Sure enough, the backyard was bustling with activity.
The group of people from earlier are now standing in front of the Qi family's gate in the backyard. A burly woman is standing at the door, spitting as she talks to her relatives!
Behind her were two women supporting a pale-faced woman, trying their best to comfort her.
Then there were the men, ranging from old to young, more than a dozen at a glance, standing there with an imposing presence.
Wu Yuanyuan and Bu Ling quietly walked to the backyard. As soon as they got there, Aunt Zhao grabbed them and dragged them into her house: "You two, calm down! Don't you know your own situation? You still dare to go any further!"
Wu Yuanyuan quickly tried to appease her: "Mom, we didn't plan to raise the money. We just got home from get off work."
“Yes, yes, I just wanted to sit with Yuanyuan for a while and chat,” Buling chimed in.
Aunt Zhao glanced at the two of them, said nothing, but moved two stools to the window and said, "Why don't you sit down and chat?"
Bu Ling smiled gratefully: "Thank you, Aunt Zhao!"
"Thank you, Mom!"
Aunt Zhao gestured towards the two of them and instructed, "Watch from here, don't go out!"
"Okay!" they both said in unison.
Seeing that they agreed, Aunt Zhao didn't say anything more. She went inside and poured each of them a cup of hot water, saying, "Drink something hot to warm yourself up." After saying that, she took a few walnuts and placed them in front of them: "Have some fun cracking them open!"
Then the two of them sat by the window, cracking walnuts and occasionally taking a sip of hot water, looking every bit the part of watching a show.
“Ling, look, that sobbing woman is Hu Sigu’s wife, and the one cursing in front is her older sister. They caused a scene last night,” Wu Yuanyuan pointed out to Bu Ling.
"And the two women supporting Hu Sigu's wife on either side are her sisters-in-law, and the dozen or so men behind them are the adult males of her family."
As Wu Yuanyuan introduced them, Buling made face to face with each of them. "Sister Yuanyuan, you know a lot about this field!"
Wu Yuanyuan was so happy to be praised that she grinned from ear to ear: "Oh, not at all. To be honest, Hu Sigu's wife is actually related to our family."
Bu Ling glanced sideways in surprise: "A relative?"
Wu Yuanyuan cracked open a walnut and carefully removed the kernel: "That's right, that person is my dad's aunt's younger sister's daughter-in-law's cousin, so we're related by blood!"
Bling's lips twitched: "Can you even figure this out yourself?"
Wu Yuanyuan shook her head: "No, but my mom can!"
Just as Bu Ling was about to say something, she felt Wu Yuanyuan grab her arm: "Look, someone from the Qi family has come out!"
Buling's attention was immediately diverted, and he looked outside. Sure enough, after pretending to be a grandson for so long, someone from the Qi family finally came out. And the one who came out was none other than Old Madam Shi's own daughter, Aunt Qi.
Aunt Qi emerged from the house with a livid face. Facing so many people from Hu Sigu's wife's family, she felt somewhat intimidated, but then, as if remembering something, she quickly straightened her back.
"What's all the noise about! What's all the noise about! You have no manners!" Aunt Qi started yelling right away!
"Pah! You have manners! If you had manners, your mother would do such a shameless thing! She's practically half-buried, and she's still trying to find a man like a young girl! It's laughable!" Hu Sigu's sister-in-law was clearly a tough one.
Aunt Qi retorted, not to be outdone: "Isn't that because your sister can't keep her man?"
"Waaaaah~" Hu Sigu's wife could only cry.
Hu Sigu's sister-in-law was furious when her sister cried like that. Despite the large number of people there, she knew in her heart that both sides were at fault.
They originally wanted to have a proper conversation with the Qi family to see if they could find a way to get the two people out, but unfortunately, Aunt Qi's mouth was just too infuriating.
With a creak, the door of the Qi family opened again, and Grandpa Qi and Grandma Qi tried to come out with their arms around each other. Facing Hu Sigu's wife and her family, as well as the neighbors who were watching the commotion, the two old people were obviously a little embarrassed, but they still forced themselves to say, "Everyone, come in and talk, come in and talk, it's so cold outside."

As soon as the two stepped out of the house, they saw Sangshen walking towards the backyard. "Lingling, are you done?"
Bu Ling put her index finger to her lips and lowered her voice, saying, "No, we're going inside to talk now. Sister Yuan Yuan and I are planning to sit with Sister Ru for a while. Do you want to come?"
“I’m not going. I’ll go sit in Jiang Sheng’s room for a while!” Sangshen shook her head and said instead.
"Alright, go ahead!" After saying that, Bu Ling took Wu Yuanyuan's arm and walked quickly toward Ming Xiangru's house.
"Sister Xiangru, are you home?"
As soon as Bling knocked on the door, it opened.
Ming Xiangru opened the door and saw the two of them. She knew why they had come. She smiled bitterly and said, "Come in."
