Chapter 258 Someone stabbed her, and she retaliated with broken bones all over her body.

When Qin Yu arrived, half of the stitches had already been completed.

Despite the freezing weather, his forehead was covered in sweat, and he hadn't even changed out of his training clothes; they were soaking wet and filthy.

"Why are you in such a sorry state?" Even though the pain in her arm was throbbing, Lin Xiaoxiao still laughed and teased him.

As Qin Yushen walked over and saw the wound, his heart felt as if it had been gripped tightly by an invisible hand.

With trembling hands, he grasped Lin Xiaoxiao's other hand, his voice choked with emotion, "Wife, wife, does it hurt?"

Lin Xiaoxiao looked at him squatting in front of her, and at his slightly red eyes, and couldn't help but squeeze his hand back, saying softly, "It doesn't hurt."

"Don't worry, soldier, your wife is very strong." The doctor couldn't help but take a moment to look up and say this when he saw Qin Yushen's expression of utter despair.

Qin Yu stared intently at the doctor's movements, and gradually, he realized something was wrong.

Every time the stitching needle pierced her skin, Lin Xiaoxiao's hand would tremble slightly involuntarily.

Qin Yushen's other hand was clenched into a fist, his knuckles turning white from the pain.

He glanced at Lin Xiaoxiao's belly, and a guess popped into his mind.

"No anesthesia?" Every word seemed to be squeezed out desperately.

Noticing his gaze, the doctor quickened his pace.

Qin Yushen then looked at Chu Wuyan and Guan Yue beside him, and the two of them turned away in tacit understanding, avoiding his gaze.

With such a reaction, what else could he not understand?

His fingernails dug deep into his palms, sweat streamed down his cheeks, and his breathing became rapid and disordered, revealing the turmoil in his emotions.

Seeing that he seemed even more nervous and uneasy than she was, Lin Xiaoxiao comforted him, "Don't worry, it doesn't really hurt, it's just like a mosquito bite."

Qin Yushen looked down at her hand, which he was holding, and saw that it was trembling slightly, though she probably didn't even realize it herself.

He opened his mouth, but something seemed to be stuck in his throat. He wanted to say something, but he seemed to have lost his voice.

His eyes were filled with heartache and helplessness. He could only watch helplessly as Lin Xiaoxiao endured the excruciating pain. Every stitch felt like it was sewing into his heart. It was an unbearable pain and tearing sensation.

"Alright, alright." Despite the pressure from the doctor's gaze, he applied some medicine to the stitched wound and wrapped it with gauze.

"Keep the wound clean and dry, avoid getting it wet, and come in regularly to change the dressing to prevent infection."

After giving some instructions, he looked at Lin Xiaoxiao's abdomen and said slowly, "Pregnancy makes your body special, so don't do strenuous exercise, rest more, and don't aggravate the wound when you exercise."

He could see it clearly: although the wound was a knife wound, a large part of it was torn open by strenuous exercise.

This woman is truly remarkable; she remained completely unfazed by the excruciating pain.

A hint of guilt flashed across Lin Xiaoxiao's face as she nodded and said, "Thank you, doctor."

The doctor then looked at Qin Yushen and said, "It's not a big problem, don't be so nervous. Take good care of your wife's diet, make sure she eats more eggs and meat, and avoid spicy, stimulating, and greasy foods for now."

Qin Yu nodded mechanically, his eyes still fixed on Lin Xiaoxiao with tension.

The doctor couldn't help but laugh at this sight and remarked, "You two have such a good relationship."

They're probably newlyweds, otherwise they wouldn't be so lovey-dovey.

Considering that Lin Xiaoxiao was pregnant, the doctor did not prescribe any oral medication, but only a mild, antiseptic, topical ointment to prevent infection.

Qin Yushen carefully picked her up and walked towards the jeep parked outside the clinic.

They received many strange looks from those around them. Lin Xiaoxiao pressed herself against his chest and whispered, "Honey, I only hurt my hand, my leg is fine."

So please don't treat her like she's disabled, okay?

Qin Yushen's jaw was tense; he hadn't relaxed yet. Upon hearing this, he only said, "What if walking aggravates the wound?"

Lin Xiaoxiao: "......."

All right.

She buried her face peacefully in his chest, blocking out the outside world, closed her eyes, and fell asleep exhausted.

Back home, Qin Yushen carefully placed her on the bed and pulled the blanket over her.

Then I just sat quietly by the bed and watched her for a while.

A moment later, he got up and walked out. The instant he closed the door, his eyes turned cold, and a hint of gloom appeared in his brows and eyes.

"Brother Qin." Chu Wuyan stood up when he saw him come out.

Qin Yushen was almost a year older than him, so it was only natural for him to call him "brother".

Qin Yushen pulled up his sleeve and said in a low voice, "After the investigation results for that man come out, please have your brother give me a copy."

"Don't mention it, Brother Qin, you're too kind." Chu Wuyan smiled, then frowned the next second. "Brother Qin, I heard from Guan Yue that the man initially aimed the knife at Lin Meimei's stomach. I suspect that the person behind it is targeting your child."

Qin Yu paused for a moment, as if he had thought of something, then suddenly raised his eyes, a strong killing intent flashing in them.

"I see."

Chu Wuyan could tell from his expression that he already had a guess.

He breathed a sigh of relief. "I'll go check on Wujin and let you know as soon as I have any results."

Qin Yu nodded deeply, "Thank you."

Chu Wuyan arrived at the police station but didn't see Chu Wujin. After asking around, he learned that Chu Wujin had gone to the hospital.

They went over and saw Chu Wujin sitting at the entrance of the operating room. "Why didn't you arrest the murderer and take him to the police station? What are you doing bringing him to the hospital?"

Chu Wujin's lips twitched. "You'll find out soon enough."

Chu Wuyan glared at him, annoyed.

At this critical juncture, they're still keeping us in suspense.

Half an hour later, the operating room door opened, and the doctor took off his mask. "He has been temporarily saved, but the patient has fractures all over his body and will need further surgery."

Chu Wuyan: "......."

My goodness, Lin Daiyu truly lives up to her reputation as the number one person who never suffers a loss.

Someone stabbed her, and she retaliated by breaking all her bones.

"His ribs are broken, almost piercing through his chest; his major artery is ruptured, causing massive bleeding." Chu Wujin looked at Chu Wuyan with a deep gaze. "Now you know why I brought him to the hospital."

Chu Wuyan: "..."

There was nothing to say, and no way to refute it.

Give him a thumbs up for his Lin Daiyu look.

As the man was pushed out, Chu Wujin pulled Chu Wuyan over, his brows furrowed. "Brother, take a closer look. I feel like I recognize him."

Chu Wuyan looked him over a few times, his eyes nearly popping out of their sockets. Pointing at the person, he asked incredulously, "You're all swollen like a steamed bun. What do you want me to see?"

There wasn't a single decent look on his face; his left eye had been smashed open, leaving a dark, panda-like bulge.

Currently, only the right eye is still intact and normal.

Chu Wujin pushed him away, touched his chin, and scanned the man's face inch by inch with sharp eyes, trying to find some clues from his messy face.
