Five years have passed in the blink of an eye.
Today, as Buling was preparing to resign, she received her belated reward.
Inside the east wing room.
Bu Ling stared in surprise at the contents of the paper. "Sister Huang, this... this is really for me?"
Approaching forty, Huang Yuming, who still looks as beautiful as ever, nodded: "Yes, do you like it?"
Bu Ling gave her a reproachful look.
Should I return it?
I absolutely love it!
The nation, as expected, loves her.
The first time they gave us a courtyard house, the second time they gave us a piece of land, a piece of land within the Third Ring Road.
She really made me cry my eyes out.
"Comrade Xiao Bu, this is what you deserve." Huang Yuming only said this one sentence.
Bu Ling didn't say anything more and went back in a daze.
After carefully storing her own plot of land, she returned to her workstation and chuckled to herself for a while.
Then I started packing my things.
She's resigning.
Before she knew it, she was almost thirty and had been living in this era for over ten years.
Although I still want to be a couch potato, I'm too embarrassed to continue being a parasite on the country.
She now owns a car, a house, land, and savings. Wouldn't it be better for her to stay home and be a full-time stay-at-home wife?
Besides, this Cultural Heritage Bureau exists primarily for Huang Yuming and her.
But she is different from Huang Yuming. Huang Yuming plans to dedicate her life to the country, but she does not.
Therefore, Huang Yuming is not exactly a white-collar worker; he holds multiple positions, as do other employees in the company, all of whom have significant responsibilities.
In short, she was the only one who was free.
At first, she thought it was fine, but gradually she became a little embarrassed.
So she resigned.
After learning Bu Ling's true thoughts, Huang Yuming didn't try to persuade her anymore. He just gave her an address and told her that she could go there to find her if she needed anything.
Bling accepted it.
After packing my things, I didn't say goodbye. Just like countless times before when I left work, I carried my bag and walked out of the yard with light steps.
Back home, Buling thought for a moment, then went to the kitchen, grabbed a chicken and a fish, and went back to the compound.
Over the years, as the seven members of the Sang family got married one after another, the Buling family of three no longer lived in the compound as often.
I only go back occasionally for a couple of days to visit the old man.
After the serious illness he suffered five years ago, Grandpa Sang's health visibly deteriorated.
This year he has been mostly bedridden, and everyone understands that the old man is getting old, and the doctor said that these are the last two days he has left.
Although I really don't want to accept it, no one can control birth, aging, sickness and death, and no matter how painful it is, it won't change anything.
In the courtyard, Brother Sang and his family of four were all there.
The year after Sang and Sheng Ruowei got married, they had twin sons.
This made Brother Sang so happy; he couldn't stop smiling and was showing it off everywhere.
The first thing he asks everyone he meets is, "How did you know my wife gave birth to two sons?"
During that period, Brother Sang dethroned Mulberry and became the most disliked person.
After Bu Ling arrived, Sang Mianmian returned shortly after.
Five years have passed, and Sang Mianmian has grown into a young woman.
She looks exactly like her father, and it's only thanks to her dimples that she inherited them from Buling that she didn't grow up to look like a boy.
Over the years, the little girl has shed her childish innocence and grown into a graceful young woman.
She stood there, like a lotus bud in early spring, just beginning to emerge, bursting with vitality.
"Mom, Aunt, Uncle." After greeting them, Little Star went straight to her two younger brothers.
She has the demeanor of an older sister and doesn't mind her younger brother being covered in dirt.
I squatted down and swept the dirt off each of my younger brothers, then led them to wash their hands and faces, one on each side.
Sheng Ruowei watched the three siblings' backs and said with a smile, "Sister-in-law, Mianmian is such a sweet little cotton-padded jacket."
Buling watched her daughter's retreating figure, her face full of pride.
That's right, her daughter is a sweet and considerate daughter, the kind that's extra warm and thick.
Sheng Ruowei thought of her two mischievous sons, and then of Sang Mianmian, whose every move was becoming more and more graceful and dignified, and she was so envious that she almost cried.
She wants a little cotton-padded jacket too!
On the other side, after the three siblings finished washing up, they went to see Grandpa Sang, and then kept him company, entertaining him with colorful clothes.
A short while later, Sangshen returned.
Over the years, Sangshen has worked diligently in the Bureau of Commerce and Trade, putting forward many feasible suggestions. He has been promoted to director and his influence outside has grown day by day.
However, once he got home, he became much less pretentious, just like when Bu Ling first met him.
That said, Sangshen is a man in his thirties.
But time seems to have been exceptionally kind to him, adding to his mature charm while leaving him with very few wrinkles.
This made Bling very envious.
She takes every step of skincare and health regimen seriously, but none of it compares to someone who just washes their face with water.
How could she not be angry?
"Lingling, Mianmian, sister-in-law."
"Xiao Qi is back," Sheng Ruowei greeted.
Sangzhen nodded, put down her briefcase, and sat down next to Buling. "How did the resignation go?"
"Successfully." Buling took an orange and handed it to him.
Mulberry took the fruit, peeled it, and handed half of the pulp to Bling: "That's good."
Buling shared half of the orange with her sister-in-law before starting to eat it.
She had already told Sang Shen about her resignation, and Sang Shen was very supportive.
Sangshen has only one rule: as long as his wife is happy!
Seeing the unspoken understanding between the two, Sheng Ruowei felt a pang of envy in her eyes.
Brother Sang is very good to her, but he has always been reserved in his feelings and can't be like Sang Shen. However, she is content.
