"And him? What do you plan to do with him now?" Xiao Wangyan gestured with his chin toward Shen Yun on the ground.
"Wait." Ji Mofan turned around and walked to the table and chairs in the courtyard, then sat down with a flick of his sleeve.

When Shen Yun woke up, he felt pain all over his body, as if he had been beaten up while he was unconscious.
"Elder Shen?" A voice pierced through the chaos and entered his mind.
Shen Yun looked up and saw Ji Mofan squatting in front of him, poking his nose with a foxtail grass.
He sneezed from being poked.
Ji Mofan's subconscious action of taking two steps back made him feel quite embarrassed.
But there was nothing he could do; his body wasn't cooperating with him. Besides, lying on the ground like that was quite unsightly, and even he himself was disgusted with himself.
Moving his slightly numb limbs, Shen Yun managed to sit up. "...What's wrong with me?"
"I showed this manuscript to Elder Shen, and he suddenly collapsed after reading it for a short while." Ji Mofan pointed with the foxtail grass in his hand to the tattered scroll spread out on the table next to him.
Shen Yun regained his senses, stood up, and cast a cleansing spell on himself. "That's it? How long was I unconscious?"
“It won’t even last for the time it takes to burn an incense stick,” said Ji Mo Fan.
Shen Yun glanced at Ji Mofan with some suspicion, then looked at the tattered scroll on the table with a flicker in his eyes.
"Elder, have you gleaned anything from this?" Ji Mofan pressed him.
Shen Yun's voice choked slightly, "Did you encounter anything unusual when you got this manuscript?"
