The three people who arrived were Bu Yiliang, Boda, and Lin Shen, who had received the news.
Upon seeing Sangshen, Bu Yi didn't say much, simply nodding as a greeting: "Which ward is Lingling in?"
“It’s just ahead.” Sangshen pointed to the ward not far away.
Bu Yi: "Hmm." He turned and left without saying a word.
While Buling was still feeling maternal love, the first wave of visitors arrived.
Liang Boda and the other two entered the ward, put down their bags, and then greeted Bu Ling thoroughly before going to see the child.
"What a beautiful young girl!" Lin Shen exclaimed.
“She looks exactly like Lingling when she was little!” Bu Yi exclaimed.
“This child has been a beauty since she was little!” Liang Boda exclaimed.
“That’s right, I’ve lived all these years and this is the first time I’ve ever seen such a beautiful young girl.” Aunt Fang joined the group chat.
Not to be outdone, Mulberry joined the two-person praise group.
The five people were chatting enthusiastically around the child.
The neglected Bling: nowhere to confide her sorrow~
However, she wasn't too fussy and quickly closed her eyes, falling asleep amidst the noise.
When she woke up again, she was awakened by the crying of the big girl. By then, Bu Yi and the other two were no longer in the ward.
"Where are my brother and the others?" Bu Ling looked around and only saw mulberry.
Sangshen slowly strolled around, coaxing her precious daughter to sleep, and said softly, "After we go back, they will take half a day off to come over."
"Oh, why are you crying again?"
“They’re probably hungry.” Sangshen carried the child toward Buling.
Bling immediately understood, lifted the blanket slightly, let Sangshen place the child next to her, and then lifted her clothes.
Sure enough, the child smelled the grain warehouse and immediately stopped crying.
Bling yawned, propping his head up with his hand: "Is there anything to eat?"
"Yes, yes!" Upon hearing this, Sangshen quickly banished the image of snow-white from her mind and took out a lunchbox wrapped in a cotton quilt from the cabinet: "This is crucian carp soup stewed by Aunt Fang. It's still warm. Drink it while it's hot."
"Soup again? Isn't there anything filling?" Bling complained bitterly about the soup that had no salt.
"Sister Fang said it's best to only drink soup these days, as it can help expel lochia," Sangshen explained.
"Okay."
Buling had nothing to say. She took the lunchbox, opened the lid, and gulped down the soup. Beside her, her eldest daughter was also gulping down her milk.
Seeing this, Sangshen's eyes softened. "Lingling, how about we name our daughter Mianmian?"
"Mianmian?"
"Yes, it means 'little cotton-padded jacket' (a type of down jacket)." Sangshen took the lunchbox and put it aside.
"The 'cotton' in 'cotton'?"
"No, it's the 'mian' in 'tender affection'." He picked up his daughter again and patted her back to help her burp.
"You came up with this name?" Bling asked, cleaning himself.
"Hmm, I think Mianmian sounds nice." After patting her to help her burp, she soothed her to sleep.
“It really does sound nice.” Buling nodded in agreement. “But didn’t Grandpa say he was the one who chose the name?”
"Grandpa? Let's forget about it?" Sangshen pouted and reminded him, "Think about my uncles' names."
Sande (meaning moral decay), Sangzhi (meaning moral decay), Sangli (meaning funeral), Sangyi (meaning righteousness decay).
Originally, it was a good name, representing virtue, wisdom, etiquette, and the high expectations that Grandpa Sang had for his children. But unfortunately, their surname was Sang, which made things awkward.
“You’re right, let’s call her Sang Mianmian!” Bu Ling said with a serious face, “You can tell Grandpa about it later.”
Sangshen gently placed the sleeping little cotton-padded jacket beside Buling, saying, "I'll go tell her."
"At worst, we can have Grandpa choose a nickname for us," Sangshen said.
Anyway, he has to name his little darling; he doesn't trust anyone else to do it.
"what ever!"
Bu Ling is very easygoing about this; after all, she's his daughter, so whatever he calls her sounds good!
...
After two days in the hospital, Bu Ling could no longer stay there.
Sangshen couldn't persuade her otherwise, so she went to see a doctor. After a thorough examination, the doctor said, "You can be discharged now."
Bling immediately beamed with joy, unable to wait even a day. Sangshen had no choice but to approach her older brother, who used a public vehicle for personal purposes to bring Bling and the child home.
The moment she got home, Bu Ling felt completely relaxed. Although she had been taken care of meticulously during her two days at the hospital, she still felt uneasy. Now, she could finally relax.
"Granddaughter-in-law, you're back!" Grandpa Sang stood at the door, his neck craning from waiting so long, before finally seeing his beloved great-granddaughter.
After Bu Ling and his group got off the car, the old man's eyes fell precisely on the baby in Fang Sao's arms. He grinned, leaned on his cane, and walked forward, looking at the little girl with boundless affection.
"Commander, let's go inside and talk," Aunt Fang whispered.
"Yes, yes, we'll talk about it when we get home, we'll talk about it when we get home," Grandpa Sang realized.
However, he still handed the cane to Uncle Lin, took the little girl from Aunt Fang's arms, and walked home with a big smile on his face.
Sangshen helped Buling follow behind.
Buling had a natural birth, which was very difficult, but she recovered quickly afterward and can now walk. However, Sangshen is worried and insists on supporting her.
Upon arriving home, Bling was immediately packed up and sent back to the west room. "Lingling, sit down for a while. I'll get you a glass of water. Dinner will be ready in a bit."
Bling nodded, not really expecting much.
Outside, Grandpa Sang held the little girl tightly, unable to get enough of looking at her: "Little Seven, Grandpa has thought of a name for you, it'll be..."
"Grandpa, what do you think of the name Sang Mianmian?" Sang Shen interrupted her grandfather, not giving him a chance to speak.
