Chapter 7: 50 cents each, arriving in City D

The auntie became even angrier when she saw this. She immediately raised her bare right foot and stretched it in front of the woman, "How can my feet smell? Your nose must be blocked by shit. Smell it, smell it."

The woman holding the child turned pale and quickly turned the child's face to another direction. The feet were smelly to begin with and now they were covered with black stains. If you looked closely, you could see dust falling off. She was afraid that dust would fall on her child's face.

The husband sitting next to the woman was not happy with this. He immediately stood up, grabbed the woman by the collar and led her away. "If you don't have good manners, don't go out. My children don't want to smell your stinky feet."

Everyone in the car nodded in agreement.

When Zhao Meili and Guo Jingyi saw that everyone started to denounce the aunt, their eyes were shining as they looked at Wang Shuning. Her legs were so long and so beautiful.

The conductor heard the noise and ran over to ask what happened.

The woman's husband told the conductor what happened. The woman stood by and pulled the conductor's arm, asking him to make the decision for her.

Finally, the conductor took the aunt back to her seat.

All five people's eyes were immediately focused on the conductor's face, which looked innocent and confused.

Lu Beichu looked at the conductor and said, "She stepped on the seat with her bare feet, and the smell was strong. We opened the window to let the smell go."

Guo Jingyi interrupted, "She said she was cold, so I told her to put on her shoes. Then she started to make a scene and even insulted our companions."

The old lady cursed, "Little girl, I am an old lady, you should give in to me. Besides, I always ride the train barefoot, why didn't anyone say anything? You are just being hypocritical."

The conductor's face froze. "Auntie, if you dirty the seat by stepping on it barefoot, you will have to pay for it. I'll ask the conductor to come over and see if there is any damage."

The aunt was stunned for a moment, then immediately waved her hand to grab the conductor and deliberately lifted up the seat cover, "It's not torn, not even a stain, please don't slander me and make me pay."

Wang Shuning's eyes glanced at the seat cover and it seemed to be scratched. She immediately pointed and shouted, "Sister, that place was scratched by her toenail."

The aunt took a closer look and immediately stopped, "This is already broken. Who has evidence to prove that I did it? Don't slander me."

The conductor didn't intend to pursue the matter, he just wanted to scare her so that she would stop making noise.

Forty minutes later, the aunt got off the car, dragging her things and cursing, not wanting to stay any longer.

The next person who got on was an old man wearing glasses and was very silent.

As the temperature rose, the sunlight gradually became somewhat dazzling.

Wang Shuning simply took out the remaining meat pie and put it under the sun to dry. Maybe he could still eat it hot at noon.

After what just happened, the few of them started to get to know each other better, and the most obvious thing was that they started to talk more.

Wang Shuning sat in the corner. Since they were assigned to the same place, it was impossible for her to stay away from Lu Beichu and Guo Jingyi even if she wanted to. She simply said a few words to them from time to time so that people would not think that she was cold and difficult to get along with.

I don’t know if it was because of that old lady just now, but Zhao Heping and Guo Jingyi started to feel carsick at the same time.

The two gradually felt a little nauseous, and then began to feel nauseous, until they could no longer bear it, so they hurried to the toilet to vomit.

Lu Beichu waited anxiously at the toilet door.

The bathroom in this carriage was occupied by Guo Jingyi, so Zhao Heping had to run to the bathroom in another carriage to vomit.

When the two came back, Zhao Heping's face looked good, but Guo Jingyi's was not.

Her face was pale to begin with, and now it was even paler. Her eyelashes and the corners of her eyes were wet. I guess she was in pain from vomiting and shed tears.

The two of them sat in their seats without saying a word. Seeing the conductor coming to sell food, they quickly got some hot water and drank it in small sips.

In the blink of an eye, I vomited again.

Zhang Meili, who was about to take a bite of the steamed bun in her hand, suddenly lost her appetite. "These two are so weak, what will they do in the countryside? They will fall into the mud and won't be able to get up for a long time."

Wang Shuning covered her chest with her right hand. The two people sitting next to her were vomiting, which made her feel a little nauseous.

I put my lunch down and didn't want to eat it anymore. I couldn't vomit because there were no toilets in the nearby carriages.

She reached into her schoolbag, took out two oranges directly from the space and ate them. Then she peeled the skin and put it under her nostrils to smell to relieve the nausea in her throat.

Lu Beichu didn't want to follow Guo Jingyi all the time, but his eyes were always looking towards the bathroom.

He saw Wang Shuning taking out oranges to eat, so he asked, "Wang Shuning, do you have any extra oranges?"

Wang Shuning looked at him and raised five fingers. "Fifty cents each."

Zhang Meili stopped biting the steamed bun. Fifty cents each was really expensive, but fruit was not cheap to begin with, especially since the orange was as big as a fist.

Without hesitation, Lu Beichu took out a dollar from his pocket and handed it to Wang Shuning, "I want two."

Wang Shuning took the dollar and put it in his shirt pocket, then took out two oranges from his bag and placed them in front of Lu Beichu.

Zhao Heping and Guo Jingyi came back at about the same time.

As soon as they sat down, Lv Beichu handed the two oranges to Guo Jingyi and said, "Eat something sour, it can help relieve motion sickness."

Guo Jingyi hesitated for a moment, but in the end she didn't want to make herself feel bad. At worst she could return the favor later. "Thank you."

When Zhao Heping saw that Guo Jingyi had two oranges in her hand, but he had none in front of him, he sighed silently to himself.

At this moment, an orange was handed to him, "The last one, fifty cents."

The corners of Zhao Heping's mouth that were about to curl up froze instantly. He looked at Wang Shuning and saw her raising her eyebrows at him. He felt like crying but couldn't. "No, I can bear it."

"oh……"

Wang Shuning took the orange back, put the peeled skin in front of Zhao Heping, and then ate the orange in a few bites.

Zhao Heping silently held the orange peel in his hand. It was free, so he couldn't be picky.

Zhang Meili stuffed the last bit of steamed bread into her mouth, gulped down boiled water, and burped very relievedly, "It seems that I am the one with the best health."

Nearly thirty hours had passed since Wang Shuning got on the bus yesterday. His butt was numb and painful from sitting, and he had to stand up from time to time to relax.

Another night passed like this, and the train arrived in City D on the morning of the third day.

The five people, dragging large and small bags, were pushed and shoved by the crowd and finally arrived outside the station.

Now they still have to take the bus to Chaoyang County, and only when they arrive in the county town will someone from the town come to pick them up.

I walked along the rows of buses, looking for the signs one by one.

"Chaoyang County is about to depart, Chaoyang County."

A driver in front was shouting loudly.

The five of them hurriedly ran over dragging their luggage, fearing that they would miss the bus and it would leave.
