Chapter 43 I Won't Always Be Your Support

The bright red blade, imbued with fire-attribute spiritual power, was suddenly drawn, and its magnificent sword energy instantly slashed towards the crocodile's head.

The bony crocodile let out a terrifying roar, and its powerful tail swept fiercely towards the figure in mid-air.

Ning Weisheng's pupils contracted sharply. He hurriedly released his strength and retreated, twisting his body so hard it almost broke in two, barely managing to dodge the fish tail.

"Boom!"

Behind Ning Weisheng, a large tree was shattered to pieces by the crocodile's tail, and wood chips mixed with foul-smelling dust flew all over the sky.

"Senior Brother Ning... can you defeat the Bone Crocodile?"

“Senior Brother Ning is already a Nascent Soul stage expert, how could he not defeat such a demon?”

"But your hand holding the sword is shaking."

"Shut up!"

"We can't get involved at all... This level of combat is completely beyond our capabilities."

"Senior Brother Ning!!"

With a gasp of surprise from the disciples, Ning Weisheng was suddenly swept away by the Hard Bone Crocodile's tail.

His body crashed heavily into a large tree that could be embraced by two people, but even breaking the trunk did little to stop his backward flight. He continued to smash through three more trees before finally coming to a stop.

Ning Weisheng leaped up again from the drifting smoke and dust.

"That's great... Senior Brother Ning is alright."

"Senior Brother Ning! Kill this monster!"

Jimo Fan was getting a headache from all the noise.

He stopped regulating his breathing and opened his eyes from his dozing.

These disciples of the Yuncang Sword Sect are far too weak.

All you can do when you encounter such a monster is scream and yell?

No wonder they were overwhelmed by Changfeng Valley as soon as they went out to train.

Just as he was extremely tense, staring intently at the disciples on the battlefield before him, a brightly colored figure suddenly flashed past in his peripheral vision.

"...Senior Brother?"

"Senior Brother, if you get too close now, you'll only cause trouble for Senior Brother Ning!"

Ji Mofan ignored these words. The ice-blue sword blade was drawn, spiritual energy was brewing under his feet, and with a light touch of his toes, his figure floated up gracefully.

Ning Weisheng was badly injured from the impact; his internal organs felt displaced and he was in excruciating pain.

He forced himself to launch a fierce attack on the bony crocodile in front of him, but the crocodile's strong teeth bit the tip of his sword.

His attack failed, so he retreated swiftly, flicking his sword to wipe away the poisonous saliva on the blade.

Their gaze toward the bony crocodile was suddenly blocked by a figure.

"Senior Brother?" He looked at Ji Mo Fan, who had suddenly appeared in front of him, with a face full of surprise and doubt.

"Get out of the way! The bony crocodile is very strong, you'll get hurt!"

Ji Mo Fan still hasn't replied.

He simply waved his hand, using the scabbard to knock Ning Weisheng down from mid-air, before turning to face the crocodile that had been enraged and excited.

“Why don’t you just sleep properly?” he said.

The Snow Embracing Sword landed in his palm, its blade flashing and carrying the powerful spiritual energy of a Nascent Soul cultivator, striking the crocodile before him repeatedly.

"This is... the seventh level of the Yuncang Sword Technique?" Ning Weisheng landed in the group of fellow disciples below to catch him. Apart from the slight pain from being struck on the buttock by the sword sheath, he was not injured.

"Is this really the Yun Cang Sword Technique?" The junior brother supporting him looked at Ji Mo Fan in mid-air in disbelief. "Why is it completely different from when I practiced it?"

"Can someone at the Nascent Soul stage really unleash the Cloud Cang Sword Technique to such a terrifying degree...?"

"This is the first time I've seen the senior brother in actual combat."

"As expected of the chief disciple of Yun Cang Sword Sect!"

“But he’s been hiding like a coward the whole time.” Ning Weisheng’s junior brother said indignantly on his behalf, rolling up his sleeves to bandage the wound on Ning’s hand that had been bleeding from the sword energy. “If he hadn’t delayed his attack until now, how could Senior Brother Ning have been injured like this?”

"It's just a superficial injury." Ning Weisheng frowned. "You know that Senior Brother's injuries haven't healed yet, otherwise he wouldn't have made me his deputy in this training."

"In the past, when has it ever been the eldest brother who took on all the work single-handedly? He is by no means a coward who is afraid of death."

The junior brother couldn't help but click his tongue and lower his voice, "What's wrong with you today? You keep calling him 'senior brother,' anyone who didn't know better would think you have some inappropriate thoughts about him."

The speaker meant no harm, but Ning Weisheng's expression changed slightly at his words.

Fortunately, he was covered in dust and dirt, and because he had just been in a battle, his complexion was not good to begin with, so there was no obvious clue.

As they were speaking, a loud bang came from the other side.

The enormous monster was pierced through the back of the sword. Frost, centered on the Snow Embracing Sword, froze the blood around the wound into scarlet beads, which splattered onto the messy ground.

Ji Mo Fan reached out and drew his sword, and in doing so, he dug out the demon core from the crocodile's spirit platform.

Then, in front of everyone, he clutched his chest, swayed, and a little blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.

"Senior Brother!"

You're injured!

The voices of greeting were urgent and came one after another, but Ji Mofan waved his hand as if nothing had happened and casually wiped the corner of his mouth clean.

"It's nothing, just an old injury," he said casually.

But in the eyes of others, it was as if Ji Mofan, despite his own injuries, risked his life to save them from dire straits.

His gratitude was palpable.

Who knew that Ji Mofan just hoped that the same thing would happen less often in the future.

He no longer wanted to clean up the mess left by these useless bastards.

The reason he attacked the crocodile was simply because it was disturbing him. Besides, as a late-stage Golden Core demon beast, its demon core was still quite valuable.
