"I was so engrossed in watching TV that I didn't even have time to go out and greet you when you arrived. I hope my brother-in-law won't hold it against my older brother?"
An unnecessary explanation.
Qin Jinye chuckled, "I don't mind."
The TV program was still playing, and only Yao Huixian and her mother were talking in the living room to ease the atmosphere. Qin Jinye's eyes remained fixed on the TV, and he didn't chat with Yao's father or older brother.
Yao's mother gave Yao Huixian a look, and then the two entered the room one after the other.
The moment she slammed the door shut, Yao's mother couldn't wait to ask, "Jinye, what happened? Did you two have a fight?"
"No." Yao Huixian didn't realize that her tone was resentful.
Upon hearing this, Yao's mother knew that the two must have had some kind of conflict.
He advised, "Making a living isn't easy either, don't get angry with him."
Yao Huixian was about to explode. "He was the one throwing a tantrum at me. All I did was curse that little bastard once!"
Yao's mother caught the key information in her words, "What did you say?"
Yao Huixian mumbled a few words, her voice very soft.
But Yao's mother still heard what she said, paused for a moment, then poked her forehead and said with exasperation, "You can say these things in private, why did you have to say them in front of Jinye? I don't know what to say about your personality."
Regardless of the circumstances, Qin Yushen is Qin Jinye's son. Being a stepmother is bound to be criticized. Isn't Yao Huixian ruining her own reputation with her unrestrained words?
Yao Huixian didn't think she had done anything wrong, and she told her mother everything that Qin Yushen and Lin Xiaoxiao had done.
In her words, she, Qin Huaijun, and Qin Huaiyi were the victims.
But they forgot the principle that the one who starts the fight is the one who loses face.
When Yao Huixian heard that Old Master Qin planned to leave all of the Qin family's belongings to Qin Yushen, Yao's mother's expression changed. "Your father-in-law is really senile."
"That's right." Yao Huixian was at her wit's end. She would never tell her family about these things before, not for any other reason than to save face.
Now that she has seen through Qin Jinye's biased nature, and with Old Master Qin's side remaining indecisive, she and Huaijun are isolated and helpless, and can only seek support from their maternal family.
She hopes her family can give her some advice.
