Chapter 12 Buyi

Just after leaving the island, he received news of his father's sacrifice and his grandmother's passing. Before he could even inquire about his sister, he was asked to take charge of security for a highly confidential laboratory, where he remained for another five years.

He had just been given a vacation a while ago and asked his father's comrade-in-arms to inquire about his sister. The news he received, however, made his eyes widen in horror.

His sister, the lively and adorable little angel he watched grow up to be five years old, had been brutally abused by his stepmother, that vicious woman, for ten years. He couldn't imagine how his Lingling had grown up during those ten years.

He had only one thought in his mind: to go to Los Angeles and bring his sister back. He immediately sent a letter to his sister's teacher and bought a ticket for the next available train to Los Angeles.

Before he could even board the train, he received a call from his superior, asking him to take charge of the handover of a batch of military supplies. He couldn't refuse, so he had no choice but to go.

And so, another seven days were wasted. At that time, he was still thinking that it was fortunate that he had sent a letter to his sister, letting her know that her brother was there for her and that she shouldn't be afraid of anything.

When he returned to his original unit and was about to request leave again, he suddenly heard his superiors asking him about the letter he had sent to his sister.

For some reason, he answered honestly. Only after pressing the leader did he learn that his Lingling, even in such a vicious family, had grown up to be the person he and her father had hoped for.

Bu Ling was still crying, crying her heart out, as if she wanted to cry out all the grievances she had suffered over the past ten years.

Buyi held her close, letting her vent her emotions, completely unconcerned about the stares of others.

Bu Ling cried for more than forty minutes, until her voice was hoarse, before she stopped and stared blankly at Bu Yi.

"Lingling, are you hungry? Let your brother take you to eat," Bu Yi said gently.

"Brother?" Bling called softly.

"Yes, brother is here," Bu Yi replied gently.

"Brother!" Bu Ling's voice was terribly hoarse, but she still insisted on calling him brother.

“Brother won’t leave,” Buyi promised her.

Looking into Bu Yi's gentle yet pitying eyes, Bu Ling's grievances suddenly dissipated, and the immense sorrow in her heart faded considerably.

She understood that this meant the original owner's consciousness had completely dissipated.

"I will take good care of your brother, don't worry, your brother will be my own brother from now on," Bu Ling promised in her heart.

"Lingling, your brother will take you to eat." Bu Yi repeated gently.

Bu Ling raised his head, gave Bu Yi a bright smile, and nodded heavily.
