Chapter 41 Finding the Second Brother

Su Luo smiled and said, "Baby, each of us can only live for more than 30,000 days in this world at most. Even if we see a different scenery every day and try a new thing every day, we will never be able to experience all of this kaleidoscope-like world."

Gu Yi asked curiously, "Mom, how do you know that each of us can only live for more than 30,000 days?"

Su Luo laughed and said, "There are 365 days in a year. Even if you live for 100 years, that's just over 30,000 days. If everything goes well, you might live for 80, 100, or 110 years. No matter how you count it, it's still 30,000 days."

Gu Yi tried hard to digest her words, and then admired her: "You are amazing, you know so much!"

Su Luo smiled and said, "That's because mom read a lot of books. When she didn't have the financial ability to go out and see the world, she could learn a lot of knowledge, insights, and scenery from books."

Gu Yi said with longing: "Then I will also study hard and learn a lot of words. If I don't have the opportunity to go out and experience the kaleidoscope-like world, then I will see it from books!"

Su Luo was amused by his little adult appearance and patted the back of his head: "Alright, little brat, why are you talking about opportunities? Your life is still in its infancy, and there are plenty of opportunities and endless possibilities waiting for you."

Gu Yi nodded seriously: "Yes!"

The two stayed in the yard until very late, looked at the stars for a while, and then went back to sleep.

The next day.

Su Luo got up early. She didn't have to sell braised meat today, and she had almost finished writing her novel, so she planned to go to the next town.

She entrusted Gu Yi to Aunt Niu, took some cash and rode the village ox cart to the next town.

The woman said she had seen someone who looked similar to her son at the Tong Fu Restaurant.

The town was not big and there were only a few restaurants. Su Luo asked around and found out the location of the restaurant.

Looking from the entrance, Tongfu Restaurant is not big. In fact, it is just a narrow fly-infested restaurant with only three tables in the restaurant and the kitchen at the back.

There were only the boss and his wife in the store, and no children were seen.

Su Luo didn't go in rashly, but waited at the door for a while.

It was not dinner time, so there were not many people in the restaurant.

She ordered a pot of tea from the tea stall opposite the restaurant and sat there until almost noon when she saw some customers come in to order food.

Soon, a thin and weak child came up with the dishes.

Su Luo's eyes lit up and she looked carefully. The child looked 70% similar to Gu Yi. It could be concluded that they were brothers without a doubt.

But here’s the thing…

The original owner herself didn’t care enough about the child, and she didn’t know what kind of personality Gu Xiaoer had.

She was trying hard to recall when suddenly a crisp sound was heard in the restaurant, the sound of a plate breaking.

"Tiedan! Are you going to die?! How do you work? Look at you!" The boss's sharp and harsh voice came in.

Su Luo looked in the direction of the voice and saw the skinny little guy with a pale face. He got up from the ground in panic and apologized repeatedly: "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'll clean it up right away!"

The boss's wife poked her head out from the back kitchen, frowned when she saw this, and glared at the boss in reproach: "It's you who asked him to come out to work. I told him to lie down for a day because he had a fever. He didn't do his job well and broke something. Look at this!"

The boss quickly apologized to the customer with a smile: "I'm sorry, I didn't spill it on you, did I? I'll cook you another plate right away."

The guest was also very easy to talk to: "It's nothing, it's nothing, just look after the child. If he is sick, don't let him go out to work, it will only cause trouble."

"Oh, yes, yes!" The boss smiled and nodded, then turned around and slapped the child, saying viciously, "Go back! As a punishment, you are not allowed to eat today."

Gu Xiaoer was beaten so hard that he was stunned. He covered his face and walked out of the restaurant.

Seeing this, Su Luo followed him and followed the child to an old house.

The house is not far from the restaurant, in fact it’s just around the corner.

When the door was about to close, Su Luo quickly stepped forward and held the door: "Wait a moment!"

Gu Xiaoer was startled, and when he saw her, he couldn't help but wonder, "Who are you?"

Su Luo quickly asked: "Don't you remember your mother?"

"Mom?" Gu Xiaoer stared at her carefully for a while, his pupils suddenly shrank, a look of fear and rejection emerged on his face, and he tried to close the door.

She had lost so much weight and became much whiter, he didn't recognize this bad woman at first sight!

Su Luo held the door, so he couldn't close it. Su Luo said, "I'm sorry, did I scare you? Mommy has something to say to you. Can you listen to what Mommy has to say?"

"Get out! I don't want to listen!" Gu Xiaoer showed strong rejection. Seeing that she was holding the door tightly, he suddenly pounced on her and bit her wrist.

Su Luo withdrew her hand in pain, and the door slammed shut.

She frowned, knowing that these children might not like her very much, but she didn't expect their attitude to be so intense.

Through the crack in the wooden door, she saw the little guy squatting in the yard wiping his tears and not returning to the house yet, so she quickly raised her voice and said, "I'm sorry, I sold you because I couldn't afford to support you. I know I was wrong, but now I have money and can give you a stable home. Can you give me a chance to repent and let me take you home?"

"Get out! I never want to see you again, I hate you!" An angry voice with a crying tone came from inside.

Su Luo had no choice but to throw the yam and red date cake she had bought into the yard and shouted, "I brought you some yam and red date cake. I just heard them say that you seemed to be sick. Can you come out? Mommy will take you to the health center."

"None of your business!" The little guy yelled at her, then turned and ran into the house.

Su Luo waited outside for a while, but felt that this was not a solution, so she went across from the restaurant and observed the couple who had bought the child.

From her observation, the business of this store was not very good. The boss looked very weak, with a pointed face and droopy eyes, like a person who had been drunk.

The proprietress, on the other hand, is plump and fit, and looks very healthy.

Perhaps the two of them had been unable to conceive and were getting older, so they bought a son.

But for some reason, they should be very happy to have a son, but they treat the child so badly, it's really...

She thought about it, then turned to ask the owner of the tea stall next to her: "Boss, are the old couple in this restaurant just in a bad mood? How come the parents don't care about their child even though the child is sick? They even hit him. How cruel!"

"Oh, his family. You are not from our town, are you?" The boss was a middle-aged woman with a cheerful personality. She loved to chat about these trivial matters. She lowered her voice and moved closer: "His family had never had a child before, so they bought a child. Guess what happened? After buying the child, a few months ago, the boss's wife suddenly became pregnant. Now that she was going to have a child, she naturally beat and scolded the child she bought."

"This child is so pitiful." Su Luo said with concern.
