Chapter 60

Chapter 60

Xie Wen belatedly realized the meaning behind Chu Xianyue's words. She widened her eyes and asked, "You can hear me through Honghong'er?"

Chu Xianyue looked at Xie Wen with deep eyes, a half-smile on his face, "Yes, you can."

Xie Wen: ! So she didn't say anything bad about Chu Xianyue before! We're doomed.

Xie Wen's mind raced, and finally he realized with despair: Yes! And more than once!

And she didn't say anything she shouldn't have, right?

Chu Xianyue's voice rang out at that moment, "Yes, many times when you were asleep, you murmured my name."

Xie Wen: "?"

A faint smile appeared on Chu Xianyue's lips. He pinched Xie Wen's chin, turned his head and kissed her, kissing her little by little like a chick pecking at rice. At first, he was so gentle, but just as Xie Wen wanted to back away, he suddenly grabbed her head and forcefully pressed her down, making her fall towards him.

Xie Wen took a deep breath and bit Chu Xianyue's lip until the taste of blood filled her mouth. Only then did Chu Xianyue release Xie Wen and look at her with a strange and unfamiliar gaze.

Xie Wen was startled by his gaze; his eyes seemed to blaze with intense fire. She wiped her lips and whispered, "But my Lover's Curse hasn't kicked in yet today."

Chu Xianyue's gaze was deep as he looked at Xie Wen. His Adam's apple bobbed, and his fingertips lightly caressed Xie Wen's soft lips before pressing them against hers. But his voice turned cold the next second. "No buts. Only what I want."

"I want to be with you, it has nothing to do with the Sorrowful Curse. Don't you understand?"

"Xie Wen, what do you take me for? Do you really think that I did all this just because the Lover's Curse on you is acting up?"

"I'm telling you, every kiss, every caress, every act of desire I have for you comes from the bottom of my heart."

"Awen, do you understand now?" As he spoke, he kissed her domineeringly again. This time, Xie Wen's mind went blank. She opened her eyes wide and let Chu Xianyue gently caress and kiss her.

She stared into the unknown void and blinked. It took her a long time to fully process all this information.

He pulled down her blouse, revealing a large expanse of bare skin. He lifted her up with one arm, then knelt before her, kissing his way down the blank page. Xie Wen stroked his head and suddenly asked, "When?"

When did it start?

He looked up, seemingly puzzled. "What?"

Xie Wen repeated, "When did you start having such thoughts about me?"

"Perhaps it's another time entering the illusion of Little Mirror Lake."

Ever since he saw her body, she would always appear in his dreams in that same pose.

The subsequent illusion of the Green Lamp Ghost Palace made him even more obsessed with her.

Clearly, she had done such things long ago. Yet she remained so innocent, so pure, so virtuous to him. That's what made him hate her. It seemed that he was the only one who had harbored malicious intentions towards his disciple from beginning to end.

Seeing Xie Wen still lost in thought, letting him do as he pleased, he seemed very dissatisfied with her attitude and bit her hard as if punishing her. Xie Wen cried out in pain and punched his shoulder, "Chu Xianyue, you're hurting me."

Chu Xianyue looked up at her, licked his lips, and said, "Don't get distracted."

The red curtains swayed, the candlelight flickered, and after an unknown amount of time, the candlelight burned out.

In the dimly lit room, Xie Wen lay on his side, still being held in his arms. He asked something in a low voice later, but Xie Wen couldn't quite remember.

She simply nodded. Exhausted until the middle of the night, sleepiness carried her thoughts away; she had no time to think about anything else, and the bloating in her lower abdomen was also taken away by sleep. Chu Xianyue's hand rested on her lower abdomen, gently massaging it for her all night.

Xie Wen was imprisoned by Chu Xianyue, completely isolated from the outside world, unaware that the next day would be the day when the major sects would unite to besiege the Sword Sect.

The next morning, when Xie Wen opened her blurry eyes, she met Chu Xianyue's eyes, who was propping his head up and looking at her calmly.

She felt that she couldn't see any emotion in his eyes at all; it was as if there was a layer of fog between them.

Xie Wen was about to get up when he was pulled back by him. Xie Wen asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"

Chu Xianyue simply leaned closer and kissed her eyes and lips tenderly, saying, "It's nothing."

Xie Wen looked at him, so unusually gentle, and couldn't help but feel strange. But she didn't show it; she just leaned into his arms, snuggled against him, and smelled his pleasant sandalwood scent.

"When are you coming back today?" This was the first time she had asked him such a question since she had been imprisoned here, as if she was looking forward to his arrival.

Chu Xianyue's heart felt like a small bell had been struck, leaving only a lingering echo. He lowered his eyes, concealing the expectation and subtle complex emotions within them. "When do you want me to come back?"

Xie Wen lay in his arms, looking up at him, "Are you very busy?"

"certainly."

"Then why have you stayed here for so long?"

He simply hummed in response and gently stroked her cheek.

Xie Wen then asked, "Do you intend to keep me imprisoned here indefinitely?"

Chu Xianyue's expression changed, a crack appearing on his otherwise perfect face. Xie Wen's words seemed to have jolted Chu Xianyue awake from his beautiful dream.

However, he quickly concealed the crack in the skin, regaining his usual cool and composed demeanor. He asked, "You want to leave?"

Xie Wen said, "Of course. I know that everyone outside wants me dead. But I can't spend my whole life hiding in this little world, living a life of ignominy."

His heart clenched. He didn't want to, but it was the best choice he could make. Chu Xianyue couldn't give a definite answer or promise. He said, "Wait patiently. I'll figure something out."

