Chapter 293 Using Connections

Sangshen's eyes were a little red. Looking at Buling's concerned face, tears welled up in her eyes.

Bling wiped away his tears: "Let's just be sad for a while. After we're over it, we have to pull ourselves together. There are still many things waiting for us."

Sangshen turned her head and hugged Buling tightly, burying her face in the crook of his neck, and said nothing.

After a while, he straightened up and smeared his face haphazardly. "I'm fine now. Shall we go see Dongzi?"

Bu Ling tidied his disheveled hair. "Okay, you and your older brother go in first. I'll go see why Aunt hasn't come back yet."

"good."

The three split up. Sangzi and Sangzhen went back to the house to check on Xie Dong, while Buling wiped her hands, took off her apron, and went to the next room.

The neighbor's gate wasn't closed, so Bu Ling easily entered the courtyard and headed towards the main room. Just as she reached the door, she heard Jiang Wanying's suppressed sobs.

She paused, her hand still raised to knock, before continuing: "Auntie, Sister-in-law Jiang."

"Lingling?" Auntie opened the door and saw Buling: "Why are you here?"

“Auntie, since you’re not going back, I came to check on you,” Bu Ling said, walking past her aunt into the living room.

Aunt Sang closed the door and turned around to see this scene. She wanted to sigh, but held back. "Xiao Jiang, don't cry. Take care of yourself."

Bu Ling didn't know what to say, so she just poured her a glass of hot water and said, "Sister Jiang, have some water."

Jiang Wanying blankly took the water, held it in her hand, and mechanically took a sip.

Seeing this, Buling quickly snatched the cup from her hand; it was hot water!

After snatching it back, she looked at her aunt with some helplessness: "Aunt, what should we do?"

"Let's go, let her have some peace and quiet." She had already tried to persuade her quite a bit before Bu Ling arrived, and now it wouldn't make much difference if one more person tried.

To be fair, she could understand. Anyone would find it hard to accept knowing that their newlywed partner's family were bad elements, especially since she and Xie Dong had no emotional foundation whatsoever.

However, public opinion leans to the left, and she still hopes that Jiang Wanying can accompany Xie Dong through this difficult time, both rationally and emotionally.

“Alright, let’s go. Little Star should be waking up soon.” Bu Ling wasn’t familiar with Jiang Wanying, but upon hearing her aunt’s words, she didn’t hesitate and went out of the house first.

The aunt behind her looked at Jiang Wanying and said, "Little Jiang, you... never mind, take care of yourself, we'll be going now." She then followed her out of the Xie family home...
