John F. Kennedy International Airport in the United States.
Lin Xiaoxiao was dressed in ordinary clothes, wearing a homemade mask that covered her pretty face, and carrying a small bag with no visible tags.
By the 1970s, JFK Airport was already a very important international aviation hub.
Among the passersby, almost no one would stop their gaze on a petite girl.
Lin Xiaoxiao found a quiet corner outside the airport, sat down, and started munching on a cookie.
With its drab clothes and thin frame, it could easily be mistaken for a beggar on the street if you didn't look closely.
The economy of Country M is now experiencing stagflation, with economic growth stagnating and inflation coexisting. Last year's oil crisis led to a sharp rise in oil prices, increased unemployment, and homeless beggars can be seen everywhere on the streets.
Lin Xiaoxiao was completely unremarkable in the crowd.
About an hour later, just as Lin Xiaoxiao was about to fall asleep on the ground, a convoy of luxury cars arrived.
The extravagant display drew many onlookers.
His eyes were filled with envy and longing.
All of them were Lincoln Continentals, starting at $9,000, and with the added features, it wouldn't be less than $10,000. At a glance, there were seven of them.
In the middle is a Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, which costs more than three times as much as a Lincoln Continental.
In the entire country of M, there are only a handful of families with this kind of power.
Everyone's eyes followed the convoy. When the convoy stopped by the roadside, the passenger door of the middle Rolls-Royce opened, and a neat and tidy white woman stepped out. Black and white bodyguards from the other cars stood behind her.
They walked together toward a certain corner.
Everyone stared intently.
A little girl, seemingly asleep, was curled up in the corner; her face was obscured.
Judging from his physique alone, people guessed that he came from a slum or was a beggar on the street.
I just don't know what these people who look like they're not to be trifled with want with her.
"Hello, Miss, I am the housekeeper sent by your father to pick you up. You can call me Ellie." The white woman walked up to Lin Xiaoxiao and squatted down.
Lin Xiaoxiao opened her eyes groggily, "What?"
She spoke English fluently, even more so than the locals.
The white woman was not surprised at all. A girl born in the United States, even with Chinese ancestry, could not change her fundamental identity as a citizen of the United States.
She patiently and very well repeated it.
This time, Lin Xiaoxiao heard it clearly.
She suddenly stood up, jumped around a few times, and kept saying "God bless you..."
He appeared to be in a state of frenzy, as if he had been overwhelmed by enormous wealth.
It is not surprising that poor people who suddenly become rich often display a variety of ugly behaviors.
A hint of disdain flashed in Ellie's eyes, but her face remained adorned with a gentle smile.
"Come on, miss, your father is waiting for you."
Lin Xiaoxiao held her head high and walked a few steps before stopping. As Ellie approached, she repeatedly asked, "Am I really of the Davis family bloodline?"
Ellie lowered her eyes. "Of course, you possess one of the few truly noble bloodlines in all of M."
Lin Xiaoxiao was overjoyed. "Then my dad really is Sean? The Sean who led the Davis family to new glory?"
Ellie nodded.
Lin Xiaoxiao rubbed her head frantically, her expression exaggerated, "Oh my god, God is blessing us..."
Once in the car, Lin Xiaoxiao started chattering away again.
"How much does this car cost? Is it very expensive?"
"Since I am of the Davis family bloodline, will my dear father give me ten thousand dollars of pocket money every month... that's how it's portrayed on TV."
Can I inherit Sean's father's fortune?
"......"
Ellie, in the passenger seat, tried her best to maintain her composure, her suspicions about this suddenly appearing illegitimate daughter of the family head completely vanishing.
No wonder a girl raised in a Chinese neighborhood is so uncouth.
More than half an hour later, the convoy drove into a manor so large that Lin Xiaoxiao almost lost her composure.
*They're just resentful of the rich.
This was in the 1970s! These old-money people in the US were already living in mansions and driving luxury cars.
Envy, jealousy, the urge to steal...
From Ellie's perspective, Lin Xiaoxiao was stunned by the luxury before her, looking so foolish that she resembled a pig, equally stupid.
If it weren't for the fact that she had half of the Sean family head's blood in her veins, Ellie might have added another word after "stupid"—"lowly".
"Wow, is this my home? It's so big and beautiful! Where do I live? Take me there quickly..." Lin Xiaoxiao rubbed her hands together, eager to go.
Ellie smiled and said, "Miss, you need to go see your father and brothers and sisters first."
"You have brothers and sisters too?" Lin Xiaoxiao pouted, looking annoyed.
Ellie chuckled and said, "Your brothers and sisters are all very outstanding people."
Lin Xiaoxiao fell silent, her face filled with jealousy and bitterness, her once stunning beauty now reduced to a mere fraction.
Upon hearing the report, Sean Davis snorted in disgust, turned and left. "I'll just disappear. Find a place to settle her down, give her a credit card, and a fixed allowance of ten thousand dollars a month."
After all, she was his own bloodline, and no matter how much he disliked her, Sean had no intention of truly ignoring her.
A vulgar girl is really not likable.
But on second thought, a chaotic Chinese neighborhood wouldn't necessarily foster good character.
If the child is truly polite, then he would really have to doubt the authenticity of the bloodline test report.
