Chapter 241 Aunt Xu Arrives

Bu Ling is unaware of Xie Dong's experimental results yet, but something else is right in front of her now.

That means new people are coming to the courtyard again, and two families are coming at once, so they've allocated all three rooms in the backyard.

That evening, Bu Ling and Wu Yuanyuan had just finished get off work when they encountered Aunt Wu leading the two newly moved-in families from house to house, introducing them to each other.

“Sister-in-law Xu?” Bu Ling exclaimed in surprise when she saw one of the familiar figures.

Sister-in-law Xu turned around in response: "Comrade Buling, you live in this courtyard too?"

Bu Ling nodded and walked up to Sister-in-law Xu. "Sister-in-law Xu, have you moved into our yard?"

Sister-in-law Xu nodded with a smile: "That's good. I was worried I wouldn't be able to adapt. Seeing Comrade Buling here makes me feel much more at ease."

Bu Ling smiled but didn't say anything. He was speechless at Brother Sang's behavior. It was obvious that he was just trying to get them to take care of Sister-in-law Xu.

Upon seeing this, Aunt Wu couldn't help but ask, "Xiao Bu, do you two know each other?"

Bu Ling, with her bag slung over her shoulder and hands tucked in, said, "Well, we know each other; she's a relative from my husband's side of the family."

Aunt Wu looked at him with an "I see" expression and exclaimed, "What a coincidence! Sister Xu, since you know Xiao Bu, I won't go into any more details."

Then, she pointed to another young couple and said, "Xiao Bu, these are Xiao Sun and Xiao Liu, who are new to our compound. They are both workers at the machinery factory and live in Grandma Zheng's room in the backyard."

Following the direction Aunt Wu pointed, Bu Ling saw a kind-looking couple smiling gently at her.

She nodded and said, "Hello, my name is Buling."

The man quickly said, "Hello, my name is Sun Siqing." As he spoke, his wife handed him six pieces of candy, saying, "Comrade Buling, have some candy."

Bling took it and thanked him.

At this moment, Sister-in-law Xu hurriedly took out her gift, a small bag of pine nuts, and said, "Comrade Buling, please have some pine nuts."

Bu Ling accepted the gift as well, thanked her, and then said, "Aunt Wu, I won't bother you any longer. You can continue with your work. I'll head back now."

Afterwards, she nodded to Sister-in-law Xu and the other two, turned around and went back into the house. Only after she closed the door did Aunt Wu continue to introduce the neighbors in the courtyard.

That evening, when Sangshen returned and learned that Sister-in-law Xu had moved into their courtyard, he couldn't help but curse his elder brother inwardly, thinking that his plan was too cunning.

"I'll call him and give him a piece of my mind tomorrow!" he said angrily. "He's so cunning!"

This is clearly aimed at him and Lingling.

Bu Ling waved his hand: "Forget it, she is, after all, the widow of my brother's comrade-in-arms. I'll lend a hand if I can in the future."

Sang Shen was all talk and no action. Hearing what Bu Ling said, he quieted down, even though he was still cursing his older brother in his heart.

"You're right, let's lend a hand if we can, just for our big brother."

Bling nodded and yawned. "Well, that's settled then." They're already here; what else can we do?

"I'm hungry, what should we eat tonight?" Buling sprawled out on the recliner. She was three months pregnant and was already experiencing some pregnancy symptoms: drowsiness, fatigue, and increased appetite, so she was getting hungry very quickly.

Sangshen stood up, took a wool blanket, covered Buling with it, and then took out two potatoes from the cupboard: "We still have meat, how about stewing the potatoes with meat?"

Buling had no objection: "Let's add some glass noodles, they're delicious."

Mulberry readily agreed: "Okay."

Just as Sangshen was about to start cooking, there was a knock on the door: "Brother Sang, it's me!"

Bu Ling opened her eyes, and Sang Shen put down the kitchen knife and opened the door, "Sister-in-law Xu."

Sister-in-law Xu led the three girls, including Da Ya, to stand outside the door. When the door opened, she tugged at San Ya's hand and said, "Quick, call out to them."

Daya, Erya, and Sanya called out in unison, "Hello, Uncle Xiaosang!"

Sangshen was puzzled as to why the mother and her three daughters had come to his door, but he still smiled gently and said, "Hello." Then he turned to Sister-in-law Xu and said, "Sister-in-law Xu, please come in and talk. It's cold outside."

Sister-in-law Xu led her three daughters into the house. Sangshen brought them stools, and Buling stood up to pour each of them a bowl of water. "Sister-in-law Xu, Daya, Erya, and Sanya, have some water."

"Thank you, Comrade Buling!"

"Thank you, Aunt Bu!"

Bling waved his hand and sat back down on the recliner.

Seeing this, Sangshen sighed inwardly and could only speak up herself: "Sister Xu, have you had dinner yet? We just started cooking, why don't you eat here?"

Sister-in-law Xu quickly shook her head: "No, Brother Sang, we've already eaten. I came here to ask you about the situation in the yard."

"I see, Sister Xu. What do you want to know? Just ask, and I'll tell you everything I know," Sangshen said readily.

"I just wanted to ask, are the neighbors around here easy to get along with? Or are there any taboos?" Mrs. Xu asked tactfully.

Because of her past experiences, she habitually wants to understand everything around her in order to determine her next course of action.

Seeing her like this, Sangshen simply explained to her: "Our courtyard is a two-section courtyard. The people are not complicated. Most of them are employees of the machinery factory, and the neighbors are all easy to get along with."

"Besides, you need to be careful around Aunt Shen in the backyard, as well as Aunt Qi and her mother. The rest of the neighbors are all easy to get along with," Sangshen said succinctly.

At this moment, Bu Ling added leisurely, "And there's Aunt Lan from the front yard. She loves to pry into other people's secrets and spread them around. And her husband, Uncle Wang, Aunt Xu, you must pay close attention to the principles behind that old man..."

Bu Ling glanced at the three girls blinking and changed her words to a more elegant one: "Old in years, but young at heart!"
