Chapter 4 Boiled Eggs

The cabinets are full of supplies.

Jiang Wanyue carefully sorted the things out and put them away.

While she was busy, she heard a sound coming from behind and quickly took a piece of clothing to cover the thing.

I turned around and saw that the boss had woken up.

She lowered her voice and said, "It's not dawn yet, let's sleep a little longer."

Song Huaizhi got up from the bed: "I have to go to school today."

Jiang Wanyue remembered that the boy was seven years old and had just started the first grade. He had taken a few days off because of the funeral of Song Lao Si, so it was time for him to go back to school.

She said, "I'll go make you something to eat."

Generally speaking, when the original person is in a good mood, he will be responsible for the three meals a day of the family. Once he falls into depression, these things have to be done by the eldest son. Most of the time, the original person is depressed.

She is an adult with no physical or mental illness, and she feels embarrassed to rely on a seven-year-old child.

Jiang Wanyue took out a few of her most commonly eaten sweet potatoes from the cupboard, along with a few eggs, and walked towards the kitchen.

"Huaizhi, you are responsible for lighting the fire."

She poured water into the pot, put the eggs in to cook, and put the sweet potatoes on top to steam. The process was not difficult.

Seeing four white eggs lying in the pot, Song Huaizhi paused with the match in his hand and asked involuntarily, "Where did so many eggs come from?"

Jiang Wanyue said casually: "I saved it."

Song Huaizhi pursed his lips and then relaxed: "Aren't you going to sell eggs for stamps?"

"Don't worry about adults' business." Jiang Wanyue rubbed his head and smiled, "Children who think too much will not grow tall. I don't think you want to become a dwarf."

Song Huaizhi's expression froze.

Mom…seemed even weirder, actually joking with him.

He shook his head, not daring to think too much. After lighting the fire in the stove, he hurried to open the chicken coop.

Each family was only allowed to raise two chickens, and these two hens were the most valuable things in their family. He chopped the vegetables carefully, mixed them with some wheat bran, and poured them into the yard for the chickens to eat.

Jiang Wanyue was washing her face with hot water.

Suddenly, a sharp whistle sounded through the air.

Soon after, the village became lively.

The villagers hurried out of their homes and rushed to the fields, and the work day of Xiaojing Production Team began.

The sound of the whistle also woke up the other two children.

Jiang Wanyue entered the room and saw Song Yunying helping Huazi put clothes on. The two siblings were very harmonious.

She actually doesn't like children. She would take a detour when she saw the children of her relatives because they were too naughty and would cry, scream and cause trouble at any time.

And these three children are more sensible than the other.

"Mother……"

When the little guy saw her come in, he immediately stretched out his short little hands towards her.

She couldn't help but picked him up and said, "Let's go wash our faces first."

The towel shared by the family has been used as a rag by her. For the time being, she can only rub the child's face with her hands. After washing her face, she didn't apply any facial moisturizer... Jiang Wanyue sighed for the hundredth time. She will go to the supply and marketing cooperative later and buy everything she needs!

Soon, Song Huaizhi brought breakfast, four steamed sweet potatoes and four eggs.

Song Yunying couldn't help licking her lips: "Mom, are the eggs for us to eat?"

"Of course." Jiang Wanyue sat down at the table, picked up an egg, peeled it, and handed it to the youngest child, "Hua Zi, take it and eat it yourself."

After saying that, she looked at the two older ones and said, "Don't just stand there, eat quickly. You don't want me to help you peel the shells, do you?"

Song Yunying quickly shook her head: "I can do it myself."

When it was just getting light, the family finished their breakfast.

After Song Huaizhi washed the pots and bowls, he carried his schoolbag and went to school.

Song Yunying carried a basket that was almost as tall as herself and said with her head tilted up, "Mom, I'm going to pick up rice ears."

Jiang Wanyue opened her lips and said after a long while: "Then you better be careful."

Picking up a basket of rice ears is worth about one work point. All the half-grown children in the village who have not been to school will be assigned by their families to do this job.

After Song Yunying went to the field, Jiang Wanyue also started to get busy.

She put the money in her pocket first, then put the eggs in a basket, covered them with a piece of cloth, and walked towards the supply and marketing cooperative holding the basket in one hand and the child in the other.

After a night's rest, the original body's memory slowly merged with hers, and she naturally knew the way to the supply and marketing cooperative.

The supply and marketing cooperative is on the other side of the commune, half an hour away.

Jiang Wanyue was holding the child and was very tired. She walked for a while and then took a rest. It felt like she had been walking for almost an hour before she arrived.

She sat on a bench in front of the supply and marketing cooperative, gasping for breath, and suddenly felt as if someone was staring at her. She looked up and saw a woman with two long braids looking at her a few steps away.

She searched through her original body's memories and recognized it.

The person in front of him was an educated youth who went to the countryside in the same year as his original self, named Lin Jin.

When the two first came to Xiaojing Village, they had a dispute over the issue of housing, and they never got along. Later, because the original body couldn't stand the hardship, she married Song Desheng, and was always looked down upon by Lin Jin.

"I heard that you jumped into the river, but you didn't die." Lin Jin said with a face full of sarcasm, "You got married just to be lazy. Tsk tsk, now your man is dead and you have to raise three children by yourself. Otherwise, you can just sell him. You can also marry another man and have more children while you are still young!"

Deep in her sarcastic eyes, there was a hint of barely perceptible envy.

Her biggest obsession was to return to the city, and for this belief, she had always insisted on not getting married.

She also went to the countryside for eight years, working in the fields every day. Her skin became rough and dark, and her palms were covered with calluses.

As for Jiang Wanyue, she is already a mother of three children, but her face does not show any vicissitudes and hardships of life...
