"Is that so?" Bling looked down for a moment, but quickly smiled again: "It's okay, then we can go talk under the tree over there. I just missed you guys, nothing else important."
Upon hearing this, Liang Boda and Bu Yi both softened their expressions. They were pulled by Bu Ling on either side, but they did not resist and followed her lead to the tree.
After they stopped, Bu Ling went straight to the point: "Brother, Brother Liang, I heard from Brother Sangzi that the county town might be in chaos for a while, so be careful."
Bu Yi and Liang Boda exchanged a glance, and then Liang Boda said with a grin, "Little sister is so thoughtful. Don't worry, your brothers know and will be careful."
After confirming that they had listened, Bu Ling nodded. She didn't ask them what they knew, but gave them a few instructions before changing the subject: "Brother Liang, how are things going with Sister Lin?"
Caught off guard by the question, Liang Boda blushed slightly and, facing Bu Ling's intense gaze, replied, "It's just like that!"
"What do you mean by 'that'? When are they getting married? Have you met their parents?" Bu Ling asked a barrage of questions.
Even Bu Yi chimed in: "Yeah, Lao Liang, when are you planning to get married?"
Liang Boda grinned broadly from his baby face: "Lin Shen said he'd take me home to meet his parents this Mid-Autumn Festival, and if possible, we'll get married this winter."
"Really? That's great! I'll give you a big red envelope then!" Bu Ling was genuinely happy for Liang Boda.
Buyi also said, "Me too!"
When Liang Boda saw the two of them, and thought of Lin Shen, his round eyes lit up!
Seeing Liang Boda's happy face, Bu Ling's heart softened. After so much time and effort spent together, she truly considered Liang Boda as family. Seeing him happy now made her very happy too.
However, when she saw Bu Yi next to her, her smile faltered. She wondered what his past was like and whether he could move on. She would ask him in a while.
Bu Yi and Liang Boda didn't stay long either. They exchanged a few words with Bu Ling and then had to leave, truly a case of coming and going in a hurry...
Bling watched them disappear around the corner before going back to find her dear friends and walking home together.
