Outside Qin Yushen and Lin Xiaoxiao's house.
Since most of the people who came were prominent figures, six cars were parked outside the courtyard: four Jeeps and two Santanas.
Many people from the next street came over to see what was going on, but they were all chased away by the guards.
In the corner, Han Xiu's expression was as sinister as a wolf's as he punched his father, Han Ming, one punch after another. For the first time ever, Han Ming did not dodge and took several punches head-on.
Han Ming's bodyguards were pacing anxiously nearby.
"Have you vented your anger enough?" Seeing Han Xiu stop, Han Ming coughed twice, looked up at his drastically changed son, and spoke gently.
"Of course not." Han Xiu sneered, his words cutting. "I might be able to let it go when you and that bitch are dead."
Being cursed to death by his own son left Han Ming with a bitter feeling. "You...you really want your father to die?"
Han Xiu answered without hesitation, "Of course."
"Only when you die can you go down to the eighteenth level of hell with that bitch and repent to my mother."
"Han Ming, why don't you just die?"
The cold, heartless words were like a sharp knife, piercing Han Ming's heart and causing him to turn pale with pain.
He couldn't help but question himself: Was he a terrible father?
His two sons had become estranged from him.
He was like a lone wolf.
There was nothing there.
"Dad still can't understand why you hate me so much, and why you hate your Aunt Zhang," Han Ming asked calmly, lowering his eyes.
"Why?" Han Xiu looked dazed, as if he had heard something absurd. "You actually asked me why."
Han Ming reached out his hand, "Xiao Xiu..."
"Get away from me, don't touch me." Han Xiu took a few steps back in response, looking at him with hatred.
“That bitch killed my mother. When you defend that bitch, you are no longer my father. Don’t call me by my name, it disgusts me.”
Han Ming's face paled. "Your Aunt Zhang... isn't that kind of person, you..."
"Bang!"
"Commander!" The guard couldn't hold back any longer and quickly ran over to help Han Ming up.
Han Xiu, unable to bear it any longer, punched Han Ming in the face with all his might. Han Ming felt a metallic taste in his throat, which he didn't have time to swallow and instead dripped from the corner of his mouth.
The guard looked terrified. "Sir, I'll take you to the hospital."
“It’s nothing.” He pushed the guard away, looked up at Han Xiu, wiped the bloodstains away with his thumb, and said calmly, “I will investigate what happened back then. If you’re not lying, I won’t let her off the hook.”
Han Xiu chuckled, "Oh, that's rare. She's been a woman I've slept with for so many years, are you really willing to part with her?"
"Han Xiu," Han Ming's tone turned cold, "aside from that time I got drunk, I never touched Zhang Xiumei. You should know that in your heart."
It was because she drank too much that year that Zhang Xiumei became pregnant with that child.
Although he had no memory of that night, it was a fact that he had taken liberties with her, and he couldn't shirk responsibility.
The child was also kicked away by Han Xiu. Later, Han Ming moved to the army base and, apart from occasionally going back for a meal, he never touched Zhang Xiumei.
Where did this guy come from, sleeping for so many years?
Han Xiu sneered, "Hypocritical, despicable."
After saying that, she ignored him and went straight into the courtyard.
Han Ming touched his cheek and hissed, "Damn, that was a hard hit."
"Sir, you should go to the hospital to get checked out." The guard was extremely worried, fearing something might have happened to him.
"No need." Han Ming shook his head. "Go in and tell Lao Chu that I have to leave first, and ask him to apologize to Qin Yushen and his wife."
The guard did as instructed, and Han Ming was already in the car when he came out.
"Commander, should we go home or back to the military region?"
"Take me to that courtyard on Renmin Road." Han Ming didn't say home, but directly said the name of the house.
In his heart, that place was not home at all.
From the day Hanyu passed away, he had no home, only responsibilities he had to bear.
"Yes." The guard nodded, started the car, and drove away.
Han Ming rubbed his cheek, the pain making his mind even clearer. He turned his head to look at the scenery flashing past the window and squinted his eyes.
Zhang Xiumei.......
It's best if Hanyu wasn't involved in the fall down the stairs back then.
Otherwise, he would let her know what it means to wish she were dead.
-
Han Ming's sudden departure did not affect the smooth progress of the full moon banquet.
Amidst laughter and cheerful conversation, it was already past 1 p.m. when they finished their meal. Chu Weinian and Chu Xiaonian were busy with work, so they left after finishing their meal.
For those who lived further away, Wen Mo and Qin Yu arranged for bodyguards to escort them.
Only Han Xiu stayed behind.
Once everyone else was gone, Han Xiu relaxed and told them about how he had beaten up Han Ming.
Qin Yu knew that he must have had a conflict with Commander Han Ming, so he didn't say anything, but just patted him on the shoulder in silent comfort.
"The old man only thinks to investigate that bitch now? What was he doing eighteen years ago?" Han Xiu was furious and regretted not beating her hard enough.
Lin Xiaoxiao said, "Since he wants to investigate, let's help him out."
Han Xiu shook his head, his expression somewhat dejected. "We can't find out. When my mother fell from the building, there was only that bitch at home. There were no eyewitnesses at all."
He only learned the truth when he overheard Zhang Xiumei accidentally letting slip some words while she was dealing with her mother's belongings.
It was precisely because there was no evidence that Han Ming did not believe him.
"Since she admitted it herself, we should fabricate evidence if there isn't any." Lin Xiaoxiao's eyes flashed.
