Chapter 180 The Second Wave of the Banquet

Sangshen carried Buling out of the yard and put her on a bicycle decorated with big red flowers, with a cotton pad tied to the back seat.

After confirming that Bling was seated properly, Sangshen sat in front: "Let's go!"

At his call, his friends rode their bicycles and followed behind him.

For this wedding, Sangshen went all out and provided nine bicycles, symbolizing a long and lasting union.

Nine bicycles lined up in a row, parading through the city. Passersby saw the big red flower and knew it was a wedding procession, so they all greeted the riders with kind smiles.

Inside the military compound, the Sang family's villa was already filled with guests. When they saw Sang Shen and her entourage return, Old Master Sang's face immediately lit up with a triumphant smile.

He looked around at his old friends and proudly raised his chin.

The old men present all twitched their lips. What was this old man so proud of? He had seven grandsons, and he only managed to get one granddaughter-in-law!

Sangshen parked her bicycle in front of the villa and held out her hand to Buling: "Come on, I'll hold your hand."

Bling whispered a reminder: "Your feet can't touch the ground."

"Really?" Sangshen replied blankly. He remembered that this was the procedure his aunt had described.

Just then, Auntie, who had rushed over, slapped Mulberry on the shoulder and said, "What are you standing there for?"

Sangshen said aggrievedly, "Auntie, your feet can't touch the ground!"

Aunt Sang was both amused and exasperated: "What are you saying, silly boy? It's time to say something. Are you going to swear an oath behind Lingling's back?"

"oh oh!"

He took Bling's hand, helped her off the bicycle, and the two walked hand in hand into the villa.

This time, Grandpa Sang's desire to gloat was quite obvious. Not only in the house, but also in the yard, several tables were set up and filled with people.

At this moment, everyone saw a young couple walking hand in hand. Regardless of what they were thinking, at least they were smiling.

Under the watchful eyes of everyone, Bu Ling and his companion walked into the house. When Grandpa Sang saw them enter, he burst into laughter: "Good, good, good!"

Sangshen and Buling knelt down and kowtowed to Grandpa Sang: "Grandpa!"

Buling called out, "Grandpa!"

Grandpa Sang, beaming, pulled out a red envelope and handed it to Buling: "Change of address fee."

"Thank you, Grandpa!"

At this time, the wedding was kept simple. Originally, there was no kowtowing ceremony, but Sangshen insisted, so everyone added it.

Next came the oath-taking ceremony. The two stood up, holding small red books, and read the quotations from the portrait of the leader.

"I, Sangshen, willingly marry Buling, and together we will progress and build a better future!"

"I, Buling, willingly marry Sangshen, to progress together and build a better future together!"

"Clap clap clap—"

Congratulations!

And so, the wedding was over. Next came the banquet, but Buling and Sangshen didn't get to eat; they had to offer toasts.

Looking regretfully at the boiled shrimp on the table, Buling turned around and took the wine glass handed to him by his aunt. Today, his uncle and aunt were leading the toast, acting as his parents.

The wedding was attended by many prominent figures, including Grandpa Sang's comrades-in-arms, neighbors from the General Hospital of the Army, and relatives by marriage from various families. After going from table to table, Bu Ling became familiar with the faces, but in reality, she didn't remember anyone.

Fortunately, my aunt had prepared water; otherwise, with so many tables, no one could have kept up. When Bu Ling was toasting, she even had the leisure to count the tables—there were twelve in total. Everyone present was dressed smartly and exuded composure.

No one made any vulgar jokes. Bling received a string of congratulations. Of course, there were also people who were hostile to her, and they were all women.

What doesn't she understand?

However, she was not intimidated and maintained her composure as the principal wife, not even sparing a glance.

After a round of toasts, Buling had drunk her fill of water. When she sat down, she looked at the table full of delicious-looking dishes, ate a little, and then couldn't eat anymore.

As for the plate of prawns she was craving, she didn't touch them at all. How could she possibly peel prawns in this kind of situation? Didn't she have any pride?

The table where Bu Ling was sitting was for the younger generation. Sang's older brother, Bu Yi, and Liang Boda were all sitting at the same table. Sang Shen was to her left, and Bu Yi was to her right.

Seeing that Bling had stopped eating, the two of them asked with concern at the same time.

"Lingling, are you full?" This was Bu Yi.

"What's wrong? Don't you have an appetite?" This was Mulberry, who knew Bling's true appetite.

"Hmm, not really hungry." I'm full after drinking water!

"Shall we go and rest?" said Mulberry.

"Are you full?" Bu Ling asked.

Mulberry nodded: "I'm full!"

"Shall we go?" There are still so many people watching. She doesn't really understand these wedding procedures. The only things she knows are from her aunt's emergency training this morning. But her aunt only said that she doesn't need to worry about anything and just listen to Sangshen.

“What’s wrong with that!” After saying this, Sangshen stood up: “Grandpas and grandmas, uncles and aunts, brothers and sisters, please continue eating, we’ll take our leave first!”

Before he could finish speaking, he grabbed Buling and headed towards the stairwell. A moment later, the two disappeared around the corner.

"That little rascal!" Grandpa Sang laughed and scolded, "Everyone, ignore him, eat, everyone eat!"

It was only later, when Bu Ling attended someone else's wedding, that she learned that it was very impolite for the newlyweds to abandon their guests during the banquet. However, Sang Shen did it anyway, and did it openly and honestly.

Everyone at the table was not surprised at all that Sang Xiaoqi left after eating only half of the mulberries. To be honest, Sang Xiaoqi has done countless astonishing things since she was a child, so this one wouldn't make a difference.
