"Thank you, Aunt Zhao, I understand," Bu Ling said obediently.
Aunt Zhao was very satisfied to see her like this and said, "Sister Tian, I won't keep you any longer. There are still several families left."
Aunt Tian nodded and led Bu Ling towards the main house.
Aunt Zhao watched their backs for two seconds, then turned and went back into the house.
The main house in the backyard was also divided in two, and Aunt Tian took Buling to the house on the west side first.
"Brother Li, are you there?" Aunt Tian called out.
"Yes, Sister Tian." A middle-aged man came out of the house in response.
“Brother Li, this is Buling, who just moved into our courtyard. I brought her here to introduce her to the place.” After saying that, Aunt Tian looked at Buling and said, “This is your Uncle Li.”
"Hello, Uncle Li, please have some candy," Bu Ling said.
The Li family consists of four people: a widower and three children.
Li Feng took the candy, sized up the little girl, and a hint of disdain flashed in his eyes.
"Xiao Bu, now that you've moved in, try to get along well with everyone," Li Feng said in a composed manner.
Bling smiled without saying a word
Who does she think she is, calling him "uncle" all her life? She really thinks she's her elder.
"Little Li, there are quite a few places, so I won't bother you any longer." Aunt Tian was also extremely annoyed, always pretending to be nice.
After saying that, he led Buling to the eastern half of the main house.
"Grandma Shen, are you home?" Grandma Tian called out.
The Shen family consists of seven people: the eldest son's family of four, the youngest son, the eldest daughter, and the Shen family itself.
"I'm here, what do you want?" A withered old woman came out, her eyes full of impatience.
“This is a new resident who moved into our compound. I’ve come to show her around,” said Aunt Tian.
"This girl is really ugly!" the old lady commented bluntly.
Bling paused in her hand as she reached for the candy, then extended it without taking anything.
"Grandma, how old are you this year?" Bu Ling asked with a smile.
"What? Why are you asking this?" Old Mrs. Shen said in an unfriendly tone.
"It's nothing, I just wanted to tell you that my great-grandmother is a hundred years old this year and has a secret to longevity. Would you like to know?" Buling smiled kindly.
Old Mrs. Shen looked at her suspiciously.
Without waiting for her to ask, Bu Ling answered directly, "That's because she's very kind with her words."
It took Old Mrs. Shen a while to realize that the girl was scolding her. "You little brat, how can you talk to your elders like that? You have no manners and no upbringing. Is this how your mother taught you?" Old Mrs. Shen was so angry that she jumped up and down.
Bu Ling wasn't annoyed at all, and said with a smile, "Aunt Shen, so you want to see my mother? That's easy. Just hang a rope up, and my mother will come to pick you up in no time."
"Well, you little brat, how can you be so vicious? Are you cursing me to die?" Old Mrs. Shen roared in a fit of impotent rage.
Aunt Tian stood to the side, smiling without saying a word. She was growing to appreciate Bu Ling more and more; she knew when to advance and retreat, and was tactful, but not weak.
The commotion attracted all the residents in the backyard; everyone except Aunt Zhao looked on with amusement.
Seeing the new maid who had moved in made Old Lady Shen furious, she still had a smiling face.
Aunt Zhao walked up to Bu Ling and said rudely, "Aunt Shen, what are you doing now?"
"This girl, this girl cursed me to die!" Old Mrs. Shen trembled with anger.
“Aunt Shen, you’ve misunderstood. I’m just sharing my great-grandmother’s secret to longevity with you. Why aren’t you appreciating it?” Bu Ling said aggrievedly.
"Old Mrs. Shen, stop making a fool of yourself by humiliating a junior like this. How can you be so shameless?" Aunt Tian spoke up righteously.
Li Feng stood at the door watching the farce, frowned, and his opinion of Bu Ling worsened. She didn't respect the elderly and cared for the young; she wasn't a good woman.
Seeing that everyone around her was watching the show with amusement and no one was helping her, Old Lady Shen was so angry that her face turned red.
"So, you're all in cahoots, ganging up to bully an old widow like me, huh? Good heavens! Is there no justice left? This is driving me to my death! May lightning strike them down!" Old Mrs. Shen's attack was wide-ranging.
The onlookers were unhappy.
"Aunt Shen, how can you talk like that?"
"That's right, you bullied that little girl, and you still have the nerve to cry."
"They're getting more and more shameless as they get older."
“…”
But Bu Ling's voice was extremely abrupt: "Aunt Tian, Aunt Shen are promoting feudal superstition!" She said this very loudly.
The crowd calmed down immediately.
Old Mrs. Shen dared not cry anymore.
The entire backyard fell silent instantly.
Aunt Tian patted Bu Ling's hand with a smile: "Girl, people get confused when they get old, let's not take it to heart."
Buling obediently said, "I'll listen to Aunt Tian."
Seeing that Old Lady Shen had calmed down, Aunt Tian pointed to a woman standing in front of the east wing, "This is your Sister-in-law Liu."
Liu's family consisted of a widow raising her two sons.
Bling looked over
Sister-in-law Liu smiled.
Buling stepped forward and took out six pieces of candy from her bag: "Sister Liu, have some candy."
Sister-in-law Liu took it, smiled at her, and said nothing.
Aunt Tian then led Bu Ling to the last room in the east wing and called out, "Aunt Zheng, are you there?"
“There, there, it’s Xiaotian. Come in.” An old voice came from inside the house.
Aunt Tian pushed the door open and went in
Bling followed closely behind and entered the house. Bling instinctively wrinkled her nose; the house didn't smell very good. However, after seeing the old woman inside, she understood. That's just how it is when people get old.
