Gu Changzheng's face turned as black as the bottom of a pot in an instant.
His teeth were clenched so hard they were grinding.
He knew he wouldn't get any kind words from her.
Looking at the slightly flushed face in the blankets, Gu Changzheng had a fleeting urge to swat the person awake. Yes, definitely swat them awake, not kill them.

Lu Huaijiao was still dreaming, but she could hear Gu Changzheng's words and answer him. Clearly, she was having a nightmare.
Her voice, tinged with obvious sadness, sounded extremely distressing to the listener.
"Jiaojiao..."
Gu Changzheng was stunned.
"Fourth brother...fourth brother..."
He wanted to ask something else, but Gu Changshan's low voice called from outside the door.
Lu Huaijiao mumbled something incoherently, then turned around and hugged the blanket, ceasing all her sleep-talking.

"If you want it, you can buy it on credit. I'll do it for the sake of us being brothers, but you have to write an IOU and both you and your sister-in-law have to put your fingerprints on it. Then I'll go get you some bricks."

When Gu Changshan heard that he would have to write an IOU, and that both he and Liu Chun would have to put their fingerprints on it, he was a little hesitant.
Gu Changzheng did not pressure him.
Seeing Gu Changshan's embarrassed expression, he said, "Brother, go back and discuss it with your sister-in-law before you come to me."
"It's getting late, I need to make dinner for Jiaojiao, so I won't see you off, brother."
After saying that, he went into the newly built, bright and clean kitchen to start a fire and cook dinner.
