, and I had two accounts in King of Glory with the couple status set. Then today I found out that they are from the same school.” Nan Kui slowly began to speak.
Yu Bai was stunned for a moment, not expecting that Nan Kui, who had never been in a relationship, was actually a slut. She replied seriously, "It's okay, at least we're not in the same dorm."
“That’s right!” Nan Kui sighed, looking up at the sky.
"Ah!" Yu Bai was completely stunned. "So they found out?"
"They don't know yet."
"Then you should break it off with them quickly."
Nan Kui said cautiously, "I can't bear to part with it."
Yu Bai was amused by her, "Let's wait until they find out. Can you do me a favor first?"
"What?"
"Are there any blind people in the south of the city?"
Nan Kui frowned and thought for a moment, "Hey, you know what, there really is one. She's a girl, about our age, a local from Nancheng, and works as a teacher at a special education school."

“OK, love you, Kui Bao.” Yu Bai immediately opened Word to prepare the interview transcript.
"Honey, keep talking, but make a decision as soon as possible. Talking to one person is fine, just so that both of them find out in the end," Yu Bai advised Nan Kui.
Nan Kui cried, "It's so hard to choose, they're all so handsome."
"Then you should think it over carefully. I'm going to work now. We'll talk when we meet tomorrow."
"You're the one who prioritizes work over friends!" Nan Kui said, feeling wronged, but still understanding. "Then you should get some rest and not work too late. Remember when you fainted from staying up all night studying?"
Yu Bai smiled and said, "I know."
After hanging up the phone, Yu Bai's phone vibrated, and he saw a message from an unknown number.
Remember to take your cold medicine. I've already arranged for someone to bring your electric scooter.
Yu Bai lowered his eyes, turned off his phone, and continued writing the interview transcript.

The next morning, when Yu Bai went to work, he saw her electric scooter parked outside the residential area.
After a night of intermittent rain, the sky was a clear, boundless blue, and the air was filled with the fragrance of rain-soaked earth and the coolness of autumn.
After Yu Bai walked to the company and sat down at her workstation, Su Yin came to find her.

"Yu Bai, why is President Gao unwilling to see me?" Su Yin's tone was weary and angry.
Yu Bai frowned. "Shouldn't you ask him?"
Su Yin took a deep breath. "So how did you meet him?"
Yu Bai was disgusted by Su Yin's arrogant and condescending attitude. She had come to ask for help, but instead, she acted as if it were her right to interrogate.
She ignored her, "Aren't you so capable? Why are you asking me?"
Su Yin angrily slammed the file onto Yu Bai's desk, startling Yu Bai. Su Yin then walked away in her high heels.
Perhaps because Jiang Jizhou insisted on doing the interviews himself, Yu Bai, although he disliked Su Yin's personality, did not expect that she would be unable to complete the interview task because of his own reasons.
So, Yu Bai sent a message to that unknown number.
Jiang Jizhou, I won't accept your interview assignment, so please don't make things difficult for my colleague.

"So they haven't even noticed yet?" Yu Bai was a little surprised.
Nan Kui said, "The two of them are mortal enemies. They can't stand each other and they never talk to each other. When we play games and send voice messages, we wear headphones."
"I see." Yu Bai nodded, suddenly realizing, "Then when they find out, you might become their common enemy."
"Ah! Bai Bai, don't scare me." Nan Kui was on the verge of tears.
Yu Bai smiled and continued to persuade her to turn back before it's too late.
Upon arriving at the school, just as the students were leaving, Yu Bai, led by Nan Kui, went to the teachers' office.
As Yu Bai walked past those children who, despite their physical or mental disabilities, were all as adorable as the rising sun, his heart was filled with warmth.
Pushing open the door, Yu Bai immediately saw the girl Nan Kui had mentioned.
She was like a daisy, seemingly frail but with a tenacious spirit. Her eyes were as beautiful as glass, yet they appeared unfocused, as if lost in thought.
"Su Su, it's been a long time." Nan Kui walked over and hugged her.
Su Su smiled and said, "Long time no see."
"Hello, I'm Nan Kui's friend, Yu Bai, a reporter from 'Focus on Finance'." Yu Bai introduced himself to Su Su in a gentle voice.
Su Su looked in the direction of the voice and said, "Hello, I'm Su Su."
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, the group sat down around the desk.
Yu Bai explained in detail to Su Su his news reporting direction and his on-site investigation the previous day.
With an appreciative look on her face and a sincere tone, Su Su said, "Thank you, Reporter Yu. When Kui Kui told me yesterday that you were coming to interview me, I thought you just wanted to grab attention. I didn't expect you to be so genuinely concerned about us disabled people. I was so narrow-minded. I'm sorry."
Yu Bai smiled and said, "It's okay. I'm also disabled. My hearing in my left ear is very poor. I hope to speak up for many vulnerable groups. It's my responsibility."
Su Su nodded, feeling a sense of kinship with Yu Bai, "It's really great that you've become such a great reporter."

"No need for that trouble," Su Su refused repeatedly.
Nan Kui smiled and said, "It's okay, Su Su. We haven't eaten together in a long time."
At Nan Kui and Yu Bai's insistence, Su Su agreed to go out for dinner. Yu Bai drove them to the same barbecue restaurant that he and Nan Kui had gone to last time.
This time, nothing unexpected happened, and the group was able to enjoy their barbecue without incident.
Nan Kui was telling Su Su about how they were hit on and insulted in front of the barbecue restaurant, and how Jiang Jizhou came to their rescue. Yu Bai looked indifferent when she heard Jiang Jizhou's name and continued eating her barbecue.
Nan Kui, that gossipy girl, said mysteriously to Su Su, "He's so handsome, but it's a pity he's a jerk."
Su Su frowned, "Didn't he just save the damsel in distress? How can he be a scumbag?"
"Sigh, that's just the multifaceted nature of people," Nan Kui said earnestly, preparing to offer some profound advice.
Yu Bai rolled her eyes at her. Nan Kui blinked, and then WeChat notifications started ringing one after another. Nan Kui looked at her phone and realized, "Oh no, both men are asking me to play games."
Yu Bai also spoke earnestly to Su Su: "Look, she is a typical example of multifaceted personality."
