Chapter 406 The Clouds Part and the Sun Shines

Qi Yuan turned his head and saw Ji Mo Jueqian's figure close at hand, that face he had been thinking about day and night, now looking at him with a slight smile.

“We’ve been hiding from him for over a hundred years,” she said. “Now, there’s no need to hide anymore.”

"boom!"

Another attack descended directly upon the protective array of the Chaoming Palace.

The spiritual energy shield, at least three feet thick, finally shattered into countless irregular fragments after several attacks. These fragments drifted down from mid-air, like the last light snow of late winter.

Ji Mo Fan felt a gust of wind sweep past him, and when he looked again, Ji Mo Jue Qian was nowhere to be seen.

In contrast, a dazzling white light suddenly appeared between the dark clouds and the sky before them.

A thunderous roar echoed through the sky, and a white beast the size of a small mountain leaped out from the thick fog that had risen from nowhere. Its roar was filled with the force of thunder, and it flew into the air to fight the white figure.

"Your Excellency!"

Xihe suddenly shouted, and as he leaped away, everyone saw a black shadow fall from the center of the battle.

He charged forward, transforming from human form into beast form. Although not as large as his mother, it was still more than enough to carry one person.

Xiao Wangyan was taken in by him.

Ji Mofan stepped forward and took his pulse. Only after hearing his heartbeat did his brow relax slightly, but it still looked wrinkled.

The injuries were not fatal, so Xiao Wangyan himself didn't need to worry too much. However, he was exhausted and couldn't fight for the time being.

Now Ji Mo Jueqian has taken his place to restrain Qu Jin, but he probably won't be able to hold out for long.

If she can't hold on either, then Qu Jin will have no more obstacles in front of him.

"The demon race has always lived in seclusion in Penglai and never fought with the world. Why are they suddenly interfering in the human race's civil war?" Qu Jin stared at Ji Mo Jueqian in front of him, his eyes and tone both unfriendly.

"Stop wasting your breath on me, I'm not here for peace today, I'm here to settle a personal score!"

The enormous Bai Ze divine beast roared, its voice transmitted through divine sense.

"You caused me and Qi Lang to be separated for over a hundred years, and you almost killed my entire family of three. If I don't avenge this, I will have lived in vain!"

Qu Jin clicked his tongue in displeasure.

It's just a beast. Why doesn't it stay peacefully on Penglai Island? Instead, it insists on coming to human territory to suffer.

In their last encounter, he had accidentally let the little beast slip through his fingers. Remembering that Heaven cherishes life, he took pity on her and spared her life.

But now that she's recklessly come back and invites trouble, he can't blame her.

In the midst of the fierce battle, another beastly roar resounded into the sky.

Everyone present was taken aback and unconsciously turned their gaze to another spot.

It wasn't emitted by Bai Ze in mid-air.

The sound came from another direction, where the clouds and mist surged, and a hazy fog appeared out of nowhere.

A halo of light flickered within, and countless strange beasts emerged from it. The solitary roars that began at first quickly transformed into a cacophony of sounds.

"My lads! Come and support your grandma!"

Ji Mo Jueqian took a bite at the somewhat stunned Qu Jin, but missed the vital spot, leaving a deep, bone-revealing bloodstain.

Qu Jin was shocked and quickly retreated, only to find that countless demons had surrounded him completely. He hovered in place, his jaw clenched, and his cheeks twitched visibly.

“Not only have the demon race trespassed into my cultivation world, but now that we are at a critical juncture, is this an attempt to side with the demon realm?” Qu Jin turned around and looked at Bai Ze behind him.

"Don't make a mountain out of a molehill. I told you I'm here today to settle a personal score!" Ji Mo Jueqian wasn't buying it. "You ruined my family, separating me from my husband and children for a hundred years. Today I'm here to teach you a lesson, you hypocrite!"

At Ji Mo Jueqian's command, countless demonic beasts responded with a continuous roar.

Strange and bizarre monsters emerged one after another from the white mist, launching a continuous attack on Qu Jin.

Even though Qu Jin was at the late Mahayana stage, just as ants can kill an elephant, he couldn't handle so many demonic beasts that seemed to be recklessly attacking him.

Could this be just a case of settling a personal score?

He almost laughed at Ji Mo Jueqian's words.

They were clearly just looking for a pretext to launch an attack on him.

These monsters only superficially agreed with her words; they clearly had another reason behind them.

They believe that Qu Jin is the culprit who instigated the conflict between the two realms, so for the sake of their own peaceful lives, they are now willing to do anything to make him die here.

But where do these demonic beasts get such audacity? This place is the heart of the cultivation world!

With such a grand display, aren't they worried about being discovered by righteous cultivators?

It should be noted that although the cultivation world and Penglai Island had always kept to themselves, that was only on the condition that neither side interfered in the other's internal affairs!

Now, Jimo Jueqian dares not openly declare his purpose, yet he dares to launch such a high-profile attack?

There are quite a few righteous cultivators who despise demon cultivators!

Just as Qu Jin was pondering a thousand thoughts, he caught a glimpse of a sliver of light appearing in the distance.

It wasn't that the clouds had parted and the sun was shining, but rather that people who arrived on swords appeared in large numbers, their weapons imbued with spiritual light.

The large-scale invasion by the demon race indeed attracted the attention of other righteous cultivators who had retreated to distant places.

They arrived on their swords at an extremely fast speed. In just a moment, the points of light were close enough that Qu Jin could clearly see that the leader was Li Jinchu.
