Chapter 82. There is still no news about Buyi.

The hottest part of summer is almost over, and Bling is feeling very anxious lately.

It's been over three months, and there's still no news from Bu Yi. Bu Ling can only console herself that no news is good news.

However, as October progressed, Bling became increasingly irritable.

Specifically, this manifests as even unruly children no longer giving way; the iron fist of justice needs your approval.

She no longer respected the elderly; whenever Aunt Shen and Aunt Lan clashed, she would retaliate without hesitation.

Even Sangshen hasn't dared to provoke her lately, behaving herself every day and avoiding Buling's presence except for cooking. Even the usually oblivious Wu Yuanyuan has sensed that something is wrong with Buling.

That day, she rode her bicycle and cautiously asked Buling on the back seat, "Lingling, what's wrong with you lately? If anything's wrong, just tell your sister Yuanyuan, and she'll figure something out for you!"

Bu Ling sat in the back seat with a sullen face. When she heard Wu Yuanyuan's question, she raised her eyelids slightly and said, "It's nothing!"

Wu Yuanyuan was speechless.

"Why have you been unhappy lately? Has someone upset you? Is it that quack doctor?"

Buling sensed her concern and softened her tone: "Sister Yuanyuan, I'm fine, I'm just a little worried about my brother."

Wu Yuanyuan suddenly realized that she really couldn't do anything about it. Counting the time, it had been almost four months, and there was still no news of Buling's brother. No wonder Buling had been so down these past few days.

"Your brother is a lucky man; he'll be safe and sound," Wu Yuanyuan comforted him.

"I know!" Of course her brother will be safe and sound.

Neither of them spoke again, and they remained silent all the way to the state-run restaurant.

Tan Xiao came to the restaurant again, sitting at the table like a big shot, seven months pregnant, with an irritating expression that said she disdainfully ignored ordinary people like herself.

Bling ignored her as before and went straight into the kitchen.

"Wait! Wu Yuanyuan, right? You should stay away from Brother Han from now on. He's married." Tan Xiao suddenly said.

Before Wu Yuanyuan could even react, Bu Ling exploded.

She turned around and strode up to Tan Xiao: "Sister Tan Xiao, did your mother leave her brain in her belly when she gave birth to you? A man like Han Yu, only you treat him like a treasure, relying on your thesis defense, and you're still worried about others coveting him, what a piece of trash!"

Tan Xiao was stunned by Bu Ling's retort, but quickly recovered, her anger rising. Just as she was about to speak, she heard Bu Ling say...

"A brain is a good thing, I hope you have one. Someone like Han Yu, who reeks of scum, wouldn't even be picked up if thrown in the trash. Do you think my sister Yuanyuan is like you, looking for boyfriends in the garbage dump?"

"You..." Tan Xiao was furious.

"What do you mean, 'you'? Don't look like you've lost your mind all the time. I've only ever heard of foot binding, this is the first time I've seen someone with a small brain like you. I wouldn't even look at someone as stupid as you even if I plucked out half an eyeball!"

"You...you dare talk to me like that?"

"What do I have to be afraid of? Who do you think you are? How many mothers do you have? How dare you talk like that?" Bu Ling was really not going to put up with her anymore.

"Also, don't come to the restaurant all the time. Can't you tell I'm annoyed? You've succeeded in making yourself so disliked by everyone."

"....."

Bling went on and on, thoroughly enjoying his self-criticism.

After all that, she felt much better. Completely ignoring Tan Xiao's bewildered expression, she went straight back behind the counter, sat down, gave the dumbfounded Wu Yuanyuan a shy smile, and then lowered her head, looking docile.

Wu Yuanyuan: "..." This was the first time she had ever seen Bu Ling so good at roasting people.

Sister Ma: "..." I'm quite happy, but is it inappropriate to laugh out loud?

Manager Zhu, Grandpa Tan, and Han Yu, who were outside the door, also heard Bu Ling's full-on attack.

Manager Zhu's lips twitched; he wanted to laugh but held it in.

Grandpa Tan's expression was priceless. Logically, since it was his daughter who was being scolded, he should be angry. But now he was speechless. He never expected that his usually well-behaved daughter, Xiao Bu, could be so sharp-tongued.

As for Han Yu, his expression was much more interesting, a mix of red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and purple. This was probably because Bu Ling's attacks were too broad; not only did he insult Tan Xiao, but three out of every five sentences were directed at him.

Finally, the delivery person broke the silence. Manager Zhu pursed his lips, signed the document, and said, "Get to work, everyone stop standing around!"

Grandpa Tan responded and walked towards the restaurant's kitchen in a daze. As he passed Bu Ling, he instinctively smiled, and Bu Ling returned the smile.

Grandpa Tan: "..."

As Manager Zhu passed by, he pointed vaguely at Bu Ling, shook his head with a wry smile, and walked towards his office.

It has to be said that, although shocking, it was also very satisfying. Ever since Tan Xiao failed to get a job last time, she had been coming to the restaurant every few days, either to freeload or to keep staring at Wu Yuanyuan. Even if she got a little close to Han Yu, Wu Yuanyuan would make sarcastic remarks.

Wu Yuanyuan wouldn't give in to her, but she was still furious. This time, Bu Ling finally got her revenge. She fawned over Bu Ling and poured her a glass of water: "Sister Bu, please have some water!"

Bu Ling took it with a reserved air, took a sip, and her eyes still held a provocative glint in them at Han Yu, whose face was grim.

That bastard Han Yu is incredibly cautious. She hasn't been able to find any fault with him all this time. If he were to make a move against her because of today's incident, that would be wonderful.

Unfortunately, Han Yu's face remained dark, and she showed no other reaction whatsoever.

Bling was extremely disappointed

As for Tan Xiao, her eyes welled up with tears from being scolded. Seeing that even her own father wasn't on her side, she stomped her foot, rushed into the kitchen, and began to stammeringly complain.

Bu Ling listened leisurely to Tan Xiao's embellishments from the kitchen, completely unfazed.

Sure enough, Grandpa Tan quickly lost his temper, berated Han Yu, and ordered Han Yu to take Tan Xiao back to work.
