Bling: ? ? ?
She glared at Sangshen, glanced at Bu Yi's expression, and offered a vague explanation, embellishing the story considerably.
"That's it, I was just helping out, it's a good thing, right?" Bling frantically shifted the blame.
Bu Yi gave Bu Ling a deep look, but didn't expose her: "Then stop your 'helping others' for a moment, and don't walk into the line of fire, okay?"
"Okay, okay, I understand." Bling smiled somewhat obsequiously.
Sang Shen then realized that he had exposed Xiao Hei Niu's secret, and that he deserved the glare he received.
The reunion dinner lasted until late at night. This time, Bu Yi and Liang Boda didn't drive. By evening, the bus had stopped running, so they had no choice but to squeeze into the mulberry house.
The next morning, the three grown men all had huge dark circles under their eyes, yawned one after another, and looked extremely listless.
You can imagine how uncomfortable it must have been for three grown men to squeeze into one bed.
After having breakfast with Bu Ling, Bu Yi and Liang Boda left.
Bling's life returned to normal, though a few minor incidents occurred along the way.
For example, Han Weiguo was covered with a burlap sack when he went to the toilet late at night.
For example, Aunt Qi from the backyard took her two children to visit her parents and never returned.
For example, Shi Tou secretly told Bu Ling that his aunt Jiang Hua had written again asking for money.
March passed gradually, and April arrived. Recently, Sangshen's mood has been visibly happy, with a smile on her face all day long, which makes the neighbors in the courtyard laugh.
"Little Sang, what's making you so happy?" the eldest son of the Qian family teased Sang.
Mulberry wasn't annoyed: "It's nothing, I'm just happy."
"I think Xiao Sang is getting married, that's why he's all smiles," Brother Wu said, laughing along.
Sangshen remained noncommittal; yes, he was happy because he was getting married.
He's been keeping the little black girl for two years now, and it's finally legal, so can't he be happy about it?
In stark contrast to Sangshen's mood, the brothers Buyi and Liang Boda grew increasingly irritable as the deadline approached, causing their soldiers to complain endlessly.
Bling, the person involved, seemed quite calm. Although she tried her best to integrate into this era, her thoughts were ultimately from later generations.
So what if she wants to get married? It's no big deal. She's rich, beautiful, and has a job, so she has plenty of confidence and doesn't have any pre-wedding anxieties.
Well, the most important thing is that this marriage was definitely worth it!
As May approached, the Sang family in Kyoto also began to get busy, sending out invitations, ordering food, preparing dowry, and making furniture. Grandpa Sang and Uncle Lin were so busy that they couldn't stop running, wishing the whole world would know that their little Qi was getting married.
When Bu Ling got married, a banquet was to be held in Gu County. Sang Shen and Xie Dong took care of all the arrangements, and Bu Ling was happy to be a hands-off manager.
However, there are some things that Bling still needs to decide.
"Lingling, who are you planning to invite for our banquet?" That evening, Sangshen sat at the table, drafting a guest list: "How many tables should we have?"
"Just my colleagues at the restaurant, my good neighbors in the courtyard, oh, and Sister Sun from the department store, my cousin and her husband, that's all." Bu Ling counted on her fingers, and suddenly realized that her social circle was quite narrow.
It's time to expand my social circle, and of course, good-looking people should be given priority.
Sangshen quickly wrote down the names of the people Buling mentioned.
"For the banquet, two or three tables will be enough," Buling said. "We'll see how many people come."
Sangshen nodded and began to write and draw on his guest list, adding and subtracting notes.
A moment later, he handed the prepared list to Buling, "Take a look, is there anyone missing?"
Bu Ling took it, glanced at it briefly, and said, "Let's add Sister Liu."
"Sister Liu? The one in the backyard?" Sang Shen wasn't too keen on it; he felt a little awkward about this woman appearing at his wedding banquet.
“Yes, it’s her!” Seeing Sangshen’s reluctant expression, Buling pinched his cheek: “She even came to visit me after the fight I had with Jiang Hua last time.”
Widow Liu, well, although she's hard to describe in some ways, she's not kind at all, and Bu Ling has a pretty good relationship with her.
Sigh~ Even if she's just a fishmonger, the men she actively pursues are all single, although she's never refused any of the married men who approach her.
Strangely enough, the two actually had a kind of mutual respect. Well, mainly because when facing Aunt Shen, they worked together, so there was some camaraderie between them.
"Fine~" Sangshen could only reluctantly add Widow Liu's name.
As the preparation time approached, the date for the banquet in Gu County was set for May 18th, while the actual banquet would be held in Kyoto on May 20th.
However, before that, there is something more important to do: get the marriage certificate.
On May 15th, Buling changed into the gift her aunt had given her: a bright red dress with a lotus leaf collar, her hair styled in a fishtail braid and loosely draped over her chest, paired with white square-heeled leather shoes. She looked gentle, elegant, and radiant.
Sangshen also dressed up specially, wearing a white shirt, black pants, and white Feiyue shoes. Her hair was combed so slicked back that even a fly would have to do the splits if it landed on it.
Upon seeing this, Bu Ling couldn't help but show a disgusted expression: "How much hairspray did you use on your hair?" It made him look particularly like a traitor.
Sang Shen, oblivious to the scenery, asked, "How is it? Isn't it beautiful?"
Buling shook her head honestly: "How about we reschedule?" She really didn't want to get a marriage certificate with a man with this hairstyle.
