The next day, Wu Yuanyuan got up to wash her face with swollen eyes from crying.
The neighbors in the courtyard all pretended not to see her like this; there are no secrets in a courtyard house, especially since Old Wu's family hadn't kept their voices down at all during their argument yesterday.
Wu Yuanyuan finished washing up expressionlessly, skipped breakfast, slung her bag over her shoulder, and went out the door. She smiled at Tie He, who was waiting for her outside.
"Let's go, Tiehe."
"Um!"
Tiehe wanted to offer some advice, but didn't know what to say, so he could only silently drive Wu Yuanyuan to work.
In the evening, when Buling got off work, she made a special trip to the grocery store and was pleasantly surprised to find that there was fruit on the stalls.
Looking at the juicy peaches, her mouth was practically watering.
After asking around and finding out that no tickets were needed, what was there to wait for? She bought five jin of each and put them in her space to eat slowly.
It's not that I don't want to buy more, but any more would be too conspicuous.
On the way, I deliberately took a detour to a less crowded alley, and once again used the "disappearing object" trick, in the end, only four peaches and two pears were left on the surface.
Back to the compound
Sure enough, everyone was drawn to the fruit in the basket of the brindle.
"Xiao Bu, where did you buy these peaches and pears?" Aunt Xu asked.
"At the grocery store, peaches are 30 cents a pound, pears are 20 cents a pound, no coupons required." She added, "They're almost sold out, so if you want some, you'd better hurry."
When Sister Xu heard the price, she hesitated for a moment, but then she thought of her children at home and gritted her teeth: "Xiao Bu, can I borrow your bicycle for a bit?"
"Okay, just don't fall, sister-in-law." It's just a neighbor borrowing a bicycle; Buling isn't that stingy. If it gets damaged, that's a different story.
"Don't worry, your sister-in-law will definitely ride well."
Bling nodded, took out his things, and parked his bicycle outside.
Sister Xu went back into the house to get the money and cloth bag, then rode her bicycle out of the yard.
Her family owned bicycles, so she was familiar with them and rode them quite skillfully.
Many people heard what Bu Ling and Sister Xu had said, but not many were willing to spend money on fruit; a pound of meat only cost a few yuan.
How could you be so wasteful?
Granny Lan watched Bu Ling's retreating figure with a mixture of envy and disdain. "That brat is so extravagant," she thought, "she'll definitely get a beating when she marries into her husband's family."
Aunt Wu was reluctant to spend the money. If her grandson were home, she could have gritted her teeth and bought one or two for him, but now that only the three of them were home, she didn't want to waste the money.
Furthermore, she was somewhat resentful towards Buling. She knew she shouldn't, but she just couldn't control herself; human nature is inherently biased.
Bu Ling didn't care at all. She had only just arrived and wanted to fit in with the compound, which was why she sold her job to Aunt Wu. Otherwise, wouldn't it have been better for the highest bidder to get it?
However, I gained a friend in the process, so it wasn't a complete loss.
I went back inside, grabbed a basin, pinched some salt, washed the peach clean, and before I could even dry it, I took a big bite.
Mmm~ delicious
Ah, that long-lost taste!
The peaches were soft and juicy, not too sweet, but with a natural peach aroma. Buling couldn't stop eating them, and in the blink of an eye, a peach the size of a man's fist was gone.
Looking at the remaining three peaches, Buling stopped eating them, planning to give one to Sangs later. After all, she had eaten so much food from Sangs, so it was a good idea to show her appreciation, which would make her feel more justified in asking for more meals in the future.
As for pears, she plans to make a rock sugar pear soup, which is the easiest way to cool down in the summer.
Speaking of summer, Buling suddenly remembered that she still had mung beans in her space; she could make mung bean soup.
Without thinking, I took out about a pound of mung beans from my spatial storage, filled about half a bowl with them, washed them, and used them to make mung bean soup. I put the rest in the cupboard.
After cooking the mung bean soup, she sprinkled some white sugar into it and set it aside to cool.
She took this opportunity to cook a meal.
While cooking, Aunt Xu returned, gave the bicycle back to Buling, and handed her a peach as a thank you gift before going back inside.
Bling couldn't refuse and had to accept it, but she was very satisfied; people who know proper etiquette are more pleasant to be around.
Now she has four peaches again.
After thinking for a moment, she picked up a peach and a pear and walked towards the mulberry house.
"Knock--Knock--"
"Mulberries!"
Mulberry was lying around inside when she heard Little Black Girl's voice and leaped to the doorway like a carp.
"They're here!"
The door opened, revealing a tall, slender figure.
Since transmigrating, Buling has been eating and drinking well, and in three months she has grown two centimeters taller, now standing at 1.55 meters. Even so, she only reaches the chest of the mulberry tree.
"Mulberry, I'm lucky today. The grocery store was selling fruit, and I bought a lot. I'll give you two."
Bling looked up, revealing a small set of white teeth.
The mulberry was deeply moved. Even such a precious fruit was shared with him by the little black girl; it was clear she adored him.
"I won't eat it, you eat it yourself." How could he bear to eat the little black girl's food?
Bling ignored his refusal and simply shoved the peaches and pears into his hands.
"I bought quite a lot. We're friends, it's just a couple of pieces of fruit, no big deal." She had quite a few more in her online store.
After saying that, Buling turned to leave, but halfway there she remembered, "Mulberry, I also made some mung bean soup, do you want some?"
Mulberry smiled brightly: "Yes!" He couldn't let the little black girl's kindness go to waste.
Under the setting sun, the phoenix-eyed boy laughed heartily, captivating Bu Ling.
"Then come with me, they're almost dry." After a moment, Bu Ling said.
Sangshen felt smug. He thought to himself, "Isn't it because the little black girl likes me? She's staring at me like that."
Watching Bling's retreating figure, his smile grew even brighter.
