"Lingling, get up and have breakfast. I bought you some meat buns." Bu Yi's voice rang out from outside the door.
"Brother, I'm up!" Bu Ling opened the door and gave Bu Yi a big smile.
Bu Yi unconsciously rubbed his younger sister's head, but seeing the sorrow in her eyes, he guiltily withdrew his hand.
"Ahem, let's eat!"
Bling thoughtfully refrained from exposing his lie and said cooperatively, "Okay, I'll go wash up."
Walking into the bathroom and seeing the new toiletries warmed my heart.
"Brother, where should we go today?" After washing up, Bu Ling sat at the dining table, picked up a steamed bun, and ate it in small bites.
“The county’s department store, supply and marketing cooperative, cinema, and state-run restaurant,” Buyi told his sister, counting on his fingers.
“Okay, I’ll do whatever you say, brother.” Bu Ling was extremely obedient.
After the two finished their meal, they went downstairs together and ran into Liang Bo from yesterday.
This time, Bu Ling finally saw his face clearly: a baby face with round eyes and chubby lips on wheat-colored skin.
I never expected that someone with such a sharp tongue would have such an adorable baby face.
"Old Bu, are you taking your sister out? Can I come along?" He put his arm around Bu Yi's neck.
"No!" Bu Yi refused.
“Why not? My sister just arrived, and as her older brother, I have to do my best to be a good host,” Liang Boda said shamelessly.
“That’s my sister!” Buyi emphasized.
"Alright, alright, your sister, sister, let's go!" The last sentence was said to Buling.
Knowing he couldn't shake off this clingy guy, he stopped struggling and said to Buling, "Let him come along. He'll pay for it later."
"Okay!" Bling said with a smile.
Liang Boda didn't care at all. He could spend money as he pleased. He was only concerned with his own livelihood, and he was happy to spend the money on Lao Bu's sister.
The three of them drove out of the military compound and headed towards the county town.
Liang Boda chattered incessantly on the way, and time passed quickly.
The car drove into the county town and stopped in front of the department store.
Two tall men with a thin girl—this combination looked suspicious at first glance, if the two men weren't wearing military uniforms.
This was Buling's first time visiting a department store from this era. Her grandmother had told her that department stores were the most coveted places for people back then.
She walked between the two burly men, looking around like a country bumpkin visiting the city, putting on a show of being someone who had never seen the world before.
After looking at it for a while, she lost interest. This department store was not even as big as the supermarket downstairs in her apartment complex.
Upon reaching the counter selling cloth, Bu Yi pulled Bu Ling forward and said to the sales clerk, "Give me ten feet of that pink floral cloth!"
Ten feet!
Pink with floral patterns?
What a horrible combination!
"Wait, wait, brother, do you have that many cloth coupons?" She quickly stopped Bu Yi.
"Lingling, don't worry, your brother has enough tickets." He just exchanged tickets with his comrades yesterday.
“That’s right, little sister, don’t worry, you still have your brother Liang,” Liang Boda added.
Bling was indeed relieved, but she said, "I don't like this color."
“Pick whatever color you like,” Bu Yi said readily.
Bling looked at the black, blue, and gray items on the counter, the only bright spot being the pink one with floral patterns.
She pointed to the black and white striped fabric in the very center and said, "I like this piece."
The saleswoman selling the fabric was a woman in her forties. When she saw the black fabric the little girl pointed to, she picked up the fabric and advised, "Little girl, pink looks better on you."
Bling just smiled and didn't say anything.
Sister, look at my skin color and say that again. Do you feel guilty?
Bu Yi and Liang Boda simply followed the little girl's lead.
After buying the cloth, Bu Yi took Bu Ling to the pastry counter, looking like he was ready to buy the whole thing, and bought a pound of all the pastries.
Bling couldn't stop it
Afterwards, the three of them left the snacks at the counter and went upstairs to the second floor.
The second floor is a place that specializes in selling three major items (high-end clothing, high-end accessories, and high-end garment
Bu Yi dragged Bu Ling straight to the women's ready-to-wear section. Looking at the various dresses and shirts hanging on the counter, he said to Bu Ling, "Lingling, pick whatever you like."
Sure enough, men are most handsome at times like this. She saw the saleswoman glance at her brother shyly several times.
"Brother, since we've bought the fabric, we don't need to buy the finished clothes, right?" The key point of this sentence is the word "brother".
"Could you please get me the blue dress, the white shirt, and the light green dress on the far left?" Bu Yi said directly to the girl at the counter.
The saleswoman selling ready-made clothes was an unmarried girl who blushed as she took down everything Bu Yi wanted.
Bu Yi held up the clothes to Bu Ling and waved his hand, "We'll take them all."
The salesperson then issued a receipt, and Buyi paid.
During this process, the saleswoman looked like she wanted to say something but hesitated, but Bu Yi was so focused on buying something else for her sister that she didn't notice at all.
When they reached the bicycle section, Bu Yi asked, "Lingling, do you like bicycles? It will be more convenient to commute to get off work if you buy one."
Bu Ling quickly stopped him: "Brother, do you have a bicycle ticket?"
Bu Yi froze. He didn't seem to have one. He touched his nose. "I'll go back and find someone to replace it."
“I have it, it’s at home.” Bling raised her eyebrows smugly.
"You're quite something, little sister. You've kept it all hidden. I never knew you were a rich woman," Liang Boda complimented.
"Liang Boda, what are you saying? We're outside." Bu Yi said with a serious expression.
