Bling rolled her eyes. "What are you thinking? I meant we should start counting the money."
Sangshen got a glare and realized that his thinking had gone astray. But how could he be blamed? It was all because Buling's actions were too misunderstood. He felt wronged!
While Sangshen was taking a bath, Buling took out a handbag containing money from the box. Inside were the wedding gifts, the dowry from Bu Yi and Liang Boda, the betrothal gifts and installation fees from the Sang family, and the money from the bicycle and watch.
She thought for a moment and put in the money that Sangshen's brother had secretly given her, as well as the gifts she had received as a greeting, so that it would be easier to keep track of the accounts.
Sangshen showered quickly, coming out in just five minutes. When she came out, she saw Buling sitting cross-legged on the bed with a bag in front of him. He waved to her as he came out.
"Come on, it's time to count the money!"
Mulberry's hair was still dripping wet, and seeing Bling's greedy look, he found it extremely cute. He took two steps onto the bed and sat down next to Bling.
"You can count it yourself, why wait for me?" Anyway, their little black girl manages the money.
Buling was pleased with Sangshen's attitude, but added, "This is our family's money, so of course we have to count it all." She could say nice things too.
Upon hearing the words "our family," Sang Shen immediately felt elated, while Bu Ling was less sentimental. She took the money out of her bag and placed it on the bed.
“I’ll count them, you watch!” said Bling.
The mulberry nodded with a smile.
Buling was only focused on the money and paid no attention to Sangs. She counted the money and gave an account statement.
"This is the dowry given by my brother and Brother Liang, plus the discounted value of the watch, totaling two thousand two."
"This part is the gift your family gave me when we first met, a total of 370."
"This is the secret stash of money your brother and the others gave you, two thousand seven."
"In addition to the betrothal gifts, resettlement allowance, and the depreciated value of your watch and bicycle, it totals 1,500."
"This is the gift money, three hundred and sixty-five yuan."
"Finally, there's the change-of-address fee: 100 for Grandpa, 100 for Uncle and Aunt, 100 for Aunt, 100 for Uncle and Aunt, 400 in total."
"That's a total of 7,535 yuan. We've struck it rich! If this happens a few more times, we'll be..."
"No way!" Sangshen interrupted abruptly.
"Huh? What's wrong?" Bling was still immersed in his fantasy of getting rich and didn't even realize that he had spoken his thoughts out loud.
Sangshen turned Buling's shoulder and said, word by word, "You can only get married this once!"
Looking at the aggrieved look on Sangshen's face, Buling felt a little guilty for a moment, but quickly regained her composure: "I was just saying."
“Talking about it won’t work!” Sangs insisted.
"Okay, okay, I won't say it then." Buling compromised: "Don't worry, I won't abandon you just because of your face."
A glint of light flashed in Sangshen's eyes as she leaned closer to Buling, her voice seductive: "Really?"
Buling nodded affirmatively: "Really!" After all, Sangshen is so rich and so good at making money.
"Then...wife, is it okay?" He moved his face closer and closer as he spoke.
Bling pushed him away ruthlessly: "No, I have to go back to my parents' home tomorrow, I can't sleep in."
Sangshen's handsome face was tilted to the side as he was pushed, "How about tomorrow night?"
Bling stacked the money up and put it in his bag: "We'll talk about it tomorrow."
Sangshen wasn't upset. Not refusing was the same as agreeing, right? He just said that Xiao Hei Niu liked him so much, how could she bear to refuse him?
She put the bag full of money back into the drawer of the cabinet, then paused, thinking of something. She took out ten yuan from the bag, then thought for a moment and exchanged it for a five-yuan note.
Clutching the money, he went back to bed and handed it to Sangshen: "Here, this is your allowance for this month." Then he asked, "You don't mind if I manage the money in our household, right?"
"You can manage it, I'll give you all my salary from now on, and last year's black market earnings too, I'll give them to you when we get back to Hebei Province." Sangzhen loved the way Buling's eyes lit up when he was greedy for money.
Before Sangshen could reach out to take the money, Buling quickly pulled her hand back: "Oh right, I forgot you have a salary. Then I won't give you pocket money this month. I'll give you pocket money after you hand over your secret stash."
Compared to the savings account Sangshen gave her, his salary was really inadequate.
"Do you also run a black market in Kyoto?"
Sangshen shook her head, pulled Buling to sit next to him, and played with her hand: "No, the money in this savings account was left to me by my maternal grandparents, and also by my parents."
Seeing Bu Ling's confusion, he explained to her, "My maternal grandmother's family owned a factory before the founding of the People's Republic of China. Although they handed over all their assets after the founding of the PRC, the country did not treat her unfairly. My grandmother received dividends every year."
“My maternal grandparents only had my mother as their daughter, and my mother passed away shortly after giving birth to me. So I was raised by my maternal grandparents from a young age. Among the younger generation, they loved me the most.”
"I received more than half of my parents' assets, and the rest was left to my brother. Although we no longer receive dividends in recent years, the foundation we have built over the years is still there."
When talking about his maternal grandparents, Sangzhen's eyes showed a hint of nostalgia. He was only half a year old when his parents died on the battlefield, so his maternal grandparents cherished him especially.
He grew up in his maternal grandparents' courtyard until he was nine years old, and was only brought back to the main compound after the two elderly people passed away. He had a deep affection for his maternal grandparents.
Buling sensed the sadness surrounding Sangshen, but she didn't know how to comfort her. Even now, she herself still felt sad when she thought of her mother from her past life.
She simply pried open Sangshen's hand, intertwined her fingers with his, and rested her head on his shoulder: "I'm here."
