Chapter 193 Whispers in the Night?

That evening, Buling said indignantly to Sangshen, "Tell me, isn't he going too far?"

Sangshen listened with a smile, nodding occasionally to appear attentive. In reality, seeing that Buling seemed completely unaffected, he was quite grateful to Liang Boda.

Thanks to him, otherwise he would be the one being complained about today. Compared to that, let Liang Boda take the blame!

"That's outrageous! How could I not tell you something so important?" Sangshen said indignantly.

"That's right!"

Tonight, Sangshen specially made twice-cooked pork, which is Buling's favorite dish, as an apology, since it was his uncle's fault.

But now, it can be considered Liang Boda's last meal before his execution.

Because Bu Ling has taken a day off tomorrow and is about to go back, Liang Boda's fate is predictable.

But what does it have to do with him? He's just an ordinary person who tries to shift blame.

During the meal, Sangshen diligently served meat to Buling.

At night, Bu Ling, who was fast asleep, opened his eyes, a look of pain flashing in them. He quickly rolled over and got up, stepping over the mulberry tree that was sleeping outside to get off the kang (a heated brick bed).

Halfway up, Sangshen grabbed his arm: "Lingling?" His voice had a thick nasal tone.

"I need to use the restroom!" Buling said, shaking off Sangshen's hand.

Mulberry, her eyes wide with sleepiness, sat up and said, "I'll go with you."

Bling didn't refuse him and put on her shoes herself, saying, "Hurry up!" she urged.

Sangshen nodded, quickly put on her clothes, slipped on her shoes, and grabbed a flashlight: "Let's go."

Bling turned and left; she felt too ashamed to face anyone if she lingered any longer.

The two walked out of the courtyard with light steps, but the gate was actually open? This thought flashed through Bu Ling's mind, but she didn't pay it any mind, assuming that Yu Dabao had forgotten to lock the gate.

When Buling came out of the toilet, she felt completely drained. Supported by Sangshen, she walked back with weak steps.

Just as I reached the gate of the compound, I heard someone say, "Brother Qi, you're off work so late?"

Bling: ? ? ?

Bling: !!!

Is that Aunt Shen's voice?

Aunt Shen and Engineer Qi?

In the middle of the night?

Her eyes suddenly lit up, her legs stopped feeling weak, and her stomach stopped hurting. She grabbed the mulberry and secretly hid in a corner, listening to the commotion over there.

The mulberries were also very cooperative.

"Yes, Sister Shen, is there anything I can help you with?" Engineer Qi's voice was filled with exhaustion.

"Look at what you're saying, brother. Can't your older sister talk to you if there's nothing wrong?" Aunt Shen's gentle voice came, and Bu Ling shuddered.

Upon seeing this, Sangshen immediately asked with concern, "Are you cold?"

Bling hissed twice and replied in a low voice, "I'm not cold, I just feel a bit chilly."

The mulberry tree remained silent.

Clearly, Bu Ling wasn't the only one feeling the chill; Qi Gong over there didn't answer for a moment either.

After a long pause, Engineer Qi's voice finally rang out: "Sister Shen, is there something you need? If not, I'm going back to rest."

After saying that, he was about to walk past Aunt Shen and continue walking into the courtyard.

Buling and Sangs panicked and hurriedly tried to slip away.

"Stop right there, Brother Qi. You don't want your daughter's affair to be known throughout the whole county, do you?" Aunt Shen said, her previous gentle demeanor completely changed.

These words were indeed very effective. Qi Gong immediately stopped and turned to look at Aunt Shen. "Sister Shen, what do you mean?"

Late at night, Aunt Shen's old eyes gleamed with shrewdness. "Brother Qi, why did your daughter faint last time? Was it really that Han family brat who pushed her?"

Qi pushed up his glasses, concealing the anger in his eyes: "Of course!"

Aunt Shen chuckled, a chilling laugh, before saying, "Brother Qi is such a good father, I just wonder if your daughter appreciates it?"

Qi Gong remained silent.

Aunt Shen pressed on: "Brother Qi, I don't need much. Just give me that job quota at the machinery factory, and I promise to keep your daughter's matter a secret."

Behind the door, Bu Ling and Sang Shen looked at each other in surprise. They had thought it was just a small cucumber, but it turned out to be a spy cucumber.

That said, Aunt Shen is quite something. So far, there hasn't been a single word about Qi Yuhuai's matter in the courtyard. How did she find out?

Engineer Qi flatly refused: "Impossible! Sister Shen, I don't know what you know, but you think you can get a job from me with just a few words? You're underestimating me."

Instead of getting angry, Aunt Shen laughed: "Brother Qi, what can I say to you? Do you think I would dare to offend you, the factory director's favorite, if I didn't have evidence?"

These words made Qi Gong frown deeply. He remained silent, looking at Aunt Shen, waiting for her to continue.

"It was October 19th last year, Dr. Wang Haiyan. Brother Qi has such a good memory, surely you won't forget?" Aunt Shen said confidently.

Qi Gong pinched the bridge of his nose. "Sister Shen, what are you talking about?" He was determined to play dumb.

"Brother Qi, don't play dumb with me. I'll wait for you for three days. After three days, I hope you'll give me a satisfactory answer. Otherwise, don't blame me for disregarding our neighborly relationship," Aunt Shen threatened.

After saying that, she didn't give Engineer Qi any time to react and was about to return to the compound.

Buling and Sangshen, who had been eavesdropping behind the door, immediately tiptoed back into the house, closed the door, and turned off the lights.

A moment later, the two sat cross-legged facing each other on the kang (a heated brick bed), both somewhat speechless.

"Tell me, how did Aunt Shen find out about this?" Bu Ling was incredibly curious.
