Among this pile of investigation materials is Li Mancang's confession regarding why he stabbed Lin Xiaoxiao.
He clearly stated how much money Qin Huaiyi had given him and what she had asked for. When Qin Jinye saw it, he almost had a heart attack and died.
At the same time, he offended Lin Xiaoxiao, Qin Yushen, and the Chu family completely. Good, very good.
With a cold expression, Qin Jinye finished organizing the documents and left the government building.
His secretary drove him back to the government compound, not daring to utter a single word the entire way.
"Old Qin, do you think this thing is pretty?" Yao Huixian was sitting in the living room fiddling with something. When she saw him walk in, she happily showed him the bracelet on her wrist.
Qin Jinye frowned. "Where did it come from?"
Yao Huixian touched the bracelet with great affection, finding its cool touch very comfortable. When he asked, she said, "It was a gift from my sister-in-law. I guess it's related to Xiao Lei getting into the government office. It's not a big deal, you can help out when the time comes."
So it was a bribe.
Qin Jinye almost laughed out of anger, "If you want me to get killed sooner, then go ahead and take it."
"You even brazenly wear it on your hand, making mistakes openly and honestly. You're really something."
In this day and age, wearing these things on your body is tantamount to handing over your weaknesses to others.
His tone was harsh, carrying a strong sense of displeasure.
Yao Huixian's focus was different: "What do you mean? You're not going to help Xiaolei get into the government?"
"Qin Jinye, let me tell you, I only have this one nephew, and my father only has this one grandson. If you don't help, I'll have my father come and have a good talk with you."
"Never forget your roots. My dad helped you a lot to get to where you are in the government.
Qin Jinye's expression was beyond just ugly.
Undeniably, when he first entered the government, his father-in-law supported him financially by using connections and did his best to build his network and resources.
But over the years since he became vice mayor, he has given back quite a bit to his father-in-law's family.
Otherwise, how could my father-in-law still be a factory director at such an old age?
If it weren't for him keeping things under control and cleaning up their messes, his father-in-law's family would have been in jail long ago.
He said that this is a crucial stage of the election and that no accidents can happen; everything else can be discussed later.
They deliberately chose to commit the crime at this critical moment, fearing he might change his mind.
How can they all be so stupid?
"I can't be bothered to talk to you," Qin Jinye said impatiently. "Where's Qin Huaiyi?"
Yao Huixian was very unhappy. "In the room."
Qin Jinye sat on the sofa and said to her, "Have her come down, and you go and pack some clothes for her."
"What are you doing?" Yao Huixian asked, puzzled.
"Just do as I say, why ask so many questions?" Qin Jinye gave her a deep look. Although he didn't know if Yao Huixian was involved, he wouldn't ask for the time being. He would first arrange Qin Huaiyi's whereabouts.
Yao Huixian snorted, feeling uncomfortable, but still went upstairs and called Qin Huaiyi down.
After these days of rest, Qin Huaiyi's foot has recovered most of its strength, but she still can't walk completely. She lies in her room every day and is almost getting moldy from lying there.
When she first heard Qin Jinye tell her to get down, she thought it was something good and couldn't wait to get up.
"Dad, did you call me?" she said with a smile on her face.
Qin Jinye glanced at her, then took out the prepared letter of introduction and her identity document, and slapped them in front of her.
Looking at the two items that were clearly going to be used for a long trip, Qin Huaiyi had a bad feeling. "Dad, I don't need a letter of introduction at home. Why did you suddenly get one for me?"
"Whether you need it or not, you'll find out soon enough," Qin Jinye said casually.
What's the meaning?
Not only Qin Huaiyi, but even Yao Huixian was stunned.
She came down carrying a small bundle containing some clothes that Qin Jinye had asked her to pack for Qin Huaiyi.
"Old Qin, what are you keeping me in suspense for?" She tossed the bundle onto the sofa; judging by its weight and size, there wasn't much inside.
It's obvious that Yao Huixian is just going through the motions.
Qin Jinye snorted coldly, "Since your mother only packed this much for you, then just take this much."
"Dad, Mom..." Qin Huaiyi's unease grew stronger. She glanced at the letter of introduction, then at her bundle, and seemed to guess what was going on. "Dad, are you trying to send me away?"
Qin Jinye closed his eyes to rest, remaining silent as if waiting for something.
"Mom, Mom." Qin Huaiyi gripped Yao Huixian's hand tightly, so tightly that it hurt Yao Huixian.
"Mom, I need money. Give me all the cash in the house. Go get it, hurry up and get it." Qin Huaiyi didn't know why, but her subconscious sixth sense told her that she had to carry more money with her.
So she pleaded with Yao Huixian, "Mom, Dad is definitely going to kick me out. Could you give me some money?"
Yao Huixian hesitated for a moment. In order to deal with Lin Xiaoxiao, she had already given her daughter five or six thousand yuan. Now the family didn't have much cash left.
She patted Qin Huaiyi's hand reassuringly, "Don't worry, your dad won't kick you out. You're his daughter, and our family lives in Beijing. Where could he possibly send you?"
After saying that, he asked Qin Jinye, "Right, Lao Qin?"
Seeing that Qin Jinye didn't speak, she frowned. "You've been acting strangely ever since you came back. You won't tell me what happened. Look how scared you've made Xiaoyi."
Just then, the sound of a car engine shutting off came from the doorway.
