"Coming!" Bling answered loudly.
Then he stood up, without even glancing at the mulberry, and walked past him out of the house, saying, "Sister Fang, it smells so good!"
Aunt Fang smiled and set out the bowls and chopsticks: "Doesn't it smell good? This is porridge I made especially for you, pork liver and vegetable porridge. Try it, do you like it?"
Bu Ling washed her hands, sat down, and took a deep breath: "I love it, Sister Fang is amazing!"
Fang's wife was beaming with pride after being praised. She first served Bu Ling a large bowl of porridge and said, "Quickly, drink it while it's hot."
"good!"
When Sangshen came out of the house, he saw this happy scene. He walked over to Buling and sat down: "Lingling, if you like it, I'll make it for you often from now on."
Bu Ling ignored him, picked up a porcelain spoon, drank a bowl of pork liver porridge, and then frantically gave Aunt Fang a thumbs up: "Aunt Fang is amazing!"
"If you like it, drink more." As she spoke, Aunt Fang served Mulberry a bowl of porridge: "Xiao Qi, try it. This is the first time I've made it."
Sangshen took it and smiled at Aunt Fang: "Okay."
Fang's wife served herself a bowl of rice and sat down to eat quietly.
"Lingling, don't just drink porridge, have some shredded potatoes?" Sangshen said, picking up a piece of shredded potatoes with her chopsticks and putting it into Buling's bowl.
Buling quickly moved her bowl to avoid his outstretched chopsticks, while simultaneously picking up a mouthful of shredded potatoes with her own hand, making it clear that she had her own hands and didn't need his help.
When Sangshen saw her covering her stomach, her arm stiffened for a moment, then she turned and put it in her own bowl.
As she ate her porridge, Aunt Fang silently watched the interaction between the two, her brows gradually furrowing.
The meal was eaten in complete silence. After finishing, Aunt Fang said kindly to Buling, "Lingling, rest for a while, then walk around the house to aid digestion."
Then she turned to Sangshen and said, "Xiaoqi, come and help me wash the dishes."
Upon hearing this, Sangshen glanced at Buling, only to see her indifferent back. She sighed, stood up, and helped Aunt Fang pick up the bowls and chopsticks from the table.
After clearing away the dishes, Aunt Fang gave Sangshen a look to follow her, then went straight out of the living room and into the kitchen.
Sangshen followed behind, and as soon as she entered the kitchen, Fang Sao pulled her back, causing her to stumble: "Xiaoqi, what's wrong with you? What did I tell you? You have to coax your wife!"
"Lingling is pregnant now, you need to be more understanding of her and not make her angry, do you understand?"
Upon hearing this, Sangshen's face fell: "Sister Fang, Lingling is really angry now!"
"What happened?"
Sangshen didn't hide anything and told Fangsao the whole story: "I really didn't think that much at the time!"
"Serves you right!" Aunt Fang slapped Sangshen on the back: "Do you still think it's the same as before, that you think everything you want?"
"Sister Fang, do I really know I was wrong?"
Aunt Fang glanced at him sideways: "You really know?"
Sangshen nodded sincerely: "I shouldn't have lied to Lingling."
“Xiaoqi, Lingling isn’t an unreasonable person. You should discuss things with her properly, instead of making decisions for her under the guise of doing what’s best for her, or even lying to her and keeping things from her.”
Mulberry lowered her head further and further, muttering, "I...I was wrong!"
Seeing Sangshen like this, Aunt Fang couldn't bear it. She patted him on the shoulder and gave him some advice: "Xiaoqi, it's good that you know you were wrong. Don't do it again. Husbands and wives should discuss things together."
"Alright, alright, I don't need you to do this anymore. There's still some hot water here. Take it back to your room and apologize to Lingling. Be sincere, you know?" Aunt Fang stopped lecturing and nudged the mulberry that was still standing there.
Sangshen looked up at her and said, "Thank you, Aunt Fang." Then she carried the hot water out of the kitchen.
"Lingling, come wash your feet~" He laughed lightly, "Come on, let me help you." As he spoke, he was about to take off Buling's shoes.
Bling shifted her legs, avoiding his outstretched hand: "No need!" she said stiffly.
Sangshen looked down for a moment, then squatted down in front of Buling and looked up: "Lingling, I was wrong!" He blinked his phoenix eyes and acted cute.
Bling remained unmoved, his expression still indifferent.
Sangshen didn't expect any reaction from him and said to herself, "I shouldn't have kept it from you, and I shouldn't have lied to you. It was my fault. Hit me, I promise I won't fight back."
Bling snorted coldly and remained silent.
Sangshen was delighted to hear this; a response meant he had listened to what he was saying. He pressed on:
“We are husband and wife, equals. We should discuss things together, instead of me making decisions for you on my own initiative, and I shouldn’t try to fool you under the guise of doing what’s best for you.” His expression was extremely sincere.
Bling looked at him, unsure whether she believed him or not, and simply stretched out her foot: "Let's wash our feet."
"Okay, sure!" Sangshen responded cheerfully, diligently serving Buling as she washed his feet.
While washing his feet, he kept muttering apologies and self-reflection, during which time Bu Ling remained silent.
After washing and drying her feet, Buling ignored Sangshen, took off her clothes, and crawled into bed, leaving Sangshen with only her dark back of her head.
Sangshen watched her series of actions, touched her nose, and obediently went to pour out the foot bath water.
Hearing the noise behind him, Bling, who was in bed, pulled the blanket up to cover the corners of her mouth that were turned up.
This time, she was just using the situation as an excuse to give Sangs a warning.
She could understand that Sangshen did this for her own good, but she herself didn't like it.
In her view, once there is one, there will be two; once there is a small one, there will be a big one. At first, Sangshen really lied to her and kept it from her under the guise of doing what was best for her, but what about later?
Human nature is the most vulnerable thing, even between husband and wife.
For her, she wouldn't gamble her future on Sang Shen's character.
When Sangshen returned, he noticed Buling's steady breathing. He immediately softened his footsteps, tiptoed to the edge of the kang (a heated brick bed), and quietly took off his shoes and clothes before crawling into bed and lying down next to Buling.
