"Let's go, looks like we won't be able to get any wine today." After her initial smugness, Ah Ying became dejected again.
At this point, Ah Xiang admired Ah Ying to the point of complete awe.
"Ah Ying, you're amazing!"
"Hmph, you know that much."
The two were laughing and joking when they stepped out of the tavern. A group of Yue soldiers approached. The man at the head of the group paused for a moment when he saw Ah Ying, then looked at the person next to him and asked, "Is this the girl you were talking about who's unbelievably beautiful?"
"Yes...yes, sir." The man was one of the three people smoking by the roadside.
His gaze toward Ah Ying held a hint of regret.
The officer laughed twice, "Good, good, not bad, take him away."
Two men stepped forward and grabbed Ah Ying. "What are you doing? Let me go!"
Ah Xiang tried to rescue Ah Ying, but was kicked away and lay on the ground for a long time, writhing in pain while clutching his stomach.
“Ah Xiang…” Ah Ying struggled, looking at the person on the ground with worry.
"Let me go."
The pedestrians on the roadside ran away in fear when they saw the man in the lead.
It seems this person doesn't have a very good reputation locally.
"Ah Ying..." Ah Xiang endured the excruciating pain and tried to get up from the ground, but he couldn't manage it after a while. He could only watch helplessly as Ah Ying was taken away.
"Ah Ying!"
Passersby looked at him with pity.
None of the girls who were taken away by that man ever came back alive.

"What are you going to do?" Lin Xiaoxiao pretended to be scared, but also tried to remain calm.
"What do I want?" the man chuckled. "Little beauty, you're really something else. How about you come with me?"
Lin Xiaoxiao rolled her eyes where he couldn't see her.
She remained perfectly calm, her heart rate barely fluctuating, but she still feigned fear and struggled violently, refusing to let him touch her.
A man might take it as fun once or twice.
He gets impatient if there are too many.
The beauty was right in front of him, and not being able to touch her was worse than death.
"If you know what's good for you, come over here." The man's face darkened.
Lin Xiaoxiao naturally wouldn't go over. Seeing the man rushing towards her, she screamed, and the door was kicked open with a loud bang.
"Chen Wenxiao, what do you want to do?" The man was furious that his good time had been interrupted.
Chen Wenxiao glanced at Lin Xiaoxiao huddled in the corner, then frowned at the man. "Battalion Commander Gao, the regimental commander wants you to attend a meeting. I'm taking this person with me."
Upon hearing that Ruan Xiong had organized a meeting, Battalion Commander Gao immediately straightened his clothes.
"This is the person I brought back. What right do you have to take her away?" He said with displeasure.
Chen Wenxiao didn't care about anything else and had someone come in and take Lin Xiaoxiao away. Before leaving, he said, "Battalion Commander Gao, you'd better tone it down. The regimental commander is very dissatisfied with you."
After saying that, he left without giving Gao any face.
"Damn it." Battalion Commander Gao punched the door, his eyes dark as he looked at Chen Wenxiao's back. "You just wait, you bastard surnamed Chen."
What is Chen Wenxiao anyway? He's just showing off because he's Ruan Xiong's adjutant.

"You..." Chen Wenxiao opened his mouth, about to say something, when the voice of a soldier came from outside the door.
"Lieutenant Chen, the regimental commander wants to see you."
In that instant, Lin Xiaoxiao clearly saw the fleeting dissatisfaction in Chen Wenxiao's eyes. She lowered her head, and a subtle smile curved her lips.
After Chen Wenxiao was called away by Ruan Xiong, Lin Xiaoxiao wandered around the neighborhood out of boredom. The soldiers looked at her with curiosity.
"Ahem... Who are you? You can't just wander around in the war zone, don't you know?" A soldier stopped her and scolded her.
"I'm sorry, I'll go back right away," Lin Xiaoxiao immediately admitted her mistake.
