Chapter 63 Secretary Lu is wronged
The next day, Shen Yixiao and I went to the company together.
Before he issued the notice, I posted a penalty notice against Lu Xiaoyun in the company group because she almost lost important company documents, causing panic among everyone.
This is not the authority of the Human Resources Department, but I am the boss of the company, so I have this authority.
Ten minutes later, Shen Yixiao called, "What did you post in the group? You're crazy! Come up!"
Listening to his anxious and angry voice, I curled my lips, calmly stood up and went to the president's office.
Lu Xiaoyun was already in the office. She was crying and silent, as if she had suffered a great injustice.
It's funny how they think I don't know the truth.
"Yixiao, are you blaming me for posting those words in the group?" As soon as I entered the door, I looked helpless and hurt.
Lu Xiaoyun will cry, won’t I?
Tears can also be used as a tool to achieve my goals.
When Shen Yixiao saw my red eyes, the anger on his face instantly dissipated a lot. He wiped the corners of my eyes for me, looking helpless, "How can you put the blame on Secretary Lu? She is innocent."
"I didn't want to, but the file was lost, and everyone in the company knows about it. If everyone knew that it was your fault that caused the panic, then they would definitely talk about you behind your back. I'll take the responsibility, and the consequences will be the same. Didn't Secretary Lu say she was willing to take the responsibility for us? So I... let her down a bit. After all, I did it all for you." I glanced at Lu Xiaoyun as I spoke, looking sad, "Secretary Lu, were you just being polite that day?"
"Boss Shen is so good to you, you must want to share his worries, right?"
My words made Lu Xiaoyun not know what to say, she could only look at Shen Yixiao as if asking for help.
Shen Yixiao frowned. There was no reason to blame me anymore, because what I said made sense.
Seeing that Shen Yixiao didn't speak, Lu Xiaoyun choked up and spoke, "I have no objection, this is what I should do, whether it is the mistake of Mr. Shen or Madam, I am willing to take the responsibility."
I sighed, "Secretary Lu, your CEO Shen didn't tell you, so he just remembered it wrong? He just put it in the safe, it really wasn't my mistake."
Shen Yixiao looked a little strange, his face tense and he didn't say anything.
He wanted to take the blame for Lu Xiaoyun, but he didn't expect that I would care so much about him and directly drag Lu Xiaoyun out to take the blame, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
Lu Xiaoyun bit her lips until they were broken, tears welling up in her eyes, "Boss Shen... told me."
"Secretary Lu, you have been wronged this time. Don't worry. Although I said I would deduct your salary and bonus, I will let Shen Yixiao compensate you, no more and no less." I pretended to be caring and comforted Lu Xiaoyun.
Faced with my kindness, Shen Yixiao and Lu Xiaoyun didn't know what to say. They fell into a ridiculous silence, which I found hilarious just watching.
After a long while, Lu Xiaoyun replied in a low voice, "Okay, ma'am."
After saying that, she said hello to Shen Yixiao and left the office.
As soon as Lu Xiaoyun left, Shen Yixiao scratched his hair, looking annoyed. He sat on the sofa and lit another cigarette. After seeing my look, he put out the cigarette and threw it into the ashtray.
"Are you angry?" I walked over and asked softly.
"No, it's just that you didn't even discuss it with me, so I'm a little unprepared. After all, Secretary Lu works very hard and does a good job. It wouldn't be good if I treated her badly." Shen Yixiao made excuses for himself.
I didn't expose him, but sat down and took his arm, patiently explaining, "I really am thinking about you. Maybe I haven't worked for a long time, so I didn't think it through. Don't blame me. How about I invite Secretary Lu to dinner in private, apologize to her, and ask her to forgive me?"
This surprised Shen Yixiao, “No, she’s just a secretary, she’s paid to do the job, I will compensate her, I can’t ask you to ask her for forgiveness!”
"Well, then you should give her a bigger year-end bonus." I made a suggestion.
Shen Yixiao pulled his hand out, put his arm around my shoulders, sighed inaudibly, and said casually, "Okay, I understand. Honey, you go down and do your work first."
I nodded and stood up to leave.
Lu Xiaoyun was not at her workstation. I asked other people and they said she had gone to the bathroom, so I walked towards the bathroom.
As soon as I arrived at the bathroom, I heard sobbing. Lu Xiaoyun was standing at the sink, wiping her tears. Her weak and helpless figure made people feel pity for her. If you didn't know, you would think she was being bullied.
When she heard the footsteps, she stopped crying, turned her head and saw me, she was stunned for a moment, then glared at me with some resentment, which was completely different from the weak look she had in the office.
"Secretary Lu, why are you crying? Are you blaming me?" I asked straight to the point.
"No, I have no right to blame you. I can only blame myself for not doing well enough." Lu Xiaoyun replied unwillingly, with resentment flashing in her beautiful almond eyes.
I gently comforted her, "It's okay, if you feel that you haven't done well enough, then just work hard to improve yourself in the future."
After saying that, I patted her shoulder, then stood beside her, washed my hands, and left without looking back.
When I returned to the Human Resources Department, I heard some people discussing the contents of the lost document. I didn't know who leaked the news, but they began to worry about whether they would be laid off, whether the company's performance was poor, and whether they would have their salaries cut.
After learning from the group that Lu Xiaoyun had accidentally taken the wrong file, some people discussed going to find her to get the truth.
I listened to them and slowly made a cup of coffee. If Lu Xiaoyun told other people in the company the contents of the document, Shen Yixiao would be furious. If she was unwilling to tell others, she would be talked about behind her back by those people and even isolated.
No matter which path she chooses, it seems that neither one is easy.
——
I returned home first in the evening, and Shen Yixiao stayed in the company to work overtime.
After dinner, I saw Xu Zhengnan’s coat in the bedroom. The maid had washed and dried it, then folded it and placed it on my bed. I walked up to it, picked it up, and looked at it for a while, feeling depressed.
It's so miserable that we can't even be friends.
I thought that if I was a little more humble and took the initiative to make peace, I could win back this former friend. Unfortunately, some people cannot be won back once they are lost.
I packed up the clothes and planned to return them to Xu Zhengnan next time. Then I found the iPad and discovered that Shen Yixiao's WeChat password had been changed and he needed to log in again for verification. He might have received a message for synchronous login before and couldn't find the device, so he changed the password for safety reasons.
"Madam, madam, Miss Su Ying is here!" the servant came up and told me.
