The team leader raised his whip and was about to hit the cow's butt when a villager came running over in a panic.
"Captain, this is bad, Captain, someone's dead, someone's dead."
The captain was so frightened that his whole body trembled, and the hand that was swinging the whip also trembled. The whip landed on the cow's butt, but not hard. The cow just started running when the captain pulled the reins again.
"What, what's going on? Don't, don't, don't lie to me." The captain couldn't speak clearly when he saw the person coming.
The person who came to report the news was Liu Erwang, a villager from the village. Liu Erwang's face turned red with anxiety.
"Captain, how could I lie to you about something like this? Someone really died, right there in the mountains. A man got drunk and was bitten by a wild boar. Oh, his body, his legs, his hands, they were all torn apart by the wild boar. He bled so much, and he's unconscious now. I don't know if he can survive."
The captain quickly yelled to the people in the car behind him, "Get out of the car, get out of the car quickly! Someone is injured. Send him to the hospital immediately."
The people behind, including Lin Ruyan, quickly got off the cart to free up the ox cart to rescue people.
The captain asked Liu Erwang, "Who is this person bitten by a wild boar?"
"Yes, yes, it's the guy in the bullpen. The, the, the younger one."
When Lin Ruyan heard this, her body trembled violently.
The person Liu Erwang was talking about was Mo Wuwei.
Something happened to Mo Wuwei.
She dropped her luggage and went to ask Liu Erwang: "Where is he? Where was he bitten? Where is he now?"
"He was bitten on the north side of the mountain. He's been carried down now. I don't know if he's reached the village yet."
Lin Ruyan didn't care about anything else and quickly ran towards the north side of the mountain.
"Teacher Mo, please don't be in trouble. Please don't be in trouble."
The team leader also hurriedly drove the ox cart over there and ordered people to send Lin Ruyan's luggage back to the educated youth site first. If there was anything missing in the suitcase, only that person would be held responsible.
Lin Ruyan remembered the north side of the mountain where Mo Wuwei was sitting on a rock playing the harmonica. When she went there, she accidentally slipped and was caught by him in his arms.
I don’t know if that’s the place Liu Erwang was talking about.
She ran towards that place for a distance in a heart-wrenching manner, and saw several people. Four of them were carrying a simple stretcher made of branches and vines. A person covered in blood was lying on the stretcher. This person should be Mo Wuwei.
She also saw Fang Suyun following beside her.
It was Mo Wuwei, it was really Mo Wuwei who was injured.
She quickened her pace again and rushed to the stretcher.
Then they saw Mo Wuwei lying there with his eyes closed, and his body, especially his right hand and feet, was exactly as Liu Erwang said, covered in blood and flesh, and wrapped in clothes. Fang Suyun was holding her feet, and his hands were held down by another person. Blood had soaked the clothes wrapping the wounds.
Lin Ruyan's tears had been flowing all the way, and now they burst out like a flood.
"Teacher, Teacher Mo. How could you be like this? Please don't get hurt. Please don't get hurt."
The team leader arrived and the villagers hurriedly put Mo Wuwei into the car. Xu Zhengqing and Fang Suyun wanted to go to the county hospital with them. Lin Ruyan got into the car without caring whether others allowed it or not.
Rescuing people was urgent, so the captain didn't say anything and immediately drove away.
When they arrived at the county hospital, the doctor quickly gave Mo Wuwei first aid. The team leader, Fang Suyun, Xu Zhenqing and Lin Ruyan were all waiting anxiously outside the emergency room.
The captain asked Xu Zhenqing and Fang Suyun for details about Mo Wuwei's injury.
Xu Zhenqing said, "Wu Wei was in a bad mood yesterday and drank a little. This morning, after we finished cooking, we went to his room to call him, but no one answered.
We were both worried that he would drink again and get into trouble, so I moved the door open and tried to check inside, but I found that he was nowhere to be found. Even the jar he had drunk from yesterday was gone.
Suyun and I thought that he might have gotten into trouble after drinking outside, so we went out to look for him. As a result, someone said that they saw him sleeping on the mountain. Before we got there, we met someone else who said that he was injured.
He must have drunk too much and passed out, which is why he was bitten by the wild boar, alas~"
"Drinking? Why does he want to drink?" Lin Ruyan asked Xu Zhenqing.
She remembered that when she was in school, her teacher said that she never drank alcohol.
Xu Zhenqing glanced at her, not knowing whether he should tell the truth. It was because of her that Mo Wuwei drank alcohol, and it was because of her that he got drunk and was bitten by the wild boar.
"He went to drink because he had something on his mind and was in a bad mood."
"Why is he in a bad mood? What happened to him?"
Lin Ruyan knew it was too late to say this now, but Mo Wuwei was so badly injured that she really wanted to find out the truth.
Xu Zhenqing didn't tell her in the end: "I don't know about this. He didn't tell us."
She asked Fang Suyun again, and Fang Suyun gave the same answer as Xu Zhenqing and did not tell her the real answer.
A doctor came over to urge payment, but Lin Ruyan rushed over and said, "I'll go pay it."
Fang Suyun and Xu Zhenqing stopped her. Fang Suyun said, "Miss Lin, it's not okay for you to make the deal. We can do it ourselves."
Lin Ruyan insisted: "Uncle, Auntie, don't worry about it, I'll go and pay it."
She quickly pulled the doctor away.
Xu Zhenqing and Fang Suyun were both very confused. Mo Wuwei was so badly injured, but Lin Ruyan was still willing to spend money on him. Wasn't she going back to the city? Was she leaving?
