"Mianmian, where are you? Can I come find you?"
"No." Sang Mianmian refused decisively: "My boyfriend will be jealous."
As soon as these words were spoken, the other end of the phone went silent.
The silence lasted for a very long time, so long that Sang Mianmian felt a little flustered and inexplicably guilty.
"Hey, Liu Xiaotian, are you still there?"
"Mianmian, you have a boyfriend?" Liu Xiaotian's voice, devoid of emotion, came through.
Sang Mianmian felt even more guilty, but she still stubbornly said, "Yeah, is it strange that I have a boyfriend at my age?"
Another long silence followed.
"Hey, Liu Xiaotian, is there anything else? If not, I'm hanging up!"
There was still silence on the other end of the phone.
Sang Mianmian patiently counted to ten, but still didn't receive a reply, so she hung up the phone in a fit of anger.
"You bastard!" she scolded softly.
After saying that, she put the matter out of her mind, tidied her hair, and went to prepare lunch.

Uncle Sun, the village head, was a kind and honest man. Upon hearing this, he waved to the field and said, "Ya'er, come here and take Secretary Sang for a walk in the mountains."
"Coming!"
Sun Ya responded loudly, patted the dirt off his clothes, and said with a simple smile, "Secretary Sang, let's go."
Sang Mianmian nodded, greeted the village chief, and followed her up the mountain.
Another afternoon of fruitless effort, something Sang Mianmian was already used to.
After saying goodbye to Sun Ya, she dragged her tired body back to her dormitory.
