Their electronics factory can sell brand new, perfectly good radios. But the price is several times that of a broken one.
Gu Changzheng, this middleman, doesn't buy their new products but instead buys unusable ones, which greatly interests the factory manager.
He did want to see how Gu Changzheng would turn the unusable items back into money. However, he didn't send anyone to follow him immediately. Instead, he waited until Gu Changzheng had been gone for a while before sending someone to go with him.
The man nodded, took a hat from behind the door, put it on, and quietly followed.
But the streets outside were deserted; there was no sign of the old man from before.
Even if it wasn't an old man, he didn't see a single young man carrying a bag. Undeterred, the man continued searching for a while, only to realize he had truly lost them.
No, to put it another way, he didn't keep up at all.
He had no choice but to turn around and go back into the factory to report the situation to his boss.
Although the boss was a little angry, he nodded helplessly.
"Never mind, if he comes knocking again next time, I'll just ask him directly..."
The person they were talking about was actually on the street. However, Gu Changzheng was clever; after leaving that small factory, he shed his disguise and became someone else entirely.
He hid the heavy sack in his hand, breaking it down into smaller pieces and placing them in his grocery shopping bags, slowly carrying them home.
That's how they managed to evade the people who came out to follow them.
Actually, he didn't really hide; it's just that the other person didn't recognize him. Gu Changzheng did see the person's face.
This was something he had anticipated, so Gu Changzheng didn't show much anger or other emotions.
As mentioned before, there are all sorts of people in their line of work, but they all have one thing in common: they want to make money. The fact that he wanted so many radios and watches at once would make people guess that he has connections.
It's understandable that they would come out to keep watch.
Gu Changzheng remained calm and left the street without much disturbance.
Not long after, he changed his clothes and squatted nearby for a while. After not finding anyone suspicious, he pulled away the cart he had used to hide his thing.
He had placed the cart in this alley early in the morning, with a pile of straw he had gotten from a nearby village on top, and his radio and watch underneath the straw.
If he hadn't told anyone, no one would have known.
After pushing the cart to an alley near their house, Gu Changzheng packed the radio and watch into a sack. He took them home first, and then pushed the cart towards the main gate.
He had scouted out the route well in advance, knowing how to avoid places where people frequent.
This is the professionalism of a seasoned reseller...
When Lu Huaijiao woke up, the sun was already setting. The dim sunlight streamed into the room, turning the entire room golden.
She propped herself up on the bed with her hands, her body still feeling a little weak, but the burning pain in her hands was gone.
She raised her hand and glanced at it; it smelled of cooling balm. She smiled slightly.
I pulled back the covers and got out of bed.
I thought Gu Changzheng wasn't home, but when I went downstairs I saw him tinkering with something in the living room. There was a pile of parts on the table in front of him.
That thing looks like a radio.
Gu Changzheng was so engrossed in studying the radio that he didn't notice Lu Huaijiao until she walked up to him.
"Jiaojiao? She's awake."
The man smiled, reached out and pulled the person who was about to sit opposite him onto his lap, then kissed him twice: "Did you sleep well?"
Lu Huaijiao frowned as she looked at her arm, which was now marked with a black mark.
"Gu Changzheng, how come you're so dirty? Your hands are covered in engine oil, and it's gotten on my arm."
The black engine oil stood out starkly against her fair, jade-like arms.
Lu Huaijiao's brows were furrowed so tightly they could practically trap a mosquito. Her lips were also slightly pouting, and she exuded discomfort and grime all over her body.
Gu Changzheng: ...
I had forgotten.
"I'm sorry, baby, I'll help you wash in a bit?"
Gu Changzheng was in a good mood and was very sweet-talking. Politeness, which had rarely been seen in him before, suddenly appeared at this moment.
Lu Huaijiao wrinkled her little nose: "Otherwise, who else would wash it if not you?"
Do you expect her to wash it?
How could that be?
He's the one who did it, isn't he? He has to wash it.
Gu Changzheng absolutely adored her lazy demeanor, which she displayed with such self-righteousness.
He hugged and kissed her again, then simply pulled her into his arms: "After I finish this, I'll go help our baby wash her hands."
"No, it's dirty and uncomfortable."
"Hmm? Where does it hurt? Would you like a kiss?"
Gu Changzheng is quite good at using his tongue.
Lu Huaijiao pouted in disgust.
This elicited a hearty laugh from the man.
He lowered his head and kissed her on the lips: "Sweetie, don't stay angry, or the child will become a stingy little devil."
"Fallacy."
Despite saying that, Lu Huaijiao didn't purse her lips. Instead, she turned her gaze to the scattered items on the table and roughly guessed his purpose.
"You can fix radios?"
"Give it a try, it shouldn't be too difficult."
In fact, Gu Changzheng spent a lot of time and suffered a lot in learning this, but at the time it was all so that he could be worthy of Lu Huaijiao and be able to come to the city to find a job.
