In the evening, after reporting on the mission to Bu Yi and Liang Boda, they headed towards the family compound.
"Hey? Old Bu, did you tell your sister about this mission?" Liang Boda nudged Bu Yi with his elbow.
Bu Yi shook his head and glanced at him: "Don't say anything more."
Liang Boda's round eyes were full of mischief: "Then beg me?"
Buyi clenched his fists twice, without saying a word, but his words were full of threat.
Liang Boda immediately shut up.
But he only kept quiet for a short while before starting to chatter again: "Old Bu, shall we go see my sister tonight? It's been so long, I've missed her terribly."
Bu Yi thought for a moment and said, "Okay, go borrow a car."
"Okay!" Liang Boda replied cheerfully, then turned back and went to the logistics department to borrow a car.
Buyi went home to change his clothes and packed some things for his sister before waiting at the entrance of the family compound.
"Commander Bu!" The soldier guarding the gate saluted.
Bu Yi nodded slightly.
After saluting, the soldier lowered his arm and said, "Commander Bu, there's a letter for you." He then took a letter from the guard booth next to him.
"It was sent a few days ago. You were on a mission and not here at the time, so it was left at the guard post," the soldier explained.
Bu Yi took the letter: "Thank you." He glanced at the mailing address, his expression immediately turning serious.
He looked around, found a corner, opened the letter, and read it quickly. His face turned very ugly, and he let his hand fall down, squeezing the letter tightly.
When Liang Boda drove over, he saw Bu Yi standing in the corner, his head down so his expression was hard to read, but the aura emanating from him was enough to freeze a person to death.
He parked the car on the side of the road, got out, walked over to Bu Yi, and asked with concern, "What's wrong? What happened?" As he spoke, he took the letter from Bu Yi's hand, read it quickly, and his face darkened.
"What do you plan to do?" Liang Boda asked Bu Yi.
Buyi replied without hesitation, "I have to go."
Liang Boda immediately said, "I'll go with you."
Bu Yi shook his head: "No need, it would be too conspicuous for two people to go, I can go by myself."
Just as Liang Boda was about to say something, Bu Yi stopped him: "Listen to me."
"Alright," Liang Boda reluctantly agreed, "So, are we still going to see my sister tonight?"
Bu Yi thought for a moment and said, "Go, when we get to the county town, we'll buy tickets first, then go to Lingling's for dinner and tell her."
After finishing speaking, Bu Yi said, "I need to ask my supervisor for leave first."
Liang Boda stuffed the letter back into the envelope and put it in Bu Yi's pocket. "Okay, let's go then."
Bu Yi got into the car without saying a word, and Liang Boda followed and sat in the driver's seat.
A moment later, the jeep left the gate of the family compound and headed towards the county town. Once there, the two went to the train station to buy a train ticket to Chengdu, then went to the post office to send a telegram before heading to the state-run restaurant.
So, while Bu Ling was busy as a bee, she received her surprise for the day: "Brother, Brother Liang!"
"Lingling!" Bu Yi
"Sister!" Liang Boda
Just as Bu Ling was about to say something, someone came to the counter to order. She quickly said, "Brother, you and Brother Liang find a place to wait for me. I'll be done in a bit." There wasn't much food left.
Bu Yi and Liang Boda nodded. "We'll wait for you outside." The state-run restaurant was packed; there wasn't any room left.
Bling then asked, "How did you get here?"
"I came by car."
"Alright, wait for me for fifteen minutes."
"It's alright, we're not in a hurry," Bu Yi said softly.
Soon, the evening's food was sold out. Buling hung up the "Sold Out" sign, closed the glass counter, and left the restaurant.
Looking around, he spotted the Jeep, walked over, opened the door, and sat in the back seat: "Hey bro, do you guys have enough time tonight? Let's grab some dinner together!"
After saying that, she said in a coquettish tone, "I haven't eaten with you guys in so long. Last time I went home, none of you were here."
Hearing Bu Ling say this, the two of them felt a little guilty. Liang Boda immediately said, "There is enough time. Since my sister has said so, we would be more than happy to accept it."
Buling then smiled and said, "Alright, wait for me a moment. I'll go back and settle the accounts first, then we'll go home."
Buyi smiled and turned his head, saying, "Okay, we're not in a hurry."
Bu Ling was in a good mood. She went back to the hotel to settle the accounts with Manager Zhu and Grandpa Tan, then picked up her bag and left the hotel.
"Brother, let's go to the county hospital, the one next to Xie Dong's house." Bu Ling pointed the way. Since they were going to eat with their brothers, they naturally had to eat something good; the courtyard was not suitable.
Liang Boda knew that was Sangshen's house, so he didn't ask any questions and drove on obediently. When they passed the government building, Buling said, "Brother, stop for a moment. I'll tell Sangshen to go directly to the house near the county hospital."
"Okay, go ahead."
Bling got out of the car and went straight to Sangshen's office: "Sangshen!"
Sangshen turned around in response: "Lingling, what brings you here?"
Buling greeted his colleagues and pulled him to the corner of the stairs: "My brother is here to see me. We're going to stay at the house near the county hospital tonight. Go home after get off work and get some food, then we'll go straight there."
Sangshen said without hesitation, "Okay, I'll go now. It's almost time to get off work anyway."
Bu Ling was already used to his slacking off, so he didn't say anything, turned around and left the building. "Brother, let's go."
The car started moving again, and a few minutes later, it stopped in an alley next to the county hospital. Bu Ling took out his keys, opened the gate, and Liang Boda and Bu Yi followed him inside.