Xie Wen blinked, and in that instant, she wrapped her arms around Chu Xianyue's neck and silently planted a spell—an eavesdropping spell.

Chu Xianyue was oblivious. Observing Xie Wen's expression, he sensed that she was disappointed and dejected towards him. He also hated himself. It was all his fault for being incompetent.

She watched him leave. Just like always.

Xie Wen's world returned to a deathly silence and darkness, as if he had fallen into an uninhabited deep sea. Although the room was beautifully decorated and fully equipped with all sorts of things, there was also a shelf displaying some magical artifacts and treasures that Xie Wen had never seen before.

But she couldn't muster any enthusiasm for any of it.

She sat at the table, propping her head up, and through the eavesdropping spell, after several days, she finally heard the sounds of the outside world again.

Yun Yan: "Master, today is October 20th. All the major sects have already gathered at the foot of the mountain, shouting that they want Senior Sister Xie Wen to be handed over. Master, where is Senior Sister Xie Wen now?"

"Master! Even if Senior Sister is a member of the Feather Clan, she has done nothing wrong from beginning to end. Please spare her life."

Chu Xianyue's head was already throbbing enough. He glanced coldly at Yun Yan and said, "I understand. Since you don't want your senior sister to die, come with me to the mountain gate and fight your way through."

Yun Yan stared blankly at Chu Xianyue for a few seconds, but Chu Xianyue had already walked past him and headed towards the mountain gate. Yun Yan snapped out of his daze and quickly caught up with Chu Xianyue, "Master, are you really choosing to protect Senior Sister?"

Chu Xianyue didn't waste any more words with Yun Yan. He said, "Otherwise what?"

No matter who comes today, he will not hand it over.

As Chu Xianyue walked, several elders with ethereal and otherworldly bearing stood before him, clearly "not here with good intentions."

"Chu Xianyue, the Feathered Clan has reappeared in the world. Their appearance is often accompanied by the crisis of world destruction. You are not someone who doesn't know the importance of things and doesn't care about the big picture. At this critical moment, hurry up and hand them over!"

"Ah Chu, don't be so blinded by love for a woman. Look at the chaos outside! The Feathered Clan has always been on the opposite side of the world. Do you really want to make enemies of the whole world for the sake of a woman?"

"The world is in chaos, and even our Sword Sect is struggling to survive. You forced yourself out of seclusion before your injuries had even healed. Have you forgotten how you were on the verge of death back then, almost losing your life? If it weren't for our joint efforts to save you... But what are you doing now? Are you going to risk another life for your disciple?"

These elders were all Chu Xianyue's seniors. Since the passing of his parents, Chu Xianyue had lived alone in the Sword Sect, receiving instruction from these elders. Chu Xianyue had always respected and loved them.

But now, Chu Xianyue found it increasingly difficult to tolerate their constant refrain of "you did this and that for a mere woman." He couldn't even stand others saying that about Xie Wen.

She was no ordinary woman. She was the love of his heart, someone he could never let go of.

Chu Xianyue said, "It was my stubbornness that led me astray, it had nothing to do with her. It was my choice to protect her, even if it meant sacrificing my life. None of this concerned her. I did what I wanted to do."

This is my own decision. It has nothing to do with the Sword Sect or any of the elders. If I return alive today, I will take her with me when I leave the Sword Sect. I will definitely not implicate any of you.”

After speaking, Chu Xianyue bowed solemnly to the elders. Several elders, all over a hundred years old, felt their hearts clench from the shock of Chu Xianyue's words. Chu Xianyue was the most talented cultivator in the Sword Sect in the past hundred years, and even within the Chu family lineage, his talent was exceptionally outstanding.

From childhood, he was strict with himself and abided by the rules. As an adult, he took it upon himself to eliminate evil and protect the righteous, possessing a great love for the world and an unshakable sense of justice. Yet now, he can actually say such things.

He also wanted to take the woman away from the Sword Sect.

The elders had never considered driving Chu Xianyue away. Yet now they received such a ruthless and resolute reply from him. They knew Chu Xianyue; once he made a decision, no one could change it, and he would not turn back.

After saying these words, Chu Xianyue brushed past the elders and walked down the mountain gate.

Yun Yan caught up with him, still seemingly not quite processing what he had said, "Master, are you really leaving the Sword Sect? Are you taking Senior Sister with you? What will happen to me if you leave? What will happen to the Sword Sect?"

Chu Xianyue did not answer.

Yun Yan staggered after Chu Xianyue, her voice trembling more and more, "Master, say something!"

Yun Yan's parents left when she was very young, and she wandered the streets alone, making a living by picking up vegetable scraps. She was often bullied by other children.

He thought he would live his life like this forever, until one day, a tall and majestic immortal stood in front of him and said, "Would you like to become my disciple?"

At that time, Chu Xianyue was only fifteen or sixteen years old, yet he was already a leading figure in swordsmanship, the number one in the Sword Sect, and his name was known throughout the country. But Yun Yan did not know Chu Xianyue; he only knew that he strongly wanted to follow Chu Xianyue.

I want to follow him for the rest of my life.

Yun Yan had looked up to his master since childhood, even regarding him as a deity. He was to respect and love his master for the rest of his life.

Yun Yan never imagined that one day his master would leave the Sword Sect and drift away from him.

Yun Yan choked up as she watched Chu Xianyue's retreating figure.

Chu Xianyue finally softened. He paused, turned to Yun Yan and said, "Why are you crying? I'm just leaving, not dying."

Yun Yan blinked, and the tears that had been welling up in her eyes fell in a stream.
