Chapter 1 Time Travel

"hiss--"

Bling opened her eyes with difficulty, feeling a splitting headache. She slowly raised her hand to touch her forehead, and sure enough, it was burning hot.

She sat up after a while, took out fever reducers and a glass of warm water from her storage space, put the medicine in her mouth, took a sip of water, and swallowed.

After performing a few simple movements, she felt dizzy.

After taking the medicine, I let myself collapse onto my Simmons bed.

"Bang—"

"Aww~~"

Bling's vision went black from the impact, but he finally realized that something was wrong with the sensation beneath him. He raised his hand to touch it, only to find a hard bed board.

"Who's so despicable as to steal my bed!"

She was filled with grief and indignation. Even in the apocalypse, was it really necessary to steal even the bed boards? Were they really that poor?

But never mind, let's settle the score after her fever breaks.

She let herself sink into darkness.

When Buling was asleep, she vaguely felt someone touching her head, but her eyelids were too heavy to open her eyes.

"Mom, what do we do when this brat's fever hasn't gone down?" a rough, hoarse male voice asked.

"Never mind her, it's good that she's dead." Hearing that, you can tell this person is a scoundrel.

"But she's dead, who from our family will go to the countryside now?" the harsh voice said.

"Are you stupid? Her death is perfect for the second son. What are you worried about? You're too old. It won't be your turn." A harsh female voice rang out.

"Would Dad agree? That's his own son." The harsh voice hesitated.

"Whether he wants to or not is none of our business. We didn't cause this girl's death, so it's not our fault," the harsh female voice said with exasperation.

"Mom, you're right. It was my sister-in-law who made that brat bring my brother an umbrella in the rain. It has nothing to do with us. If my second brother is upset, he should blame my sister-in-law," the man said, suddenly realizing.

"You're quite clever, no wonder you're my son," the sarcastic female voice said smugly.

"And another thing, your second brother is going to the countryside, then you'll have your own room, and it'll eventually be yours." The sarcastic female voice was calculating rapidly.

"Mom, you're so smart," the man complimented.

In his dazed state, Bu Ling listened to the conversation between the mother and son, and the more he listened, the stranger it seemed.

Going to the countryside?

Has the base recently undertaken any rural relief missions?

Never mind, let's focus on getting better first. Even if there are missions, they have nothing to do with her.

Let go of any strange feelings, discard any chaotic thoughts, and use deep sleep to repair your body.

Bling slept very restlessly. In her dream, she saw the tragic life of a poor little girl.

She was not expected to be born by her mother, but fortunately, her father, grandmother, and brother loved her, so she lived a relatively happy life.

When she was five years old, her father died, her grandmother passed away, and her brother disappeared. She followed her mother to remarry into another family and became their nanny.

Being scolded and hungry while working was commonplace, and she also had to endure the molestation by her stepbrother. Seeing the lewd-looking man touching the young girl's shoulders and waist, Buling was so angry that she woke up.

She sat up abruptly, opened her eyes, but didn't see the lewd man, so she lay back down.

"It's a dream!"

Um?

This doesn't seem to be her room.

Did someone steal her base?

Thinking of this, she couldn't stay in bed any longer.

In the apocalypse, sleeping outside is tantamount to suicide. She hadn't lived enough yet and didn't want to die.

Before she could even open her eyes, she jumped out of bed and assumed a defensive stance.

Despite feeling dizzy, I observed my surroundings.

I found myself in an unfamiliar house

Where is this?

It looks like an old-style residential building.

Looking at the narrow living room, the old-fashioned dining table and chairs, the cement floor, and the cement walls, everything seemed to have a sense of age.

"Mom, what are we having for dinner tonight?" A familiar yet unpleasant voice suddenly rang out from outside the door.

Bling acted faster than she thought; she lay back down on the bed, pretending to be asleep, deciding to remain unchanged in the face of any eventuality.

"Eat, eat, all you know is eating! Do you think I'd starve you?" the harsh female voice scolded.

Bling felt that the two voices seemed familiar.

"Click..." The door opened.

Bling's vision went dark.

Another door slammed shut.

Bling regained his vision

Okay, she thought, she knew where she was sleeping now.

She squinted, peeking through a crack, at the two people who entered.

A mean-looking middle-aged woman and a chubby boy of about ten years old.

The middle-aged woman was wearing black straight-leg pants and an old-fashioned blue top with a diagonal placket and Chinese knot buttons.

The chubby boy was wearing a white shirt, black pants, and old-fashioned sneakers. His waist was so big it looked like a baby bump, even bigger than a woman who had just given birth.

Suddenly, her vision went dark.

Bling quickly closed her eyes

She felt a chubby hand touch her forehead.

"Mom, this brat's fever seems to have gone down a bit." A rough, hoarse male voice rang out above Bu Ling.

"Don't worry about her. If she's lucky, she'll live. If she doesn't, it's just bad luck. Who told her to be such a money-loser? Come here, wash your hands and eat. I specially bought you a big meat bun from the state-run restaurant." The harsh female voice said rudely, but changed her tone when facing the chubby boy.

Bling gritted his teeth, "You worthless piece of trash, your mother..."

Even though the Qing Dynasty is over, is there still an imperial throne to inherit? Why do they still look down on women?

However, state-run restaurants?

Does the base have a state-run restaurant?

This doesn't resemble the state-run restaurant her grandmother described before the reform and opening up.

It's really rare to find state-run restaurants still around.

As the sound of smacking lips rang out, Bling smelled an enticing aroma.
