Chapter 85 Bu Yi Wakes Up

In the ward, after everyone had left, Buling locked the door and took out a syringe from her spatial storage.

She walked to Buyi's side, located a vein in his hand, and began to administer the fluid from the syringe into his body.

It wasn't anything fancy, just amoxicillin, an anti-inflammatory. It was very common in her previous life, but in this era, it was practically a life-saving miracle drug.

Although they said Buyi's injuries weren't life-threatening, the weather was hot, and there was a risk of infection, so they decided to get an injection as a precaution.

She didn't have much amoxicillin in stock, only five vials in total. She bought them before the apocalypse in her previous life as a precaution. She used two vials during the apocalypse, and the remaining three were safely stored in her spatial storage.

After the injection was completed, the syringe was thrown back into the spatial storage. The needle was pressed against Bu Yi's wound, and after a while, the pressure was released.

Fortunately, Buyi had many small cuts on his hands, so such a tiny needle prick was completely inconspicuous.

Today is a joyous day for Buyi; he will marry the girl he loves. Since returning from his last mission, he feels that life is full of surprises.

First, there's the girl I love. She didn't die; she was just taken away for secret research. Now that the research is successful, she can naturally be released.

Then his father and grandmother suddenly appeared in front of him, saying that the news he had heard before was a misunderstanding.

With family members alive and well, comrades in good health, and soon to marry the girl he loves, Buyi is truly a winner in life.

Looking at his beaming relatives and friends, and the shy young woman, Buyi should have been overjoyed, but he felt that the wedding was missing someone.

Who's missing?

He doesn't remember, but he always feels a deep regret.

"Yi-ge, what are you doing? It's a vow!" his beloved girl whispered a reminder.

Buyi snapped out of his daze and solemnly swore an oath before the portrait of the top leader.

If I can't remember, then it probably isn't important.

There was always a voice, choked with sobs, whispering something in his ear. He tried to hear it clearly, but no matter how hard he tried, it was always muffled and indistinct.

The voice was so familiar, so familiar, that just hearing it filled him with pride.

The oath-taking ceremony continued, but Buyi seemed somewhat distracted. Why did he feel an inexplicable sadness even though everyone else was smiling?

This sorrow came without reason, yet it was so heart-wrenching.

After the oath was taken, his comrades laughed and joked as they toasted him. Looking at all those familiar faces, he couldn't help but feel like crying.

He accepted all offers, thinking that he would feel better once he was drunk, and that he wouldn't be sad anymore.

He drank one glass after another, and no one seemed to notice his distress; they continued laughing and joking until his head started spinning, and the sounds around him seemed to clear a little.

"Buyi, Buyi, you promised me you would come back!"

Who? Whom did he promise to come back to?

"Buyi, you can't leave me alone. You're my only family left!"

Who are you? I don't remember you.

"Buyi, you liar! You said you'd never leave me again!"

I'm not a liar, I just... I just don't remember you.

"Brother, are you going to embarrass me like you did before?"

Brother? Are you calling him?

"Brother, don't you want Lingling anymore? Didn't you say I was your only family? Don't you want me anymore?"

Lingling? The name flashed through his mind in a split second.

His sister Lingling!! Buling!

Yes, he also has a younger sister. He lost her more than ten years ago, and after finally finding her, how could he not want her?

"Ling, Ling," Buyi called out silently.

He opened his eyes with a snap and saw his comrades who had been laughing and joking just moments before, the shy girl, and his gratified father and grandmother all looking at him.

His face showed deep reluctance, but his eyes were full of determination.

"Let's go back, Yi-ge!"

"Let's go back, Xiao Yi!"

"Comrade Buyi, please live on in our place!"

"Buyi, take good care of your sister!"

Bu Yi's eyes welled up with tears as he watched all the familiar faces disappear before him. He opened his mouth as if to try and hold them back, but he couldn't utter a single word.

Tears streamed down her face, but she regained her senses.

In the ward, Bu Ling talked to Bu Yi while observing Bu Yi's reactions.

When Bu Yi opened his mouth, Bu Ling noticed and immediately jumped up.

"Doctor, doctor, my brother is responding!"

Upon hearing Bu Ling's words, the doctors who were on standby in the next ward immediately rushed out and swarmed towards Bu Yi's ward.

Bu Ling stood firmly by the bedside, watching the doctor examine her brother. When she saw the tears in Bu Yi's eyes, she was overjoyed.

"Doctor, look, my brother is really responding!"

Buyi's attending physician was an elderly man with gray hair and glasses. He also saw Buyi's tears and smiled at Bu Ling, saying, "It's good that there's a reaction. Comrade Buyi will wake up soon."

The old man was the deputy director of the military hospital. Because the intelligence that Comrade Buyi had obtained was of great importance, the higher-ups had given a strict order to spare no effort to save Comrade Buyi's life.

At the advanced age of over seventy, he resumed his role as attending physician, dedicating himself solely to serving Comrade Buyi.

Upon hearing this, Buling broke into a wide smile. It had been five days; she was almost in despair.

She said her brother wouldn't abandon her; he loved her the most.

Buyi opened his eyes amidst the expectant gazes of everyone. The first thing he saw was his younger sister standing in front of his hospital bed. He smiled at his sister with his almond-shaped eyes and whispered, "Ling, Ling, don't be afraid!"
