To thank Bu Ling, Tie He bought a lot of vegetables.
Bu Ling didn't stand on ceremony and sat down, chatting with Aunt Zhao while eating.
After the meal, she chatted with Aunt Zhao for a long time before saying, "Auntie, why don't you and my sister Yuanyuan come to my house to rest for a while?"
"The hospital is too cold and crowded, I can't get proper rest."
Seeing that Aunt Zhao was about to refuse, Bu Ling immediately said, "You need to get some rest. If you also fall ill, my sister Yuan Yuan and the others won't have anyone to rely on. What will we do then?"
Wu Yuanyuan chimed in, "Ling is right, Mom, you can't fall down. I'm counting on you to hold us up."
“Ling is not an outsider. Let’s go to her house to rest for the night, and we can catch my dad’s surgery tomorrow morning.”
"Mom, let's listen to Yuanyuan and Xiaobu's suggestion." Tiehe made the final decision: "I'll stay here and watch over Dad. You and Yuanyuan should get some rest and come to relieve me tomorrow."
"That's right, Aunt Zhao, there will be a lot of work to do after the surgery, so you must get some rest."
The three of them kept talking, giving Aunt Zhao no chance to interject.
"Then, I'll have to trouble you, Xiao Bu."
Bu Ling waved her hand: "No trouble at all, it's just that my daughter and I haven't finished chatting yet."
Aunt Zhao smiled and said, "That's true."
On the way back, Bu Ling drove again, taking Aunt Zhao and Wu Yuanyuan home.
Only then did Wu Yuanyuan have the mood to tease Bu Ling: "Ling, you're living the good life!"
With his hands on the steering wheel, Bu Ling said modestly, "It's just so-so."
"Don't give me that, I know you too well." Wu Yuanyuan gave her a reproachful look.
Bu Ling chuckled.
I suddenly understand why rich people like to flaunt their wealth.
If I'm doing well, everyone should know it.
The car drove home smoothly.
After arriving home, Buling instructed Wang's wife to prepare two rooms, and then said:
"Aunt Zhao, Sister Yuanyuan, you've both had a long day. Go back and rest early so you can get some rest. You need to go to the hospital to take care of Uncle Tie tomorrow."
Since they had all returned, the two of them didn't stand on ceremony. After thanking Buling, they went back to their room to rest.
They were indeed exhausted, and they slept straight through until the next morning, without even getting up for dinner.
Knowing they were anxious, Buling had Aunt Liu prepare breakfast early on, and after they ate, she took them to the hospital.
She arrived at just the right time; Uncle Tie was about to be wheeled into the operating room when Aunt Zhao rushed forward, grabbed Uncle Tie's hand, said a lot of threatening things, and then let go while wiping away her tears.
The surgery went smoothly. After Dr. Si came out, he instructed, "The surgery went quite well, but you need to be transferred to the intensive care unit for observation for a few days."
"Thank you, doctor," Tiehe said, expressing his gratitude.
Director Si waved his hand and left.
Then Uncle Tie was sent to the intensive care unit.
There are visiting hours in the intensive care unit; you can't just visit whenever you want.
There was no point in leaving so many people behind, so Tie discussed it with them and decided to leave Aunt Zhao here to keep watch, while Wu Yuanyuan, Tie, and Buling went home.
Let Tiehe get some rest. As for Wu Yuanyuan, it's not convenient for her, as a daughter-in-law, to take care of her father-in-law.
Wu Yuanyuan originally planned to stay and keep Aunt Zhao company. After all, Aunt Zhao was old and illiterate, and she was really worried about leaving her alone in the hospital.
However, Aunt Zhao firmly refused:
“I may not be able to read, but I can still ask questions. You all go back and come to relieve me tonight,” Aunt Zhao said.
Wu Yuanyuan had no choice but to give up.
So, Bling drove the two of them home.
After arriving home, Tiehe went to rest, while Wu Yuanyuan didn't need to. This gave her time to catch up with Buling after their long separation.
Bling had the same idea.
Then, in Bu Ling's living room, she and Wu Yuanyuan each snuggled up on one side of the sofa, hugging a cushion, laughing and joking for a long time.
When they reunite after a long separation, besides reminiscing about their sisterly bond, they also inquire about old friends.
"Sister Yuanyuan, how is everyone at the state-run restaurant?"
"Not good," Wu Yuanyuan sighed.
"Manager Zhu was transferred, and the new manager who came after him is a troublemaker. He's always finding fault, and he especially dislikes Master Lü."
"Later, Master Lü resigned in a fit of anger and left. Nobody knows where he went."
Speaking of Lü Zhiwei, Wu Yuanyuan got angry: "Tell me, Master Lü is such a good person."
Upon hearing this news, Bling frowned: "Why didn't you tell me about this before?"
She at least calls Lü Zhiwei "brother," so if he's really being bullied like this, how could she just ignore it?
Wu Yuanyuan sensed the displeasure in Bu Ling's tone and said somewhat awkwardly, "Master Lü told me not to tell you."
Upon hearing this, Bu Ling frowned even more, but considering that Lü Zhiwei would occasionally write to Bu Yi, she knew that he should be alright.
Let's ask her when her brother gets back.
Bu Ling kept this to herself and asked again, "What about Sister Ma? And Sister Zhizhi, how are they?"
“Sister Ma, she’s getting old, so she gave up her job to her eldest daughter-in-law and went home to take care of her son’s children,” Wu Yuanyuan said without hesitation.
"I remember you told me that Sister Ma's husband died? How did he die?"
Wu Yuanyuan hugged a cushion, curled up on the sofa, and said sarcastically, "Sister Ma's man, ha!"
"He was such a filial son. On a cold winter night, he was trying to buy his mother a hot bowl of braised pork when he fell onto the ice and died."
Bu Ling: "Sister Ma is finally free."
"That's right."
Bu Ling: "What about Zhu Zhizhi? How is she?"
Wu Yuanyuan: "She sold her job and went home to take care of her child."
