Chapter 356 Provincial Top Scholar

"Lingling, why are you standing outside? Aren't you cold?"

Sang Shen returned right after seeing Xie Dong and his wife off, bringing a child with her.

"Comrade Buling, it's been a long time." The burdened Shen Ci pushed up his glasses and greeted him in a formal manner.

Bu Ling returned in a formal tone: "Comrade Chen Ci, it's been a long time."

"Alright, alright, let's go inside, it's so cold outside." Sangshen led one of them by the hand and brought the two of them into the house.

He pressed Shen Ci down onto a stool and poured him a cup of hot water: "Stay at our house for the next few days, don't be shy."

Shen Ci lived up to his reputation as a bookworm: "No, I'll stay at the guesthouse."

Upon hearing this, Sangshen slapped him: "Don't you consider me your brother anymore?"

Bling: !!!

This guy is really not afraid of being beaten up by his own brother!

"Yes, yes, please stay here. Don't be shy with us. Brother Sangzi specifically told us to take good care of you," Buling added, urging.

Upon hearing Sang Zi's name, Shen Ci couldn't bring herself to decline: "Then I'll have to bother you."

Bu Ling raised an eyebrow at the mulberry tree, concealing his merit and fame.

Unfortunately, Sangshen was quite oblivious in this regard and didn't notice anything amiss. Instead, she assumed she had persuaded Shen Ci, and proudly wrapped her arms around his neck, complaining:

"You really are a bookworm."

"You didn't even tell your brothers you had nowhere to stay, but insisted on staying at the guesthouse. Don't you consider me and Dongzi your brothers?" Sangshen said, half-jokingly.

Shen Ci pried open Sang Shen's arm: "No, we're brothers."

Mulberry: "That's more like it!"

He ran to the cabinet in the east room, pulled out half a box of tea leaves from somewhere, roughly brewed a cup of tea, and handed it to Shen Ci: "Here, drink it. I know you're particular."

Shen Ci smiled, took the tea, and sipped it slowly.

When Bu Ling saw Shen Ci's delicate appearance, his eyes looked somewhat strange.

So, Sangzi likes boys like this.

A bookworm, as refined as a young girl.

She hadn't spent much time with Shen Ci before, so she didn't really know him very well.

This time, it was also because Shen Ci was preparing for the college entrance examination, and she moved out of the school specifically to study.

This guy is really something else. He didn't come to visit Sangshen and Xie Dong, but instead went to stay at the guesthouse.

If Sangzi hadn't called the school to look for them but couldn't find them, and then called Sangshen instead, they wouldn't have known.

When Sangshen found out, she rushed to the guesthouse and dragged Shen Ci over, forcefully arranging for her to stay there.

Seeing the rapport between the two, Buling consciously gave them some space, saying, "You two chat, I'll go get something to eat."

Upon hearing this, Sangshen immediately said, "I'll go, you rest."

"You chat with Shen Ci, I'll go. It won't be complicated, just noodles, it's very simple." Bu Ling waved her hand in refusal.

Sangshen didn't insist; his family's Lingling noodles were actually quite good.

They made noodles as soon as they said they would, without adding anything extra, except perhaps a fried egg for each person.

This treatment clearly shows that Shen Ci is not treated like an outsider.

In fact, Shen Ci isn't an outsider; sooner or later, they'll all be family.

It wasn't until dinner that evening that Bu Ling remembered to tell the two of them about Xie Dong.

Mulberry: "I knew it! You were standing outside when I came back; you were seeing someone off."

Shen Ci asked, "How did Dongzi get there so late?"

"Drive," Bu Ling said. "Brother Xie lent me a car."

"Dongzi has considered everything thoroughly," Sangshen said.

Xie Dong has always been the most reliable and least worrisome of the three.

After a lively meal of noodles, Sangshen led Chenci to her room.

To prevent Shen Ci from feeling uncomfortable, he was specially arranged to stay in the east wing room, which would make it easier for him to come and go.

And so, Shen Ci stayed at their house.

Before Shen Ci moved in, Bu Ling had considered how to treat her future 'sister-in-law'.

After he moved in, he realized that he had been worrying for nothing, because Shen Ci never left the house.

Her sister-in-law's daily routine is as follows:

In the morning, I got up to wash and then stood by watching Sangshen prepare breakfast (I wanted to help but was told off, so I could only watch).

After breakfast, they rushed to wash the dishes, and then watched the family of three go to work or school.

After washing the dishes and tidying up the yard, I retreated to the east wing and began a full day of reading.

When I get hungry, I'll rescue myself and make myself some lunch, then go back to reading.

When the Sang family of three returned in the evening, he stood by and watched Sang cook dinner.

After eating, I washed the dishes and brushed my teeth. Then I went back to my room to read until I went to bed.

After a few days of getting to know each other, Bu Ling was quite impressed by Shen Ci's passion for learning.

What I'm saying is, with his hard work, if he doesn't get into university, there's definitely something fishy going on.

Thinking of this, Buling remembered something else.

More than twenty days have passed since the college entrance examination, and the results should be out by now.

Once the results are out, the acceptance letter won't be far behind.

When it comes to acceptance letters, Buling's little radar starts to work.

During dinner that evening, Buling put a piece of meat on her daughter's plate and offered her a suggestion: "Your college entrance exam results should be out soon, right?"

His words drew the attention of the other two men at the table.

Sangshen answered first: "Yes, I've already received the notification. The results should be available in the next two or three days, and the admission notice is on its way."

Buling took a sip of soup, nodded, and reminded them, "Be careful then, don't let anyone take advantage of the situation."
