The next morning, Buyi got up early, bought breakfast for Buling, left a note, and returned to the unit.
When Buling woke up, the room was empty except for her. Seeing the note and steamed buns on the table, she went to wash up first.
After finishing breakfast, I grabbed my bag and headed out.
She boarded the bus back to the city, but this time, because no kind old lady saved her a seat, she had to stand all the way back.
It was quite a workout so early in the morning. The bus swayed and rattled for an hour before finally arriving in the county town. Buling got off, took a deep breath, and felt a little better in her stomach before starting her walk towards the county hospital.
I had only taken two steps
"Bling, bling, this!"
Wu Yuanyuan waved to Bu Ling from a short distance away. Bu Ling looked over and saw Wu Yuanyuan standing not far away, waving and smiling brightly.
Bling smiled back and started walking towards it.
"Sister Yuanyuan, are you here to pick me up?"
"Otherwise what? Did I eat too much for no reason this morning?"
"Sister Yuanyuan is so kind!"
"Alright, stop joking around. I still need to deliver lunch to Aunt Tian. Let's go," Wu Yuanyuan said.
"Okay!"
Bling quickly followed: "Let's go!"
"childish."
Bling was in a good mood and ignored her.
The place where she got off the bus wasn't far from the county hospital; the two of them walked, and it took them about ten minutes to get there.
"Knock--"
She knocked politely on the door, then opened it. Seeing two strangers in the ward, she instinctively slowed her pace and walked to Congcong's bedside, looking at the little boy.
Aunt Tian wasn't in the ward, and Aunt Zhao, who was supposed to be there yesterday, wasn't there either. She gave Wu Yuanyuan a wink: "Yuanyuan, go look for her. I'll stay here and watch over Congcong."
I don't know what they were thinking, leaving Congcong here alone.
Before Wu Yuanyuan could make a move, Aunt Tian and Aunt Zhao returned together. Upon seeing Bu Ling and the other girl, Aunt Tian greeted them, "Little Bu, Yuanyuan."
Buling said, "Sister Yuanyuan, you stay here and keep watch. I'm going out to talk to Aunt Tian about something."
Wu Yuanyuan immediately understood: "Okay, you can go ahead. Oh, by the way, this is breakfast for Aunt Tian and Aunt Zhao, made by Aunt Lan." As she spoke, she took two lunchboxes out of her bag and handed one to Aunt Tian and one to Aunt Zhao.
The two heard what Bu Ling said, so they had no objections. They took the breakfast, and Aunt Zhao said, "I won't go. Yuan Yuan and I will stay here and keep watch."
Aunt Tian nodded, turned and went out the door. Finding a quiet place, she asked first, "Xiao Bu, have you thought it through?"
"I went back last night and asked my brother. We're planning to buy your house. When would be a convenient time to transfer the ownership?" Bu Ling got straight to the point.
Aunt Tian's expression relaxed. "I'm available anytime, whichever is convenient for you."
"Let's do it at 2 PM today. The sooner the transfer is completed, the better," Bu Ling said, knowing that delays could lead to complications.
Aunt Tian had no objection. "Okay, let's meet at the subdistrict office at 2 p.m., get the letter of introduction first, and then go to the housing management office to register the transfer."
It's not that buying and selling houses is prohibited, but there are many restrictions. First, you need to have a city household registration; second, the house you're selling must be yours; and finally, you need to explain the reason for the transaction. It's quite complicated.
Bu Ling had no objections and set a time. "Aunt Tian, it's getting late. You should go back and have dinner first. Please call Sister Yuanyuan out for me. We have to go to work."
She decided not to go in; there were other people in the ward, and it wouldn't be polite for them to keep coming in and out.
Aunt Tian nodded. "Then I'll head back now." She turned and walked towards the ward.
Although she felt a pang of heartache after selling the house, she felt a great sense of relief. With the 300 yuan from the sale, Congcong's medical expenses would be covered, and the grandmother and grandson could get through the year safely.
Buling was also very satisfied. She was now a homeowner, and it was always more reassuring to live in her own house. She could also renovate it to make it more comfortable.
After waiting for a while, Wu Yuanyuan came out, looked around, saw Bu Ling, and then walked towards her.
"Let's go, it's almost time for work." Wu Yuanyuan didn't ask any questions.
Buling didn't want to show off, so she didn't say anything: "Yeah, we need to hurry." They weren't riding bikes; walking would be slower, but luckily the hospital wasn't far from the restaurant.
The two chatted and laughed as they walked towards the restaurant. It was a rare sunny day, and the sun made it feel less cold.
At 1:30 PM, Bu Ling asked Manager Zhu for leave and went back to the compound to ride her bicycle. Wu Yuanyuan had ridden her bicycle home yesterday, and Wu Yuanyuan, being a considerate person, hadn't ridden her bicycle since she wasn't there today.
She was a little delayed. When she arrived, Aunt Tian and Sister Wang had already made arrangements, and only she was left.
Seeing that Bu Ling had arrived, Sister Wang didn't hesitate and gave her a letter of introduction, explaining the reason for the transaction and that all the procedures were completely legal and legitimate.
Buling thanked her, saying, "Thank you, Sister Wang." She even slipped two pieces of candy into her hand.
Sister Wang didn't refuse: "It's all I should do, Xiao Bu, you're too kind." However, her smile genuinely widened a little more.
Buling had taken leave and couldn't stay too long. After exchanging a few pleasantries with Sister Wang, she said goodbye. On the way, knowing her cycling skills, Buling pushed her bicycle and followed behind Aunt Tian.
Fortunately, the housing management office wasn't far away, just on another street. The two people obtained a letter of introduction and proof of household registration, and signed the transfer agreement in the presence of the housing management office staff.
After the agreement was signed, Buling took out a wad of cash from her bag, thirty bills in total, all ten yuan notes. She counted them in front of Aunt Tian and the staff, then handed them to the staff first.
