After Wu Yuanyuan finished speaking, she dragged Grandpa Wu home, leaving the neighbors, who weren't sleepy at all, to continue waiting for the next round of gossip.
Sangshen escorted Buling back into the house, gave her a few words of advice, and then went back to her own room.
Bling was tired too. She locked the door, thinking that she should install a safety bolt another day, so that it wouldn't be easy for someone to pry it open next time. Lost in thought, she soon fell asleep.
On the other side, Sang Shen was wide awake. He sat in his recliner, his phoenix eyes half-closed, lost in thought, with a dangerous glint occasionally flashing in them.
Those waiting in the courtyard to watch the drama unfold finally got to witness the second wave of developments.
Grandpa Qian, his face bruised, strode into the courtyard. Seeing so many people, he didn't even pause, going straight back into his house.
The Qian brothers exchanged a glance, then carried their stools back into the house. They felt they had to at least show some concern and offer some medicine, after all, he was their father.
Jiang Hua and Granny Shen didn't step through the gate until almost dawn. As soon as they entered the courtyard, they were bombarded with a barrage of questions.
"Jiang Hua, I heard that the third son of the Qian family was acting on your orders?"
"Jiang Hua, even if you're jealous of Xiao Bu, you can't do this kind of thing!"
"Jiang Hua, are you really putting all the blame on the third son of the Qian family?"
"Jiang Hua, you're not disfigured, are you?"
"Jiang Hua....."
All the questions were directed at Jiang Hua.
Hearing these words, Jiang Hua's already flushed face became even more beautiful.
"What do you gossipy old women know? This is all a misunderstanding, it has nothing to do with my Jiang Hua!" Granny Chen shouted.
"My mom is right, everyone. This is really a misunderstanding. Did Sister Buling say something? I have no grudge against her. How could she... how could she..."
Jiang Hua covered her face and cried in grievance.
"Jiang Hua, little girl, Xiao Bu didn't say anything when he came back, don't drag him into everything," Aunt Tian said bluntly.
"That's right, that's right. If it were a misunderstanding, why would my father-in-law hit you? Everyone knows what kind of person he is." Mrs. Zhou had a good eye for people and certainly wouldn't let this shameless attempt to extort money go unpunished.
"Don't talk nonsense if you don't understand. The police officers have already said it has nothing to do with Jiang Hua. Do you think you're more knowledgeable than the police officers?" Aunt Shen immediately defended her son.
"Old Shen, stop being so stubborn. We all know that your Jiang Hua instigated her to ruin Xiaobu's reputation. It's only because Qian's third son is stupid that he was fooled by you two," Aunt Zhao said.
The Jiang family and Jiang Sheng in the crowd dared not utter a sound. Liu, the widow beside Jiang Sheng, wore a bright smile; she was happy to see Granny Chen and Jiang Hua in trouble, since they had an old grudge.
"If you don't understand, don't spout nonsense. Get out, get out! Don't you have to go to work?" Granny Chen protected her daughter and quickly walked towards the backyard.
The gossipy neighbors didn't take it seriously, thinking the women were just angry because their secrets had been exposed. But Granny Chen was right; they really needed to go to work.
A thrilling night passed, and the neighbors who had been watching the drama all went home to cook dinner and prepare for work.
As for whether they were sleepy after not sleeping all night, everyone said they weren't sleepy at all; they were all very energetic.
After eating, some went to work, and some went to school.
Gossiping is human nature. The neighbors in their courtyard, who knew the details, shared the gossip with their close colleagues and superiors at their respective jobs.
Want to share some gossip?
So, without Buling's knowledge, the news spread rapidly to every corner of the county, and even to the towns, communes, and villages below.
Jiang Hua's reputation was completely ruined by the rumors, and Bu Ling was described as an utterly pitiful little thing. No one said anything about Bu Ling and Qian Xingyan's relationship; mainly because no one noticed that Bu Ling had broken Qian Xingyan's leg—there was no way they could proceed to the next step.
With the guidance of those who care, people felt even more sympathy for Buling.
However, neither Bu Ling nor Jiang Hua knew this yet.
Bling slept straight through until dark. When she woke up, she felt incredibly lazy; she had slept so well.
Could it be because of moving your hands and feet?
It seems I need to move around more often.
When Bu Ling woke up, she went out of the house, washed her face, and was seen by Sang Shen, who was always keeping an eye on Bu Ling's room.
He picked up the chicken soup he had stewed and walked towards Buling.
"woke up?"
"woke up!"
Are you hungry?
Bu Ling nodded, looking expectantly at the bowl of chicken soup in his hand.
Sangshen chuckled, "I stewed this for you, drink it!" He also added ginseng, which is calming and nourishing, good for Xiao Hei Niu's health.
"Thank you, Mulberry, you're such a kind person."
Ding~ Good guy card
Mulberry laughed
"Hurry up and drink it!" He didn't want the "nice guy" label.
Bu Ling chuckled, increasingly convinced that Sang Shen was beautiful inside and out, a perfect candidate for a boyfriend.
Thanks to Sangshen's culinary skills, even the chicken soup with medicinal herbs tasted incredibly delicious, and Buling chugled down a whole bowl of it. All the chicken meat was devoured, leaving only a pile of bones.
Mulberry: The chicken he bought weighed three pounds!
After a satisfying meal, Bling leaned against the cupboard, her eyes half-closed in bliss.
Mulberry thought the little black girl was beautiful no matter how she looked at her. Was that called black? That was called healthy.
"Little...cough...Bling, are you just going to let this go like this?" This isn't like the little black girl at all.
Bling's eyes widened in surprise: "How is that possible!"
"So what are you planning to do? I'll help you!" Sangshen was always worried things might escalate, and besides, if Little Blackie couldn't handle it, he could step in.
