Jenner looked serious, as if it was a decision she had really thought through.
Sean looked his daughter up and down, thinking to himself that he could be wrong about her.
Money really does move people's hearts.
For the sake of profit, Jenner was even willing to take back what she had said many years ago: "I will never get married."
Jenna looked at Sean expectantly, "How was it, Dad?"
Sean laughed in exasperation, "Don't overthink it."
He was too embarrassed to say anything that would hurt her feelings.
On the other side, Lin Xiaoxiao walked out of the manor and saw Bruce standing outside the manor gate.
The last time I saw him was at Sean's mother's birthday party.
Back then, he was the center of attention, standing beside Jenna.
At this point, they couldn't even get into the Davis family's estate and could only wait outside.
Bruce wasn't embarrassed at all when he saw the face that appeared in the car window. He even greeted Lin Xiaoxiao familiarly, "Miss Natasha, it's been a long time."
"Not long," Lin Xiao said, "just a few days."
Bruce choked for a moment, but quickly recovered and changed the subject, "Are you going back to Washington?"
Lin Xiaoxiao nodded, "Yes, do you need a ride?"
"No, thank you." Bruce smiled and shook his head, pointing to the manor. "I'll wait for Jenna."
"She will be angry if I leave early."
He really has a lot of experience being a mistress.
Lin Xiaoxiao didn't understand, nor did she offer any opinion; she simply nodded.
Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly remembered something, turned his head and said a few numbers to Bruce.
Bruce's expression remained unchanged.
That shouldn't be the case.
Lin Xiaoxiao frowned.
For a moment, I couldn't figure it out.
Bruce suddenly spoke up, "Miss Natasha, I don't think the person you're looking for is me."
"I don't understand the numbers you mentioned either."
Lin Xiaoxiao was puzzled, "If you're not, then what message are you sending me?"
It's fair to say that most of the useful information was given to her by Bruce.
She had previously suspected that Bruce was one of the four teammates.
Now they can't even match the secret code.
He also admitted that he wasn't the person he was looking for.
What about the other two teammates? Are they planning to just hide in the shadows forever?
That's really mysterious.
Bruce remained calm. "I'm just an informant. Like you said, people in my line of work are like information relay stations. All information has to pass through me before it goes where it's supposed to go."
"The person behind you is really well hidden," Lin Xiaoxiao said.
They even use a middleman to pass on information.
Was he afraid she would discover his true identity?
That's weird.
Bruce chuckled. "Perhaps he's just not comfortable showing up."
Whether it's inconvenient or because they dare not, let's leave that aside for now.
Lin Xiaoxiao was curious about what Bruce would do in the future. "Are you planning to stay Jenna's lover forever?"
The Davis family is indeed powerful.
But Jenna is a womanizer by nature and doesn't seem like the type to settle down for a man, and Sean doesn't fancy Bruce, who has no family background.
Even if Jenner chooses to get married in the future, she will not choose Bruce.
Judging from Shawn's style of doing things, he will definitely find Jenna a suitable match.
More importantly, she didn't realize how much Bruce liked Jenner.

Bruce's expression froze for a moment, then returned to normal. "Joy is not a necessity of life; I don't need it."

Lin Xiaoxiao cleverly changed the subject, "How did you come to the US? Your English sounds quite fluent."

“I was born here, but my parents came here illegally,” Bruce said.

Lin Xiaoxiao glanced at him, started the car, and drove away.
Bruce stared in the direction the car had gone, remaining silent for a long time.
"Bruce, come up here," Jenna's voice rang out.
