Chapter 110 Adding the Last Fuel to the Fire (shuhaige.net)

"I was injured during our sparring last time, and the young sect leader comforted me when he saw it."

“The young sect leader would never make a mistake; it must be Senior Brother Li who caused him trouble.”

"Senior Brother Li always looks like he doesn't like anyone."

"He always acts according to his own mood. Who knows where he might suffer a loss and then take it out on the young sect leader."

"The young sect leader is so pitiful."

Shen Yun has already taken Li Geyue's soul lamp from Taoli Hall.

The ghostly blue soul flame burned quietly in the glass lamp, reflecting the uneasy face beside it.

Although he had just made up his mind to take full responsibility, when the matter actually came to him, Li Geyue was, after all, just a teenager, and he was visibly flustered.

"Senior Brother..." he looked to Ji Mofan for help.

"Don't worry, nothing will happen," Ji Mofan said.

It might sound like a meaningless remark, just a word of comfort.

But Li Geyue hadn't heard Ji Mofan speak to her in this tone for a long time.

He heard the disciples talking, but he didn't really care.

Since he dared to bully others, he never took their thoughts seriously from the beginning.

In the past, Ji Mo Fan would help clean up the mess for his junior brother, not wanting him to be criticized.

At first, he thought the other party was meddling, but recently when the other party actually quit, he felt a little uneasy.

What was bothering her? Li Geyue couldn't quite put her finger on it.

But this is not entirely Ji Mofan's fault. After all, it was a favor for him to help mediate in secret, and it wouldn't be a dereliction of duty for him not to help.

But now, right now, just when he thought he had been left to his own devices by Ji Mofan!

He actually heard Ji Mofan speaking to him in his old tone again!

Those six simple words were like a reassuring pill, making him feel as if he could entrust everything to the other party and everything would be easily resolved.

Ji Mo Fan seems to still be the senior brother he can rely on wholeheartedly.

Seeing that Li Geyue's gaze was starting to wander again, Ji Mofan narrowed his eyes, a subtle complexity flashing in them.

He truly hadn't expected that Li Geyue was so fragile.

He simply ignored it and let things develop naturally, and yet everything just happened as it should have.

Changfeng Valley's assessment of Yuncang Sword Sect was quite fair; without Ji Mofan, they were nothing.

Since it's already burned to such a mess...

As Ji Mofan watched Li Geyue being taken away by Shen Yun, he quietly retreated to the edge, pinched a communication talisman between his fingers, and disappeared without a trace where no one was watching.

He'll just add the final push.

*

This was Li Jinchu's first time visiting the Yuncang Sword Sect.

Although this wasn't the first time he had accidentally entered the territory of another sect while on a mission, everyone could understand in this situation. After all, no one knew how those cunning monsters would escape, and to avoid jurisdictional chaos, the place where the incident occurred was usually the one to investigate and hold those responsible accountable.

Even though he passed by, he never thought of visiting the Yuncang Sword Sect.

Although he is not yet the chief disciple of the Xiaoling Sect, it is basically a done deal. His trip to the Yuncang Sword Sect, which is also one of the five major sects, will not be a simple visit, but an interaction between the two sects.

The issues involved were too complicated, so he simply stopped caring about them altogether.

But unexpectedly, halfway through the flight on the sword, I suddenly received a telepathic message.

"We would be extremely grateful if the eldest young master of the Li family could come to the Yun Cang Sword Sect."

Li Jinchu recognized the voice as that of Ji Mofan.

He wasn't referring to Senior Brother Li from the Xiaoling Sect, but rather the eldest son of the Li family.

Even as Li Jinchu stood before the gates of the Yuncang Sword Sect, she still couldn't understand why Ji Mofan had invited her over in the name of his family.

Almost the instant he approached the sect's barrier, a blue-green figure flashed before his eyes.

Ji Mo Fan tore off a teleportation talisman and rushed over to him. His expression didn't change much, but he spoke very quickly, "Come with me, I'll explain later."

It was in this completely bewildered state that Li Jinchu was dragged to the Execution Platform by Ji Mofan.

"What do you mean? Are you asking me to watch your sect punish its disciples?" Li Jinchu glanced at the stage and saw that the souls that had lost their minds were reacting violently because of the outsider who had suddenly entered the formation.

Despite the seemingly calm wind, the cluster of soul flames was torn apart and swayed precariously. A figure dressed in red stood alone in the center, his body teetering on the verge of collapse from the blows.

"You don't know him?" Ji Mofan asked him with a question mark.

Li Jinchu paused slightly in the hand holding the folding fan.

"Should I know him?" He closed his folding fan, a small question mark appearing on his face.

Ji Mofan stared at Li Jinchu for a while, as if to confirm whether his reaction was genuine.

“His name is Li Geyue, and he is my junior brother,” Ji Mofan said.

A look of understanding flashed in Li Jinchu's eyes.

That makes sense. The Li family members were severely punished, and he happened to be nearby, so it was only natural for him to intervene.

"Which branch of the family is he from?" Li Jinchu asked.

"Moonrise City," Ji Mo Fan announced the place name.

"Why?"

"Repeatedly seriously injured fellow disciples."

Li Jinchu's brow twitched suddenly. "Is it because you're affected by your inner demons?"

Although the two had stood on the same stage three years ago, Li Jinchu was ten years older than Ji Mofan and came from a cultivation family like the Li family, so their experience was naturally not on the same level.

Ji Mofan only truly understood the inner demons because of his personal experience and memories from his past life. However, it's not surprising that Li Jinchu, with more access to related knowledge, could easily guess their meaning.

Moreover, if it were just a normal mistake, Ji Mofan wouldn't need to specially send a telepathic message to call Li Jinchu over; he could just handle it internally.

He was just a collateral relative of the Li family. Li Jinchu had many things to do and didn't have time to waste on a cousin who was neither related to her by blood nor had any feelings for her.

Although both of them share the surname Li, their families have grown so large that their relationship has long since transcended the fifth degree of kinship. Apart from their names, they are practically unrelated.

Seeing Ji Mofan nod in front of her, Li Jinchu stopped fanning herself and looked up at the red figure on the stage.

"...His inner demons are deeply rooted." He clicked his tongue.

Although inner demons may attack the mind, they are fundamentally rooted in the soul.

Although the cluster of soul fire belonging to Li Geyue was not obvious on the surface, careful sensing could still reveal that it was entwined with wisps of black energy.

Looking at it this way, placing him on the Execution Platform is actually a rather appropriate course of action.

Although most of these souls belonging to the predecessors of the Yuncang Sword Sect have lost their reason and cannot distinguish friend from foe, they all carry the righteous spirit of the Sword Sect's mental cultivation method.

If we can withstand their attacks, it should be easier to suppress our inner demons later.

After resisting for a long time, Li Geyue on the stage finally lost his balance, bent his leg, and squatted on one knee on the ground.
