Chapter 24 Onboarding

Time flies, and soon it was time for Buyi to return to her unit. Just then, Buyi's supervisor returned from a business trip, bringing back Buling's certificate for transferring her grain rations, as well as her graduation certificate.

Bu Yi immediately pleaded with his superiors to give him another day off.

The leader, worn down by the persistent pleading, finally agreed, but on the condition that he would not receive any vacation for the next six months.

In order to send his sister to work, Buyi gritted his teeth and agreed to this unequal treaty.

Liang Boda somehow managed to get a day off and planned to go with Lao Bu to take his sister to work.

That morning, Bu Yi drove, Bu Ling sat in the passenger seat, and Liang Boda sat in the back seat. The three of them headed towards the county town.

All the way there, Liang Boda kept babbling on and on, as if he were the one getting ready to go to work today.

"Little sister, I always said you looked better with the hair clip I bought you last time," Liang Boda said resentfully.

Bling just smiled and didn't say anything.

Today she wore a loose braid, a white shirt, black straight-leg pants, and white sneakers, going for a clean and refreshing look. Why wear a bright red hair clip? Is she trying to make her look darker than she is?

The three drove to the entrance of the state-run restaurant. It was only nine o'clock in the morning, and the restaurant had just opened.

When the waitress, Sister Zhang, arrived, she saw the three people waiting under the shade of the tree. She turned around and walked up to them, asking, "Brother, sister, what's going on?"

"Sister Zhang, we're here to transfer the ownership!" Bu Ling said.

Sister Zhang was overjoyed and pulled Bu Ling's hand into the state-run restaurant: "Let me tell you, the manager is here early today, so I'll transfer the job to you in front of him and have him process your onboarding."

Bling was dragged forward

Sister Zhang was still advising, "Little sister, just say you're my aunt's cousin. Let's not give people anything to gossip about."

"I understand, Sister Zhang." Bu Ling was quite perceptive.

Sister Zhang patted her hand with satisfaction.

He dragged Bu Ling straight to the kitchen of the state-run restaurant. There was an office next to it, which belonged to the restaurant manager.

"Knock—knock knock—"

"Enter!"

Sister Zhang pushed open the door and pulled Bu Ling into the manager's office.

The manager of the state-run restaurant looked at the two people who entered with a serious expression: "What is it?"

"Manager Zhu, this is my cousin from my aunt's side. I'm planning to give her my job, so I came here to ask you to help me with her onboarding," Sister Zhang said with a smile.

Manager Zhu raised an eyebrow. What cousin from his aunt's side? She must be someone who bought a job. But this was an unspoken understanding, and he wouldn't deliberately make things difficult for her.

He looked at Bling and asked, "Did you bring all the materials?"

Looking at the face that was exactly the same as the one in her dream, Bu Ling nodded, took out her graduation certificate, grain ration certificate, and household registration certificate from her bag, and arranged them in order on Manager Zhu's desk.

Manager Zhu glanced at it and didn't say anything more. He handed her an application form and said, "Once you fill it out, you're officially hired."

Buling bowed to Manager Zhu, took out a pen from his bag, filled out the job application form, and handed it to Manager Zhu.

Manager Zhu glanced at it, found no problems, took out the company seal from the drawer, stamped it, and handed the form to Bu Ling: "When can you come to work?"

“Anytime!” Bling replied decisively.

Manager Zhu smiled with satisfaction, showing his good judgment: "Then let's do it tomorrow. Xiao Zhang, you can introduce your job to your cousin today, and you don't need to come in tomorrow."

"Thank you, Manager Zhu. My cousin is very smart and will definitely be able to handle this job," Sister Zhang said with a smile.

Manager Zhu smiled but didn't reply.

Sister Zhang tactfully led Bu Ling out of the office.

Outside the office, Sister Zhang said to Bu Ling, "Girl, my job is really not difficult. As long as you can calculate the money and bills correctly, you're good to go."

"Don't worry, Sister Zhang, I had excellent grades in high school!" The original owner's was hers.

Thinking about her high school diploma, Sister Zhang felt that she could easily make some money.

She continued, "The state-run restaurant's hours are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., then from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., it's not a long time." She was very reluctant to give up her job.

Bling nodded, indicating that he understood.

Sister Zhang then took Bu Ling to the kitchen.

Pointing to a young man chopping vegetables, he said, "This is Han Yu, a kitchen helper at our state-run restaurant. He's twenty-four years old. You can just call him Comrade Han." He had originally intended to call him Brother Han, but then thought it wouldn't be appropriate.

Bling nodded.

Upon hearing Sister Zhang's introduction, the young man chopping vegetables turned around, looked at Bu Ling standing next to Sister Zhang, and asked with a smile, "Sister Zhang, who is this? Is he your child?"

Bling: I feel offended

Sister Zhang glared at him and said, "What are you saying, you rascal? This is my cousin from my aunt's side. I'm going to join the army, so I gave up my job to her."

Han Yu smiled and winked at Sister Zhang, then said in a drawn-out voice, "So you're Sister Zhang's cousin!"

Sister Zhang ignored him and said to the thin woman sitting on the other side, "Sister Ma, this is my aunt's cousin."

Sister Ma nodded and gave Bu Ling a kind smile.

Sister Zhang then said to Bu Ling, "Sister Ma is in charge of the hygiene of our state-run restaurant."

"Hello, Sister Ma!" Bu Ling extended her hand and shook hands with Sister Ma.

Sister Zhang added, "We have another kitchen helper in our state-run restaurant, named Tan Xiao. She's a woman, two years older than you." As she spoke, she looked around and said, "However, she hasn't arrived yet."

Bling was surprised, but nodded calmly.
