Chapter 153 The Brother-in-Law's First Approval

Liang Boda and Bu Yi, who were standing at the entrance of the courtyard, heard footsteps, turned around, and saw Bu Ling. Before they could even smile, they saw an eyesore next to Bu Ling.

Bu Yi narrowed his eyes, his expression unfriendly. This guy was practically glued to his sister!

He took two steps forward, forcefully cutting between the two and pushing the mulberry aside: "Lingling, did you know your brother was coming and specially go to buy this meat?"

Bu Ling chuckled twice: "Of course, you're my own brother."

Sangshen was pushed aside, angry but not daring to speak out. She turned around in a wronged manner, intending to stand on the other side of Buling, but Liang Boda beat her to it: "My little sister is so thoughtful, she still remembers to buy meat for her brothers."

Bu Ling just smiled, not daring to reply at all. Sang Shen, on the other hand, was so angry that she was practically turning into a pufferfish. Her cheeks were puffed out, and it took her a long time to calm down before she smiled broadly and said, "Brother, Brother Liang, let's go inside and talk. It's quite hot outside."

Bu Yi glanced at him sideways, pretending not to hear. Who was his brother? What kind of relationship did they have?

Buling chimed in, "Yeah, brother, it's quite sunny outside, let's go inside and talk." But when she turned and saw Sangshen's resentful expression, her rare conscience returned: "Let Sangshen show us his cooking skills, he's a great cook."

After saying that, he gave Sangshen a look, signaling him to behave well.

Sangshen immediately understood, and carrying the meat, she took the lead in opening the courtyard gate: "Brother, Brother Liang, please come in!"

Bu Yi and Liang Boda exchanged a glance, then looked at Bu Ling at the same time.

Bu Ling avoided their gazes, lowered his head and ostrich-likely walked quickly into the courtyard. Bu Yi and the other person followed. Sang Shen was ignored the whole time, but having had a previous experience, he was somewhat prepared. He touched his nose and followed behind the three of them.

Back inside, Bu Ling poured a glass of water for each of them: "Brother, Brother Liang, have some water."

The two did not answer, but instead stared at the mulberry tree as if it were in its own home, their gazes unfriendly.

"Lingling? He...you...you guys?" Liang Boda's voice trembled slightly, and he didn't dare to look at Lao Bu's expression next to him.

"No!" Bu Ling denied it outright: "Brother Liang, what are you thinking? Sangshen also lives in this courtyard. We just occasionally eat together."

Bu Yi's expression softened slightly, but only slightly; the atmosphere around him was still tense and stormy. "What a coincidence, Comrade Sang?"

After pouring the water, Sangshen sat down opposite Bu Yi, meeting his scrutiny without flinching: "It wasn't a coincidence, I did it on purpose."

Before Bu Yi could even launch an attack, Sang Shen spoke first.

"Brother, I'm twenty years old this year. I work as a clerk in the county government. I'm in an administrative position, level 27. My monthly salary is 31.5 yuan, plus various receipts. I promise Lingling will never go hungry again."

"Also, my parents are both dead, and I only have an older brother. Lingling won't have to worry about mother-in-law issues in the future. As for my brother, he is the director of the Revolutionary Committee. He doesn't need me to support him at all, and he often supports me in return."

"Besides, I know traditional Chinese medicine. Brother, you know Lingling's health isn't good. With me here, I can take care of her at any time. I have a lot of savings, so I can definitely support Lingling."

Buyi was stunned by Sangshen's long, rapid-fire speech. For some reason, he felt that what this person said made sense.

"Cough cough, I can do all of that too." Bu Yi regained his senses. Whether it was money or conditioning his body, he was capable of it.

Sangshen, who had apparently studied somewhere, remained completely calm: "But brother, I can be with Lingling at all times, and I can be there for her no matter what happens."

Bu Yi couldn't refute this, because due to the nature of his work, he didn't have much time to spend with his sister.

As if she had found Buyi's weakness, Sangshen intensified her offensive: "I want to be with her, protect her, shelter her from the wind and rain, give her a home, and not let her be all alone anymore."

Bu Yi was completely taken in by Sang Shen's words, and now all he could think about was Bu Ling's pitiful image of eating alone, going to work alone, and bearing everything alone when something happened.

Bu Ling glanced at Sang Shen with surprise. This person has changed a lot in just a few seconds.

Sangshen calmly dropped the final bombshell: "Finally, I'm willing to give Lingling everything I have, and I promise to be devoted to her and never let her down."

Buyi fell silent, only then beginning to take Sangshen's feelings seriously.

As the older brother, he harbored a natural hostility towards anyone who coveted his sister, but even he had to admit that he never expected Sang Shen to go to such lengths.

In his heart, his sister deserved the best of everything. Even if she didn't get married, he could support her for the rest of her life. But as Sangshen said, he couldn't be with his sister, and he couldn't bear to leave her alone forever.

"Lingling, what do you think?" Bu Yi turned to look at Bu Ling, who seemed indifferent to the matter.

After thinking for a moment, Bu Ling met her brother's complicated gaze and said sincerely, "Brother, he's good-looking, a good cook, and rich."

Bu Yi choked, stumped by her answer.

Ignoring the three men's unspeakable gazes, Bling said slowly, "Most importantly, he's good to me."

Although Buling doesn't have much of a conscience, she can still sense whether someone is sincere to her or not. Sangshen is indeed good to her, and her kindness is genuine. If Sangshen is after something, it's obvious to anyone with eyes that she's after her.

At this moment, Liang Boda, who had been listening in for a long time, spoke up: "Words are no proof."

This time, without Sangshen saying anything, Buling stood up and took out a bankbook from the wardrobe: "This is what he gave me."

Bu Yi glanced at Sang Shen, took the package, and opened it. He was momentarily stunned when he saw the numbers. Now he was completely convinced of Sang Shen's sincerity, but it would be difficult for him to agree: "Let's cook."
