When Bling woke up, it was already a day later.
She had just opened her eyes when Sangshen, who was guarding her side, noticed: "Lingling, you're awake?"
"Hmm." Her voice was a little hoarse. She cleared her throat and said, "Hmm, where's the baby?"
“Grandpa is watching, don’t worry.” Sangshen helped her sit up, then remembered what Buling had said before falling asleep: “Aunt Fang is watching the child the whole time, so the baby won’t be switched.”
Bu Ling leaned back on the hospital bed and nodded. "Is it a daughter or a son?"
When the topic came up, Sangshen perked up, his eyes and brows beaming with joy: "My daughter is so beautiful."
Before Bu Ling could ask anything else, Aunt Fang came in from outside carrying the child: "Lingling, you're awake?"
Bu Ling didn't answer, her gaze fixed on the small floral swaddle blanket in Fang Sao's arms.
Aunt Fang smiled knowingly, carried the child to the bedside of Bu Ling, and gently put the child down. "Lingling, look, this is your daughter."
Bling's gaze fell on the child as instructed. At first glance, the child was a little ugly.
I'm not sure, I'll keep watching!
Then she glanced at her a second time, a third time, and finally came to the conclusion that Sang Shen was so smitten with her daughter that she couldn't tell the difference between beauty and ugliness.
This dark-skinned, ugly child with deep forehead wrinkles is actually called beautiful. He looks like a little old man, what's so beautiful about him?
She glanced at the fervor in the eyes of Sangshen and Aunt Fang, silently swallowed the words that were on the tip of her tongue, and thought, "Fine, I can't return it anyway, so be it!"
Fang's wife was completely oblivious to Bu Ling's slight disdain and continued to boast without thinking, "Look at that little nose and mouth, it looks just like Lingling!"
Bling: ? ? ?
"And those eyes, they're just like Xiao Qi's. She'll definitely grow up to be a beautiful girl," Aunt Fang continued.
Mulberry nodded frantically: "That's right!"
Bling: ....
"Gurgle gurgle~"
The sound of her stomach growling broke Bu Ling's silence and reminded Aunt Fang, who was engrossed in sucking on the baby, "Oh, right! Lingling, this is the pig's trotter soup that Xiao Lü made for you."
As she spoke, she pulled out a lunchbox: "Hurry up and drink this, it's still warm."
Buling took the lunchbox, opened it, took a sip, and immediately wore a mask of pain. There was no other reason; he hadn't put any salt in the pig's trotter soup, and it was so fishy!
"yue~"
"Sister Fang, you didn't add salt!" she whispered a reminder.
Aunt Fang waved her hand dismissively: "You just gave birth, you can't eat salty food."
Upon hearing this, Bu Ling frowned and looked at the mulberry with a bitter expression.
The mulberry tree looks at the sky and the earth, at the child and at his hands, but it never looks at the cloth.
Bling: ...
She endured it!
QAQ~ I thought she'd get better treatment than Wu Yuanyuan, but it turns out she was wrong~
He finished a whole lunchbox of pig's trotter soup with a lot of resentment, wiped his mouth, and was about to say, "Another bowl, please."
"Waaaaah~waaaah~waaaah~" The baby cried!
Aunt Fang's attention was immediately diverted. She picked up the child, opened the bag and checked her over. "She hasn't pooped. She's probably hungry. Lingling, you feed her."
Bling: ...
She's not full yet!
"Fine!" After all, she's his biological child, not an adopted one.
Under Aunt Fang's guidance, she stiffly picked up her large daughter and said, "You all go out, I'll feed her myself."
Sangshen's face turned slightly red as she seemed to be imagining something, and she obediently went out, closing the door behind her.
Aunt Fang didn't move: "Lingling, this is your first time and you have no experience. Let me help you."
"Can you help with this too?" Bu Ling asked sincerely. Did Aunt Fang intend to help her support herself?
"What are you thinking about? I'll help you watch the child; it's easy for a baby to choke on their first meal," Aunt Fang quickly explained.
"oh oh!"
They were all women, so there was nothing to be coy about. Buling readily took off his clothes and hugged the big woman to his chest.
Sucking is an infant's instinct. As soon as the baby approaches its "food source," it turns around, finds the spot, and latches on, then sucks...and sucks again...
"Wah~wah~wah~wah~" The child who couldn't get any food was so upset!
Bling Moment: ...
"Hey, hey, don't cry! I'll think of something. Don't cry!" She felt like she had a bomb in her hand, completely at a loss.
Aunt Fang, watching from the side, couldn't help but laugh: "Lingling, why don't you choose another one?"
"oh oh."
Bling had no experience whatsoever, so she could only do as instructed, switching the children over and moving them to a different granary.
This time, she finally managed to suck out some food. She ate mouthfuls of dry rice while sobbing, looking utterly pitiful.
Looking at her like this, Bu Ling felt an overwhelming maternal love welling up inside her.
No way! She just felt her good days were over!
Kids are so hard to handle!
A few minutes later, Aunt Fang said, "Okay, okay, you can't eat too much the first time."
"Oh." Bling readily carried the child a little further away.
Leaving the granary, the child pouted, about to cry again, but Buling quickly handed him to Aunt Fang: "Aunt Fang, you comfort him, I'll tidy up."
Aunt Fang was both amused and exasperated, but she still took the child, held him in her arms, and gently rocked him. Before long, the child fell asleep.
Just as Buling finished tidying up, she smelled a stench. She paused and looked in the direction from which the stench came from: the child in Fang's arms!
"Oh dear, she's had diarrhea!" Aunt Fang naturally smelled it too. She opened her bag to check it and calmly announced, "Lingling, watch for a moment, I'll go get a basin of warm water and wash her."
"Oh, okay." Bling really didn't know what expression to make.
She couldn't do what the book described, thinking that even her child's poop smelled good.
