Chapter 191 Shared Values

It was Sangzi's secretary who brought back breakfast.

Breakfast wasn't great; it was just a bowl of wild vegetable soup and a cornbread bun for each person, but no one complained.

After the secretary put down breakfast, Sang Zi said, "Xiao Huang, you can go out now."

Secretary Huang nodded, asked no questions, turned and left the office, thoughtfully closing the door behind her.

After the door closed and she heard Secretary Huang's footsteps fade into the distance, Sangshen said impatiently, "Lingling, don't worry, I'm here. I won't let them bully you."

Bu Ling took a bite of her cornbread and smiled sweetly at Sang Shen: "Hmm, I'm not worried." She wasn't someone to be trifled with, and besides, she was a woman with powerful backing.

Sang Zi looked at Bu Ling with an ambiguous expression, and slowly asked, "Sister-in-law, aren't you afraid?"

Upon hearing Sangzi's question, Buling paused in her slurping of the wild vegetable soup, looked at her brother-in-law with clear eyes, and asked, "Brother, what did I do wrong?"

Sang Zi shook her head.

Bling asked, puzzled, "Then why should I be afraid?"

Sang Zi was taken aback by the question, but soon a smile appeared in her bright eyes, which were exactly like mulberry leaves: "Yes, you did nothing wrong, so don't be afraid."

My brother has good taste; the girl he married is a good match for him!

Bling smiled shyly at him, said nothing more, and lowered her head to concentrate on eating.

After finishing their meal, it was getting late. Sangzhen told Sangzi and then left the government building with Buling.

On the way to the state-run restaurant, Buling, sitting on the back of the bicycle, asked curiously, "Don't we have to pay for phone calls?"

Sangshen didn't even turn her head: "What are you thinking? With my brother here, why would it be our turn to pay?"

He said it with absolute confidence.

Buling was a little speechless, but said, "That's true!" Even if they wanted to give it to him, his brother-in-law would probably be too embarrassed to accept it.

Brother-in-law Sangzi: I'm so embarrassed!

After dropping Bu Ling off at the state-run hotel, Sang Shen said as she left, "Don't worry, nothing will happen. I'm here."

Looking at the determination in Sangshen's eyes, Buling secretly tugged at his hand: "Yeah, I'm counting on you!"

Sangshen squeezed Buling's hand, then let go, turned around, got on her bicycle, and rode away. Her back view was very tall!

Sang Shen angrily returned to the government building and went straight to the third floor.

When he arrived at Sangzi's office, he pushed the door open without knocking, slammed the door shut, and walked straight to the phone without saying a word to Sangzi.

Sang Zi, who was behind the desk, had already guessed that he would come back. She was watching him with a relaxed expression, her gloating was impossible to hide.

Sangshen ignored his brother and dialed the phone number at the Kyoto Military Commission compound.

"Beep beep beep—"

"Hello, please connect me to the Sang family!"

After waiting a while, Grandpa Sang's voice came from the other end of the phone.

Upon hearing her grandfather's voice, Sangshen immediately switched to a sobbing mode: "Grandpa~" This cry was melodious and pitiful, clearly indicating that she had been bullied.

Sure enough, Grandpa Sang was heartbroken and quickly comforted his beloved grandson, then asked who had bullied him, saying that Grandpa had stood up for him.

Sangshen wanted to hear his grandfather's words, so he didn't hesitate and recounted what had just happened.

It particularly highlights Uncle Sang's coldness, Bu Ling's sadness, and his own heartbreak; in short, it captures the essence of accusation.

As the little darling of the Sang family, Sang Shen naturally wouldn't stop after hanging up on his grandfather. He then dialed his uncle's number and launched into another tirade of complaints.

Then it was his aunt, and finally his five brothers. He called each of his family members one by one before finally stopping, satisfied.

After hanging up the phone, Sangshen picked up the water in front of his brother and drank it all in one gulp. Even complaining too much can make you thirsty.

Seeing his expression, Sangzi asked jokingly, "How about I call my uncle and give him a good scolding too?"

Sangshen wasn't embarrassed at all. She put down her water glass and said, "That would be perfect."

Looking at his shameless appearance, Sangzi smiled and said, "Wait a while, Uncle is probably very busy right now."

Mulberry nodded.

Meanwhile, Uncle Sang on the other side was not just busy, he was absolutely swamped.

Ever since Sang Shen hung up on her, Sang Li had been feeling very uneasy. At this time, some oblivious subordinates even suggested asking Bu Ling's boss and brother to put pressure on her.

Sang Li immediately rebuked, "That's enough! That's a martyr's child."

After speaking, seeing that his subordinate still didn't quite understand, Sang Li could only suppress his anxiety and patiently explain to him:

“It’s perfectly normal that this young girl has suffered under our noses for so many years and finally escaped this quagmire, so she doesn’t want to get involved anymore.”

"Besides, we don't have the right to force others to cooperate with us, especially since she is the daughter of a martyr and the sister of a soldier, who previously helped us uncover a group of undercover agents."

As Sang Li said this, he felt a little guilty. He realized that Sang Li wasn't ignorant of these principles; he was just taking advantage of the fact that he was Xiao Qi's uncle and thought that Bu Ling would give him face.

Thinking about this, he sighed, feeling that what he had done was utterly disgraceful...

Before he could finish lamenting and blaming himself, the phone in his office rang again, and Sang Li's heart skipped a beat.

He answered the phone, and sure enough, he was met with a barrage of scolding from his own father.

Finally, the call ended with the old man saying, "Sang Xiaosan, I don't have a son like you," before he hung up without any hesitation.

Sang Li: ....
